For enhanced protection we ask that a waiver be signed. Security cameras are on site. While respecting your privacy, we can be seen improving the property. The terrain is hilly and staying on paths limits poison oak exposure. Vega Vortex has been called a Park and Machu Picchu due to the amphitheater landscaping of terracing. Practicing permaculture, a diversity of pollinating plants/ flowers, organic garden and art features exist. Our two campsites include water and electric hookups, and are only appropriate for self-contained recreational vehicles and trailers (no tent camping). You will not have another camper next to you! There are no size constraint on RVs or trailers. We have plenty of room for a second vehicle. We do offer a port-a potty. Cell service is very good. The Valley View site can be expanded to two sites, both with water and power hookups. The second site (Valley View 2) can only be booked together with Valley View - please inquire if interested. This is helpful for guests who have separate rigs but want to be close to each other. Our property is a great base camp for your Santa Cruz and Monterey County adventures! Come and camp like its 1949 in our retro Boles Aero trailer at Fern Ridge Camper. Much like Airstream, Boles Aero was building top of the line campers out of aircraft grade aluminum; providing chill vibes and highly functional spaces. Come enjoy our blast from the past in our completely original Boles Aero trailer. Apart from the camper itself, which sleeps two comfortably, our site comes equipped with outdoor dining, string lights, and a fire pit to enjoy the stars. Situated at the front of our property, the camper provides a private feel, while still being conveniently located. 10 minutes from town, 15 minutes from the closest beach, and 30 minutes from the beach boardwalk our site is close enough to all Santa Cruz has to offer, while secluded enough to enjoy the natural spaces unique to the Santa Cruz mountains.

Beautiful serene spot in the woods. Loved waking up to the sounds of nature. Woodpeckers especially. Owls at night. We very much enjoyed the gas fire pit. Burns cleaner and added warmth to a cozy night. Clean site and facilities.

Nice peaceful spot. Lots of distance from the other campsite, and a lovely view of the strawberries. There’s a little road noise in the site closer to the road, but it’s only occasional, and not too loud – all the trees help with that. And the location was very convenient for a visit to Aptos. Would come back.

My husband and I had such an amazing weekend! Robin welcomed us with freshly baked cookies and eggs from her ‘girls’. Robin and Ray are great hosts and have thought of everything for the campsite. It’s well-appointed with water, and electrical hookups, a sink, garbage cans and recycling, a fire pit, chairs and a picnic table. The sites are very spacious with lovely field views and the beach is less than an 8 minute walk. We can’t wait to return!

The tent cabins are built on the side of a steep hill so the trails down to them are rugged, but there are steps and railings to assist. The cabins are very comfortable and have everything you need. The goats are fun to interact with. The eggs from the chickens are really good. The view is spectacular and the hosts are extremely accommodating.

my partner and i stayed at Sana's camp for our anniversary, and it was the most perfect overnight trip to celebrate! even before arriving, Sana had been very responsive to any questions i had and was very prompt with responses throughout our stay as well. the moment we arrived, we were greeted by their friendly cat (the best way to start the stay) and then Sana welcomed us and showed us around. we were immediately enamoured with the charm of the place, and the view from our tent was so beautiful! the campsite amenities were thoughtful, comprehensive, and clean. i don't think i'd ever been camping with such clean and tidy amenities before! and they even had complimentary eggs for us from their chicken coop! so sweet! each tent was far enough from each other to offer ample privacy while also not feeling too isolated. our tent specifically came with a rope hammock to lay in! this is indeed a very romantic spot so perfect for any couples celebrating. i would definitely visit again and recommend to my friends! thank you Sana! :)

I stayed in Tent #2 with my sister and it exceeded our expectations. The view was unreal, everything was so clean, bed was comfortable and only a short little inclined walk to the bathroom. William came and lit the fire for us at the lookout so we could watch the sun set over the pacific. I highly recommend this site!

1 night at #2 HMB Highway Overnight Rest Stop

Stayed at “Sight 2”; corner directly across from mini house. Potable water outlet on the side of mini house & was great to refill our limited water storage after showering with our propane camp shower! Outhouse was exceptionally clean & plenty of room for our F150 with RTT. Entrance is not on a side street so keep an eye out for turn off the main highway. Only negative is the roosters sounding off at 4:30 from neighbors. Super convenient & affordable spot considering the limited options around the city & the coast. Would 100% stay again, couldn’t have asked for a better spot for our trip.

Exactly what I wanted. Easy to access and quiet property with great views. The meadow is above the typical fog line so sunsets should be amazing and mornings should be bright and sunny. Art is super friendly and helpful.

Had a great experience camping here! The bathrooms can be a little bit of a walk from some of the sites, but I was impressed that the bathrooms were very clean and well stocked. I was extra impressed with the porta-potty’s automatic lights that flicked on when it was dark as well as the sink for hand washing outside. This is a great place to camp if you have a large group since there are a lot of sites that can easily be combined. I’d recommend to arrive early if coming with a group and looking to combine sites since the sites are first come first serve. Lake Del Valle was about 25 min drive away and there were several wineries within 1-15 minute drive. There was even a dispensary 6 minutes away which was a pleasant surprise.
