We loved it! Incredible views, and so much space! We loved being able to have our dogs off leash. Having Hartsel less then ten minutes away was awesome. Highly recommend!

My husband and I and our three Shelties spent five days at Pronghorn Oasis to relax, hike, and avoid the fireworks during the 4th of July week. What a beautiful place to camp! The weather is 20 degrees cooler than Denver and so very peaceful and quiet. I hiked the dogs off leash every day exploring the area (there are dirt single-track roads that run all over the South Park basin). We had such a great experience and can’t wait to return!

First of all the setting and views are truly awesome with nobody around for miles and Steve the host was great. However the wind was relentless. Not sure if it’s like that all the time but would strongly suggest a camper or trailer for refuge from the wind. Easy access, clean porta-potty, nice flat area to camp, wood/propane fire pit with provided wood. Bring propane if there’s Red Flag Warnings.

Amazing spot for a quick night away to camp with my pup. It was so nice to be able to have a fire with the propane option during the fire ban. My dog enjoyed lots of off leash ball time. Also so nice to have a table and a portable toilet! Honestly the nicest portable toilet I’ve used in a long time. The skies cleared and I got a beautiful sunset and an amazing view of the stars before it got cloudy. I will be back for sure!

We had the best weekend trip at Pronghorn Oasis! We lucked out with the weather & had minimal wind most of the weekend. Amazing views, quiet, felt very private, clean & easy to get to. Really enjoyed having the fit pit & outhouse amenities. We would definitely stay again!

Very lovely camping spot! Fire supplies provided plus lights around the fire pit! I was afraid the spot was going to be very windy but I had a pleasant time. The camping spot hides behind a hill and protects from lots of the wind that comes from the (BEAUTIFUL) open view. The wind was mostly very gentle with a few large brief gusts here and there! Port-a-potty was nice and clean with plenty of paper and hand sanitizer. I also had cell service which was awesome. It was my first time solo camping and I felt very safe!

Loved my stay at Steve's camp site! Steve was communicative, all instructions were very clear, and check-in/out was very seamless. The views from the site were amazing in every direction and the stay felt private and safe. There was a burn ban during my stay so the propane pit came in very handy and was a great option in the morning for getting a quick and short fire going to enjoy a coffee around. If needing propane, you can get your tank filled in town at the Bayou Salado Trading Post (10 minute drive from camp). Thank you for a great stay!

The campsite was private and well maintained. Plenty of firewood in the tree line and the fire pit was designed perfectly for the winds. Be prepared for high winds! Great site! And great host!

Beautiful property with excellent views! Steve was great at communicating expectations, directions and provided clear information. Outhouse was clean and well stocked. Fire pit with option of wood or propane was really neat, so much so that my husband now wants one in our backyard. We experienced a bit of wind and Steve was helpful and understanding. We recommend leaving the property the same way you enter. We turned on a road thinking it would lead us to the highway (google maps said it was the quickest way to Cottonwood Hot Springs) but it led us astray. Overall happy campers.

This land has some of the most beautiful skies in Colorado. If you bring your chairs up the hill you can see mountains miles and miles away! It also has great amenities - picnic table, bench, propane fire pit, cookware, chairs, etc. We want to book every time of year to see how the land grows and changes. We saw some yellow leaves this time!

Spent two nights here on our way to NM and one night on our return trip home. Very quiet and peaceful, and the stars at night are simply amazing. Great communication with Steve, the host. No burn ban while we were there, but there is a nice propane setup in the event there had been (bring your own LP tank). Very clean port a potty, some camp cooking gear, including a pie iron. Looking forward to returning on our next trip out west!

I almost don't want to comment on this spot for fear it will become booked all of the time!
The site was clean and we could let our dogs run loose without worry. We sat and admired the views for hours. We have a self contained van but for those in tents, Steve thoughtfully has camping cooking supplies and a clean outhouse available for use. We will definitely return to enjoy the stunning views and peace & quiet.

My dog is a little reactive within campsites (usually requires more space to not be alerted) so we try to find locations throughout the camping season that allows him space and still let's us have some amenities 🤣 This location was perfect! We were within 20 min to a number of fishing options, the toliet was serviced day before we got there, we were offered early check in, directions were clear and easy and he had utensils chairs and solar lights to make the stay better. The wind caused some issues but nothing we couldn't work through. It was a great experience and plan to come back!

We had a great time camping with on Steve’s land. The fire pit setup is great. He has lots of cooking gear to use, chairs, and a shovel. The ability to use propane or wood is a game changer. Check for fire restrictions before you stay to know if you should bring wood or the propane tank from your grill. Steve was nice enough to let me know the current restriction status on the morning of our visit so we could plan accordingly. His communication was top notch before and during our stay. It is a bit exposed, so you are at the mercy of wind and rain, but we got lucky with beautiful weather. The actual site itself is gorgeous. Insane 360 views and very secluded. The proximity to Harstel is close enough to run into town to grab something quickly if you forgot to pack something, so that was nice too. Overall, outstanding Hipcamp site. We’ll hopefully be back next summer.

What a peaceful spot! Steve has done a great job making this space really welcoming. We had a lot of space to roam and I was super comfortable letting my dogs run around off leash. The final morning of our stay the cows came as close as the bottom of the hill but didn’t make it to our site. We will definitely be back!

Amazing place. So quiet and peaceful. Perfect for my two teenage sons to wonder around the property. The porta potty was in great condition as we're all of the tables, fire ring, chairs, etc. The solar powered lights were a nice touch. Great place, great host, thank you!

This camp site is a gem but there are a few things folks should know before going to it:
1. It's WINDY. The winds were so strong they broke our shade shelter and our brand new tent. Thankfully we can return the tent but it was stressful.
2. It's very sunny. There's no shade. You can see that in the photos but make sure you're prepared.
3. There are often no-burn bans, but the fire pit can take propane. That said, for our trip it was too windy to even use the propane, so be prepared with some other way to make food.
4. The biting flies are fierce. Our dog and our ankles got eaten alive. We used bug spray and it didn't work. Still better than mosquitos, but be prepared to wear long clothing and cover your pet's body (we put a flannel shirt on our dog, lol)
5. There are small cacti on-site. We didn't have any issues and our dog and kids ran around just fine without any mishaps.
The land owner lovingly takes great care of this site with a picnic table, fire pit and porta-potty. The land itself is a bit rugged but also has incredible views. The stars at night are absolutely amazing and we got to watch cows roaming at sunset. The hill behind the fire pit is a wonderful sunset spot. You're a close drive to Antero reservoir which is a nice place to paddle board.
All-in-all it's a nice spot in a good remote area. We'd come back again, but be more prepared for high winds and strong sun and aggressive flies.

A beautiful secluded spot! We appreciated the natural beauty here and enjoyed bird watching and a gorgeous sunset. The site felt secluded but was easy to access and not far from the road. It was a fun stay on our way back to Colorado Springs.

Great place with beautiful views! Easy to find using google maps. The portapotty was clean and well stocked with toilet paper. Fire pit was nice and had option to hook up propane in the event of a fire ban. There was a bench and picnic table as well. Had a good time!

Wonderful stay! Communicative host. Recommendation: bring a pop up canopy to go over the picnic table. Our toddler had a blast climbing both hills, and our black lab was in heaven. No one else around, and (sometimes) in cell service. Would go back again for sure.

This was our second time here, and we absolutely love it. It’s so private and scenic and there are 360 views. Highly reccomend walking up the big hill in front of the fire pit at sunset for incredible views. Hope to be back a 3rd time!😊
