Welcome to Wise Oak Farm, a unique tiny house compound on 5 acres located between Santa Rosa and Sebastopol. The stay area consists of four buildings, the main one being a super cozy tiny house built on a 16' trailer, filled with custom woodwork and unique details. It sleeps up to four and has a kitchen (sink, microwave/oven, mini fridge, and propane stove) and small dining area. Immediately adjacent is a luxury "outhouse" with full sized hot shower and a composting toilet. There is an additional converted farm shed with a pull out couch and TV to relax comfortably indoors (the "rec room"). The outdoor area consists of a breakfast patio and large barn with couches and dining table.
We are just starting to develop the property as a working farm. Currently we have a dozen chickens, 30+ fruit trees, and cows pasturing in the main field.
The location is fantastic for exploring the area. In the middle of wine country, it's only a thirty minute drive to the coast or to the redwoods, and one hour from San Francisco. Plus easy access to the bike path leading to both Santa Rosa and Sebastopol.
Weather issues: The tiny house has heating but no AC, which is not normally an issue unless daytime temperatures are in the mid 90s or higher. Summer nighttime temps are usually in the 50s and the space cools rapidly with windows open. The rec room has both heating and AC, which can be slept in in the case of extreme temperatures. In the winter, heavy rainfall can make the stay unpleasant as you need to move outside frequently between buildings.

The space
The antique Indonesian cottage is made of beautifully hand carved and hand colored teak wood, and is quiet, cozy and romantic with lovely views. It abuts a large private deck and hot tub. Just a few steps across the deck is the very large, luxurious, art filled, centrally heated private bathroom and sitting area. The cottage itself is unheated although there is a premium electric mattress pad with separate controls on the California King bed. That and the hot tub make for cozy sleeping on chilly winter nights

Aside from the private deck, hot tub and bathroom/sitting room (with 6' tub and shower), guests can access 2.5 peaceful acres, woods and fields and Helen Putnam Regional Park one mile down the road for spectacular hiking.
Other things to note
In the 1970's this property was Swallowtail Studios, a famous glass blowers cooperative. The Grateful Dead played in the barn and hung out here...their manager lived just down the road. The barn is redwood, quite large and beautiful, with stained glass windows."

The Meadow Grove is a wild and natural pasture with campsites located near the historic Narrow Gauge Railroad bed on a family owned working ranch in coastal Northern California. The camp sites are nestled in a pasture and grove of mixed Eucalyptus, willow and cypress trees. The sites are perfect for tents or camper vans, or small trailers. [When we open in the spring, the grass can be 'slippery' and it is recommended you have 4WD. Around mid-June it is dried out enough for 2WD access to all sites]. Not suitable for RVs

Notes about the campsites are: They each come with a picnic table. The grounds are a working ranch, so there is variations of the soil- some lumps and bumps and general natural state of a pasture v. a groomed lawn. Site #1, #2, #3, and #4 have the most level areas for parking and tent-ing.
Up until mid-June, we recommend #1 for 2WD access. Campervans that do not have 4WD may have trouble accessing other sites. Please remember this when you book!

There is a composting camp toilet, we do not have running water at the campground.
The ranch itself is 300 acres of rolling hills pasture, with hilltop views of the Estero Americano valley. The Meadow Grove is home to many varieties of raptors and other birds-providing excellent bird watching. Seasonally there are blackberries to fill your containers, and some hiking. We are mere minutes from the quaint towns of Valley Ford, Tomales, and Dillon Beach, and a short drive from Bodega, Bodega Bay or Marshall, Pt. Reyes Station and Inverness. Nearby attractions include: Sonoma Coast beaches, Pt. Reyes National Seashore, coastal hiking trails, local farm-to-table eateries.
Inland attractions include: redwoods, wine tasting, Russian River activities and so much more.
The ranch borders Hwy 1, so there is some degree of road noise. Traffic usually dies down mid afternoon, and isn't too much of a disturbance. Virtually all traffic on our stretch of road is daytime traffic. There can be however, some heavy weekend traffic during the day with car clubs and motorcycle riders enjoying the coastal highway.

We have four lovely Glamping sites at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park and 25 miles of hiking trails, nestled in the glorious chaparral of the Mayacama Mountain Range and Sonoma Hills, deep in the heart of wine country. The cost is $150 per night on weekends (Fri and Sat) and $125 per night on weekdays (Sun-Thurs). There is a 2-night minimum stay required between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
In our family-friendly campground, our tents are 16-Foot Canvas and come with one queen-size bed, two futon lounge chairs (May be converted to twin beds), rugs, tables, lighting, and complementary firewood the first night. At no additional cost, we can add up to two twin beds to each tent upon request to sleep up to 6 people. 8 people max allowed at the campsite.
The glamping sites include a picnic table, fire ring, outdoor seating, and room for additional tents if desired. All sites are easy walking distance to flush toilets and a bathhouse, with large, clean, coin operated hot shower rooms. There is no cell service in the park, but free WiFi is available at the Visitor Center.
PLEASE NOTE that Bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets) IS NOT included in a standard rental, but is available as an add-on. Guests are encouraged to bring their own bedding whenever possible. If no bedding is added, we will assume a one-queen setup with mattress covers only. We kindly ask guests to provide at least 48-hour notice if bedding will be required. We will always try to accommodate last-minute requests, but we cannot guarantee this.
PETS and SMOKING ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE our glamping tents! This is strictly enforced, and you WILL be charged a $150 cleaning fee for any violation of this policy.
Parking: Your reservation includes parking for one vehicle. There is an additional $10 per night per vehicle charge for more than one vehicle, which you can pay for at the Visitor's Center upon check-in.
Please note that a $25 setup/cleaning fee is charged per reservation, plus a booking fee.

Originally settled and farmed in the early 1900's by a family of Italian immigrants, from who the lane is named.
One acre is our family compound, two acres are forest preserve, and the other two acres are the orchard - where the Hipcamp sites have been integrated.
The orchard has many different fruit trees including heritage Gravenstein apples that were originally planted by the family from Italy. The apples are ripe from late July to late October. The orchard borders a forest with old growth Redwoods, Douglas Fir, Bay Laurel, Oaks, and Madrone. Some wildlife passes through the orchard, especially birds.
The location offers access to a charming walk on a beautiful country lane and many hikes nearby that we can recommend. We highly encourage visiting for the Spring bloom in April and May for a temperate tropical experience.
A two minute drive to Occidental, and a twenty minute drive to the beaches of the Sonoma Coast and the Russian River. Welcome to our land in the beautiful wilderness of upper Calistoga. Our land is a nature experience, with some development of trails and amenities, at our family land just 10 minutes outside of Calistoga, with wineries, spas, and restaurants. The hilltop (where Coral Cabin is located) has electricity and wifi, and is a common area for all campers; . The main house and deck is not part of the hipcamp; the tenants are a nice family and caretakers of the land, but not the host.
Our sites are no frills, cute and rustic, and “user responsible” meaning the price includes basic “leave no trace”cleaning guidelines. Because of this, communication with Dan is super important to ensure expectations are clear for you and us, our land is respected, and you have a great time!
Rules for all sites, read before you book!
1. We provide trash bags and ask that you take all trash and recycling to the bottom of the driveway, in the 'hipcamp' trash bin provided (smaller grey bin by mailbox).
2. We have a compost toilet system designed by a graduate of the Occidental Ecology Center permaculture course. It has pros and cons, but when operated correctly, it is a good system: All you gotta do is add mulch (which is any dried leaves or grass), on top of your own biz and it begins to break down waste immediately, including smell. If in doubt, add more mulch; you can find it in a bin by the toilet or gather a handful at time of service. Or: There are also nice coffee shops in town:)
3. The nature of our land being wild, there are no wood fires allowed. We have propane fire pits, and ask guests to use extreme caution with bug candles or smoking anything.
We currently have 3 campsites. Please see descriptions for each campsite access and services available. *The Hilltop/Coral Cabin has the most access, Wi-Fi, cooking appliances, and the best views. Each campsite has a gas camping stove and compost toilet.
You will see lots of wildlife! Beautiful birds song every morning, little lizards everywhere, turkeys, a toad here and there! You can hike the extent of our 34 acres on fire roads that lead to the top of the Whaleback Ridge, seen in the distance from all camps. That would be an epic sunset hike!

This site can accommodate RVs smaller than 24ft. We are a working goat farm with goats and chickens and an operational dairy where Mt.;
Eitan makes lovely goat and cow cheese.. Since we are at the edge of a wild forested zone, predators do come down the hill at night. Unfortunaely our lovely 12 year old Anatolian shepher passed away this summer or you would have heard her on guard duty.. Bodega Bay and its restaurants and beaches are 5 miles away.
Bodega is a quaint historic town and our goat farm is at the top of a hill with exquisite views of the coastal hills on 3 sides. Nearby is the church and schoolhouse made famous by Alfred Hitchcock. Bodega Bay and its restaurants and beaches are just 5 miles away and the views from the ranch of the surrounding hills is quite lovely.
This is a working goat farm so althoiugh we now can allow you to bring your pet dogs, they must be on a leash at all times not to alarm our goats who come up from the pasture for morning and night feedings.

The family and i just had a wonderful stay on Honey Island. Our co-host, Julie, was there to greet us upon arrival and was super nice.
We camped on the big lawn area, which was nice and shady and close to the toilets.
The location is ideal with calm deeper water in front, but the fun "rapids" to tube down around the island. We will definitely stay again!

If I could give Sam’s Olive Farm ten stars, I would. This getaway was everything we needed and so much more. As a parent, I was incredibly nervous about taking my daughters camping alone for the first time, but this experience couldn't have been more perfect.The amenities here completely elevated the entire experience. We had two immaculately clean port-a-potties right nearby (no walking a mile in the dark!) and running water! Made washing dishes a breeze! The shower was an absolute lifesaver on such a hot day—it was incredibly refreshing, and much to my disbelief, both of my daughters actually used it willingly! The cabin itself made the stay feel luxurious while keeping that authentic, rustic charm.The property is stunning. Nothing can prepare you for the awe-inspiring gasp when you walk up the hill and see the gorgeous pond for the very first time. We honestly felt just like Ariel in The Little Mermaid while rowing around in the little rowboat. Whenever the day got too warm, there was always a perfect shady escape right by the water with the absolute ideal trees to hang up a hammock. .It is such a magnificent gift that Sam shares this beautiful family land with the public. What makes it even more special is his policy of only hosting one guest group at a time. It gave us a truly exclusive, private, and safe experience to bond and reset. Sam has created a paradise here, though I genuinely fear my girls are in for a massive disappointment the next time we go camping!

Almost like camping but with a comfy bed, coffee maker and fridge, and not far from town, it was a beautiful (the view!) quiet place to get away to with our dogs. Dan’s directions were clear and he is a friendly, responsive host. Strongly recommend!

We had a fantastic stay at the Sugarloaf Ridge glamping site. The facilities and campground were exceptionally clean and well maintained, and it was obvious that the staff take a lot of pride in keeping everything in great shape. Everyone we interacted with was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful.
One of our favorite parts was the easy access to Sonoma Creek. It was a wonderful place to explore, and we saw an incredible amount of wildlife throughout our stay, making every walk feel like a new adventure.
The absolute highlight was the Fourth of July night hike to Bald Mountain. We were blown away by the amount of effort the park staff and volunteers put into making the evening such a fun, memorable, and educational experience. From the organization to the activities and the enthusiasm of everyone involved, it was clear how much they care about helping visitors connect with the park.
If you’re looking for a beautiful place to camp or glamp in Sonoma County, Sugarloaf Ridge is an easy recommendation. We’ll definitely be back!

It was a lovely site, peaceful and surrounded by gently lowing cows. The cool evening mist and complete absence of any fireworks noise was a huge relief for our dogs.

Weekend Trip to Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Glamping
My first glamping experience was very good. I really liked the tent—it was spacious and cozy. Inside, we had a queen bed and four chairs, plus four chairs outside and firewood for the campfire. The glamping tents were set up fairly close to each other on smaller sites, which was the only small downside. Other than that, everything was really cool and relaxing.

I spent this 4th of July weekend at Anna’s campground with 26 people and we honestly could have easily set up our tents at Site 4.
It’s so spacious and flat, enough room to spread out and toss a football around. We had a great time and I look forward to staying here again in the future.

We loved the quail nest! It was a lot more tucked away than the other sites, with a lovely view through the plum trees. Very sweet spot, the self serve farm store was great too! Thank you, we’ll return for sure :)

Had a great stay! Guido was very friendly and welcoming. It was nice to purchase steaks from the farm stand for dinner. We stayed at the Goose Nest site which was nice and had running water, a table, and fire ring.

Incredible place for tent camping! I wanted to share some details I would like to know when tent camping.
Biggest thing, its as whisper quiet and peaceful as you could hope and dream. Its a farm, the camping spot is on a hill in a stand of trees that's very carefully maintained.
Hosts are awesome, super responsive whenever I asked a question before we got there.
Bathrooms are awesome, even though a 5min walk. The reason they're so nice is the farm hosts weddings, and they build a proper bathroom building, standalone, that has 3 bathrooms in it, meant to be nice enough for wedding guests. No porta potties here, its really really nice. Just know its a little walk.
Water source - you'll ideally have a camping jug, 5 gal or something, because the water source is 150 yrd walk, flat. No biggie, but just have a jug, or even 1 gallon jugs from a grocery store that you can refill. Thse little details help!
Weather - being up on a knoll, there was an afternoon breeze (July 4th cool spell), so we were very glad I had proper pants, jacket and hat. 7 year old and mom were all fine. What won't work is having just jeans and a fleece. If you're not from the Bay, just know a crisp breeze anywhere within a few miles of the Pacific means its crisp.
Nearby Doran beach has showers at the public campsite that are quarter operated! Key if you visit with kids, get sandy and salty, and need to rinse.
General store in Valley Ford, and Tomales! Bodega Bay Oyster company, get 'em!

Our group loved staying on this site! There were multiple places to pitch tents in the shade and the pond had plenty of fish to catch. Sam was communicative and friendly. We can’t wait to book this site again!
