The site features a large 14' x 16' deck for tent camping and a rustic 12' x 16' sleeping shed that provides a dry, sheltered place to sleep and relax. Bring your own sleeping gear and make yourself at home under the stars. One of the property's highlights is the incredible night sky. With minimal light pollution, guests can enjoy exceptional stargazing, including the Milky Way on clear nights. You'll have the campsite area to yourself, including the sleeping shed, camping deck, hammock, tire swing, four folding camp chairs, two picnic tables, a propane fire pit, and a simple camp toilet seat (bring your own garbage bags and take all waste with you). The 12' x 16' sleeping shed provides a dry, sheltered place to sleep and relax. Guests are welcome to sleep inside the shed, pitch a tent on the 14' x 16' deck, or bring a small RV. The site is designed for a rustic, off-grid camping experience. A storage bin contains a few basic supplies that previous guests have found helpful, including sunscreen, bug spray, garbage bags, basic first aid supplies, an air mattress with pump, and roasting skewers. Please return any borrowed items clean and in good condition for future guests. Guests are free to hike and explore the property on foot. ATVs are welcome, but please ride carefully, as trails include sharp curves, uneven terrain, and some steep drop-offs. Nearby activities include fishing, boating, climbing, and paddling at Eleven Mile Reservoir; hiking at Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument; swimming at Guffey Gorge/Paradise Cove; and exploring the historic towns of Florissant, Guffey, and Cripple Creek. Please note that the owner's smaller shed is private and not available for guest use. Important Information: • Off-grid site with no water, electricity, or sewer hookups • Generators permitted • Pack out all trash, including bathroom waste • Bears, coyotes, mountain lions, deer, and other wildlife may be present • Store food securely and never leave trash unattended • Verizon service is intermittent; AT&T generally has stronger coverage in the area • A propane fire pit is provided for guest use. Due to frequently changing fire restrictions and dry conditions in Teller County, wood campfires may not be permitted even when a fire ring is present. Please check Teller County fire restrictions.

We have only ever tried with our 23 foot travel trailer and a pop up camper. We have no problem getting those up and set and leveled if we go slow coming off the road and take our WDH off before coming off the road onto the property.

Firepit, private. When there are not fire restrictions per Teller county, fires are OK. https://tellercounty.gov/ There are a lot of felled trees and branches - use whatever wood you find. Feel free to use the fire pit at the site. Please ensure 1000% your fire is extinguished before sleeping and/or leaving - there is a LOT of 'fuel' (trees) for fires in the area and a forest fire would be devastating as well as expensive with fines and criminal charges.

Pets on or off leash at your own risk and discretion (wild bears, mountain lions, and coyotes do live in the area). Our own dogs run off leash regularly during the day - not at night. There are a couple areas where their could be remnants of barbed wire from when the property was a working ranch. Neither our kids nor our dogs have ever had a problem with that, but be aware you might see some here and there (most has been collected and discarded).

Peace, Quiet, and Stars!

We loved the utter quiet and peacefulness. We've camped many places. This is by far the best site we've ever visited. The new sleep shed surprised us by how nice it was. My husband and I tent-camped, but our bestie couple slept in the shed using the cots provided. We all piled in a few times when rain came and were pleased to stay dry. When the clouds cleared, we were in awe of the brilliant and vast star-filled sky. While it is a little bit of a drive to the site, it wasn't cumbersome or scary, and we loved the views every time we left or returned to camp. The dirt road was extremely well-maintained. We enjoyed the proximity to Florissant Beds National Park, the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center, and Cripple Creek. Divide is nearby for groceries and has a few good restaurant options. Just a few more minutes past Divide towards Colorado Springs, Woodland Park gives many more options for groceries, restaurants, and stores for other supplies/needs we had. Our only complaint is that we had to leave! Thanks, Jolene, for sharing this beautiful landscape with us. It looks like you have additional plans for the site that will only complement what you have going already. We look forward to returning someday!

This was the best campsite I have ever stayed at. You basically have an entire mountain top to yourself. We were they for 5 nights and only heard, maybe, 2 cars the entire time. Didn't see a soul. The scenery is fantastic. The shed is roomy and had 4 cots in it. We took our tent, but ended up opting to sleep on the cots in the shed. I will definitely be back.

We absolutely love this Hipcamp. We are grateful to have stayed at this Hipcamp a few times and you can see the owner’s pride in their land as they continue to improve the property. The land is gorgeous, it is easy to get to in your vehicle, and it is quiet. While we did not plan to use the tent on property, we did notice that it was locked with cables to the floor, so we assumed that was not for our use. We did take advantage of setting up our camp chairs on the lower open platform. Beautiful view!

We had an amazing stay here! The campsite was beautiful, peaceful, and quiet — perfect for a relaxing weekend. Our kids loved climbing and playing on the rocks, and the tire swing was a big hit. The hosts left thoughtful touches like fire pit pokers, which made things easier. The space is huge — perfect for just our family of four (plus our dogs), but it could easily accommodate a much larger group. I’d absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a great camping spot.

This seems like a great location for tent campers, solo vehicles, or smaller trailer setups. The drive in is scenic and easy enough to find with the host’s clear directions. The host was very responsive, kind, and easy to communicate with — definitely a highlight of the experience. The campsite itself has limited open views, though if you're up for a short climb on the nearby rocks, you’ll be rewarded with some really nice mountain scenery. From the actual site, however, the main visible feature is a house on the neighboring hill. There’s just one relatively level area to park — right at the crest of the hill in the main site area — and while we managed with a full-size lifted truck and 27' camper, it wasn’t easy. Low branches at the entrance, along with piles of trimmed limbs and a soft/sandy incline up the entrance driveway, made maneuvering and traction a bit of a challenge. One thing that caught us off guard was a group of unfamiliar men walking near the campsite later in the evening. They got close enough that we could hear them talking about our camper. It wasn’t necessarily threatening, but it did feel intrusive and took away from the sense of privacy and solitude we were hoping for. Hopefully just an isolated incident. That said, the area is incredibly quiet, and considerately supplied for off-grid camping, and when things settled down, it made for a peaceful and relaxing time in a beautiful part of Colorado.

We loved the site because of the views and the terrain. We brought our 24' trailer and there was plenty of room to find comfortable parking spot. Our friends slept in tent who loved the shade . Overall the site is very private as it felt we had the hill all to ourselves. At night the stars were disturbed by light pollution due the sites's remoteness. The host was very gracious and hospitable. Jolene was super helpful both in terms of answering our questions and making recommendations of things to do in the area. Thanks for allowing us to spend a few nights on your beautiful property!

The property is exactly as represented in the pictures/description and it’s very nice. It’s a good mix of open spaces between rock outcroppings and has a couple of larger open clearings without trees that could allow for frisbee or catch. Several areas have significant views. Much of be property has substantial rock formations that allow for scrambling and exploring. Fun all around! It was nice having some amenities included like the wooden chairs and fire pit with ember screen. Picnic tables came in handy. Beautiful drive in from Colorado Springs. Recommend and would return. Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed Jolene's property. It is very secluded, quiet and beautiful, just what we were looking for. There are plenty of options for where to put your tent or RV. We have a 5x9 Hiker Trailer (17 foot end to end). We loved all the trees, the 2 picnic tables and the metal fire pit. Our dog loves roaming around. The views and sunset were gorgeous. We enjoyed all the stars, although we had an almost full moon, which gave us plenty of ambient light. There is plenty of fallen trees and slash piles on the property, although other than kindling, if you want logs, come prepared to cut your own wood. There is an old saw available but we did not find it easy to use and we're glad we had brought our own wood. Jolene is very responsive and friendly and helped answer any questions we had. We enjoyed all the birds that had beautiful songs to sing. At night, we heard frogs nearby, although we have no idea where they came from. We would love to return and highly recommend this property. It's a hidden gem.
