Weekend Trip to Butterfly Landing🦋🦋🦋

We had a lovely weekend in the green room at Camp Butterfly. We enjoyed sitting on our little deck playing cards, and listening to the turkey and coyotes at night.the bed was comfortable and the room cozy, we loved the hot outdoor shower and fully equipt outdoor kitchen. Location was great to wine taste and go to Mendo. Would love to return sometime soon!

We held a class camping trip here, and everyone had a good time. The spot is gorgeous, and it's extra nice to have it to yourself. The pond was a big attraction. All the facilities were presented with care and Sam was the perfect host.

Weekend Trip to The Olive Farm

A group of families camped together at the Olive Farm this past weekend. It was such a lovely experience! The site is really ideal for families and kids. It feels surprisingly secluded considering how centrally located it is. The sweet pond is at the top of a little hill, above the main site. This small separation means it's easier to keep an eye on little kids who you might not want to be near the water without adult supervision. (Easy rule - don't go up the hill without an adult.) We brought our SUPs and had a great time paddling the kids around. They "almost" caught a fish that was "as big as my whole body" LOL. I went up there early one morning and saw a gorgeous, huge heron hanging out and looking for his morning snack. The water from the sink was fresh and tasted good. The little cabin is really nicely appointed and the adirondack chairs on the deck are perfect for an afternoon lounge with a beverage. The port-a-potties were some of the cleanest I have ever seen. There were a couple things we brought with us that were helpful - 1) a couple folding tables for the sink area to make kitchen prep easier, and 2) a shade structure to put over the picnic tables during the heat of the day. We used the solar string lights for about 3 hours on Friday night, which meant they only lasted about an hour and a half on Saturday night. But great to have lights at all! Sam was a great host, super responsive. We will absolutely be back!

1 night at Pickle Barrel Cabin and Camp

Host was very responsive and accommodating to a last minute request to stay in the cabin. I'm so glad we did! It was cozy and much larger than expected! The fireplace kept us warm all night and the bed was so comfortable. Would highly recommend staying here and I hope to again in the future!

Redwood and knotty pine hand crafted 31' high tree cabin accessible by ladder only for those 18 years and older. There is a portable toilet on the wraparound deck and an electric luggage lift to get your gear up there safely. It has power and heat and a coffee maker, mini fridge, coffee, and tea. Also some cozy hooded rubs to make your way down to the hot tub in.

An unforgettable experience! Can’t recommend the treehouse enough. Every touch was so thoughtful and considered. The charming nearby town of Occidental was a great place to bop around and enjoy dinner. Miss J was a great and responsive host. Can’t wait to come back!

We loved having access to a fire pit and the campsite is super dog friendly. I liked how easy it was to find a spot for our car and it's very easy to pitch a tent here. We had an awesome time. Thank you, G!

Weekend Trip to Pickle Barrel Cabin and Camp

What a gem in the heart of the forest yet 15 minutes from all you need to glam it up at the Pickle Barrel. The view is lovely, the pot belly stove is amazing, and being tucked away in the woods is what we all need to reset. We enjoyed exploring the beautiful Mendo coast and retreating to the campsite after long days. The composting toilet is incredible - no smell, easy to use, and convenient.

Check in and check out was super easy! Paul’s property is beautiful and was a great escape for the weekend. The bed was super comfortable as we watched the sunrise and sunsets!

Weekend Trip to The Olive Farm

We had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday with family and friends, including furry ones and toddlers. It was great to see everyone enjoying their time together under the starlit sky, or playing near the water. The potable water from the sink is very tasty and handy for cleaning dishes. The only suggestions I would make would be to get a second paddle for the boat, put a flag up in the grassy area where the pipe sticks out to keep wheels safe, add some blankets to the cabin, and have more power in the battery for the string lights. They went out after 45 mins or so and we had to keep turning them back on, sometimes with no luck. But other than that, it was a dreamy stay and the perfect location for making priceless memories with loved ones! And we can't wait to try the olive oil! We hope to return again <3

1 night at The Olive Farm

It was a very relaxing experience and loved how private it felt, compared to other times we’ve been camping on shared grounds. Our sons ran free and had a blast. Adding the cabin was better than expected, one of our sons is autistic and having that cabin available where he was able to relax “at home” was the cherry on top for us. Thanks Sam for opening your space for us to create more memories. Cannot wait to book again!

Exactly as presented. Sweet little cabin with electricity. The mattress was really comfortable. Outdoor fire pit and tables. Compost toilet was odor free. Less than 15 mins to Point Arena and Gualala. Hope to be back.

Weekend Trip to Moon Bear Lodge

We loved the tree house! We had such a magical time together here— from star gazing in the hot tub, to creature sightings (we saw a little fox and a skunk), drinking hot coco in the robes they provided, and soaking up the beauty of the redwoods and wild flowers! Jessica and her family were the most incredible hosts! They even sent us home with a bag of freshly picked Santa Rosa lemons. We had the most magical time and will certainly be back to this incredible oasis!

Butterfly Landin A Place to Land. Breathe. Slow way down. Enjoy. Please read this Description in entirety. We are so delighted to share this spot with you. This is a shared campground with 3 separate spots that are relatively private. Host will NOT be there when you arrive unless prior arrangement made. This campground is yours to enjoy. The expectation is 'leave it better than before so the next guests may enjoy! This is camping. BRING YOUR OWN GEAR. Put your own linens and bedding on top of what is already on bed. I can provide linens and bedding for an extra $25 for glamping spots. Beds have pillows on them. There is wildlife. This includes bears and mountain lions in the area. You will not see either but good to be aware they exist. This is a safe 'neighborhood'. We do not have problems with thievery. However, always keep your valuables safe IN YOUR CAR. There is no Power. No WiFi. Cell phone coverage not guaranteed. Depends on your carrier. DOWNLOAD DIRECTIONS AND INFO BEFORE ARRIVING TO SITE. There is Poison Oak. Stay in the designated areas. If you are susceptible, bring and wash with Tecnu. Or use dish soap and wash. Poison oak is an oil. Most importantly: Don't Touch. No Fires allowed during Summer months. Be super careful. No candles. Smoke in fire pit area. Grass is a tinderbox. 1 spark can ignite all. There is a hose connected to kitchen. There is a Pet Fee of $25 per stay. 1 pet per site allowed unless prior arrangement made. You are responsible to clean up after your pet and to make sure pet is safe and respectful to neighbors. This means you DO NOT leave your pet unattended, and is leashed at all times. If your pet is barking continuously, we ask that you leave. It is not respectful for all other neighbors. Please bring your own bed for your dogs and clean up after a shedding dog if you are indoors. We ask that guests clean up your camping spot upon departure to 'make the place better than before' for the next guests. Butterfly Landing is a sweet landing spot! Birds, butterflies and small wildlife love this spot. The habitat includes many native species of plant life. A pretty knoll that is on the top of a 40 acre property. Views of vineyards, redwood trees, valley floor, and expansive sky. Private, Quiet and beautiful. A central sunny meadow ties together 3 distinct private areas with a communal kitchen, bath-house, picnic-table sitting area and parking on the side. There is 1 outhouse that has a mailbox system to ensure privacy. (Please read manual on picnic table for instructions) Kitchen. 2 burner propane stove, and sink with running water (cold). (Good for drinking. Pressure is low) There is basic cooking and dishware. Cleaning supplies. A Trash and Recycle Bin. And a Compost bucket where all food scraps should be disposed of and then covered with wood-chips. Kitchen should stay clean at all times. Please put dishes away in the tote to keep clean and critter free. Bath-house. Shower with hot water. 1 shared Outhouse. Please use the path that goes to the outhouse (unless you are in the Greenroom) and make sure you put the mailbox red flag up so that others know it is occupied. ((Then don't forget to put it back down!!) Common sitting area. There are 2 picnic tables, Lots of umbrellas that can be moved wherever, a fire pit/table and lots of seating. Parking. There are room for 3 vehicles. Parking is to be in designated parking area please. Sunny meadow and forest shade make this a lovely landing spot to relax and enjoy nature, and a great opportunity to turn off those cell phones!! Butterfly Landing is about 1/2 mile from HWY 128 that runs through Anderson Valley. This location is the perfect location for it all. Wine tasting in the Valley, Navarro River swimming during the summer months, and the Mendocino coast is nearby. This is an Honor system camping spot. We ask that you leave your spot 'better than before', as in 'Leaver no Trace'. I rely on everyone to do their part in the communal kitchen to keep clean and free of critters. SUPER IMPORTANT to put all food scraps in the compost bin. NO food anything in the trash. This is how the bears show up. Please do your part. Thank you so much. It is my honor to share this land with you.

This 10 acre property is located on the coastal ridge, often above the fog. You will be on the Pacific plate looking across to the North American plate, looking down on the San Andreas fault! Near artsy, coastal towns. Wonderful location for relaxing after a day of hiking and exploring beaches and forests.. In the winter months, it can provide a peaceful retreat and often dramatic storm watching. Peaceful, security-gated property with a campsite for RV's/tent camping for maximum of 6, and the charming Pickle Barrel cabin for 2 is available. You can book either one or both. Either way, you will have the entire site for your stay. Outside wood campfires are allowed unless there is a fire ban, propane fire pits are allowed year round. Hot showers are available 15 minutes away with purchase of a day pass and quarters. The owners and their dog live on site about 50 yards away. You may see us doing our walks. Centrally located. 10 minutes from beaches, rivers, state parks, Stornetta Lands National Monument, and towns, i.e., Gualala, Point Arena, or Anchor Bay.
