We have almost 40 acres of beautiful land that is scattered trees in a field and more forested areas. We also have mountain views depending on where you stay! We are right next door to the Pineries Open Space which is a 9 mile trail that you can hike, bike, or horse ride on. It also connects (by crossing a road) to Section 16 which is another 4 mile trail. You can bring your own horses and for a $50 fee we will set up corral panels for your horses to stay. We have farm animals that will be wondering about the land at times. We have water up at our home that you can use to fill up your campers with water or any water containers you need to fill. The park, that you would have a gate to walk through that connects to our property, has a vault toilet. At certain times we offer farm experiences at additional charges. There is a small corner store a couple of miles away, a local feed store where you can buy hay for tour horses, a little local coffee shop and small cafe as well. Come enjoy the country life just minutes from town!
Because we also use our land to graze our animals, we ask that only one vehicle be parked at the site at a time. We have a place for parking additional vehicles if you have more than 1 vehicle.

I widened the gate and moved my mailbox for easier access. Butane fire rings allowed on private property during a fire ban .
Camp anywhere on 60 acres. In one direction there are rolling meadow. Another rocky outcropping. Look to the south and you’ll see the BLM land that shares my fence line. If you want access to town you’re there. You choose how you want to feel. In the woods, in the forest, on huge rocks, flat land or turn around and see CR 1 ( 1/4 mile driveway). Forty five minutes west of Colorado Springs, ten miles to Divide for grocers. One half mile to ice, gas, pizza etc. It is first come first serve with the sites. Two that are near trees for large RVs. One up higher works for pull thru trailers. Plenty of room in the pasture. I just got my first negative review referring to it being dry prairie land. Some pictures are from late last summer.. We haven’t had enough rain yet for it to green up. Also it can be windy.

Camping at Sunshine Mountain was good. It feels quite secluded even though you are only about 5 minutes from grocery stores, gas stations etc. If you pull in to the loop for your spot counter clockwise, your door will face to the forest. Others had mentioned problems with the black dump. I didn't have an issue and it seems like the slant is towards the drain, so my tank fully emptied.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The campsite was amazingly secluded and peaceful, yet still easy enough to get to and conveniently close to great hikes and some smaller towns that were perfect for sneaking away for a little exploring.
The site itself was perfect for our family — two kids, a puppy, and our 22-ft RV. We had plenty of space and everything we needed to really enjoy being outdoors together.
The pond is currently very low, but that’s simply due to the lack of snow and runoff this year, and it didn’t take away from our experience at all.
One thing to note is that there is only one designated campfire area, so the fire pit is more of a community campfire setup rather than a private one at each site. Next time, we’ll probably just bring our own propane fire pit so we can have a fire at our site without paying the extra cost for a campfire.
That said, we loved this place so much that we’ve already booked another stay for next month! This is definitely going to become one of our go-to spots, and we can’t wait to keep coming back. ❤️🏕️🐾

Upon my arrival I was greeted with open arms and Dan showing me the spot which I would be parked at offered to back my camper in, which of course I said yes. Between Dan and another helpful gentleman they got me parked, leveled and made me feel more than welcome. Great mature aspens surrounded me, quiet, beautiful place.

Oooooh man Dan! This is a fun, themed mini park. He showed us around and the kids (2 and 4yr olds) and other kids (me and my wife) got to see Bigfoot’s footprint. There was a bunch of wildlife that added extra fun to the trip. 10/10 would recommend. Full bathroom, hot showers, better than we hoped for!

This river site is hard to beat. While the campground itself is old and small, it’s very quaint. The rusted charcoal grills could be pitched and the small cracked picnic tables need to be replaced but nothing can compare to the giant cottonwoods hanging over the sites. And did I mention the gorgeous river? Plus you have to chat with the host, Neil. He’s a treat.
