Happy to announce a completely private camping experience! Just you and your invited guests/crew. I have made this decision based on campers staying by themselves and having outstanding positive feedback. Make all the noise you want while not having to worry about any neighbors.

World class stargazing, no light pollution. Guests have been posting amazing shots, much appreciated. Really incredible how many stars come out.

Sandy areas to pitch your tent next to many Jacob Trees (Ocotillos) for natural shade.

There is now a dry outhouse! See the pictures. Bring your own TP and glad trash bags. Please store and take waste with you.

Park at your campsite. Set up next to the fire pit. Raw and rugged, only surrounded by nature.

360° view of mountains. World class hiking, many summits to choose from nearby.

You will have cell phone reception to stay connected. All carriers work.

Truly enjoy the quiet only hear the sound of the wind. Cannot hear the freeway from campsite.

The tranquility is healing. Perfect for soul searching. Get away from civilization.

Endless flora and fauna to observe and enjoy. Be aware of the baby flora, can be overlooked and stepped on. Bring your own firewood.

20 acre private property. Surrounded by Orocopia Mountains as the backyard and Joshua Tree National Park across the freeway. Southern entrance to the park is the next exit over about 5 miles away.

Benjamin’s land is beautiful. Peaceful, raw.. exactly the kind of escape we needed from the city. We got lucky and there were not any other campers in the other lot so we had the place to ourselves. We hiked around the mountains on the property and just enjoyed the pure serenity of the place. The stars are incredible and worth the trip on their own.
The road is rough and the site can be hard to find initially but completely worth it. Definitely recommend 4x4 vehicles only. Make sure you have everything you need because it’s ~30min drive in and out.
The site is close to the southern entrance of Joshua tree national park but there are not any Joshua trees on the property so don’t go with that expectation.
10/10 recommend overall!! And be sure to LNT.

Thank you so much for your kind words! You are welcome back any time. I've been thinking about changing the name to 'Jacob Tree Camping' in honor of the Ocotillos on the property.

Ben’s land is great! He is working to make it even more inviting by adding a few new features for campers. Currently there are two separate sites with fire pits, both have plenty of room for multiple tents. We happened to book a night when Ben, the owner, was there so both sites were in use. Ben was a considerate neighbor and even brought us some ice when the closest gas station was out! I definitely hope to camp here again, I look forward to the improvements that Ben is planning! Thanks for sharing this great camp!

Benjamin met us close by and guided us through the jeep road to the campsite and walked us around. There's not a lot to it (not that there should be), but it was very clean, well kept, and spacious. You're far enough away from the interstate that you barely hear it. I mean barely. There is very little light pollution and the stars shined bright.

Ben was very accommodating, since we arrived late to the meeting point to have him escort us to the site. The drive itself to the site is a bit tricky to do at night, but we managed to save directions. I highly recommend taking a 4x4 or AWD because the terrain varies from loose sand and lifted areas that I feel most 4x2 vehicles would have issues traversing.

Regardless of the drive the site is very secluded and great to have some friend bring an RV or Tent to set up and enjoy the stargazing nights and the offroading options nearby. No bathrooms or other amenities but we knew that going in. There is a gas station and some decent food spots.

Such a gorgeous and secluded location. The best camping experience I’ve had in Joshua Tree. Benjamin was an incredible host, super responsive and even bailed us out of the sand when we got stuck (don’t attempt this road without AWD or an off road vehicle!!)
We had a lovely time camping and I would definitely return.

This was a great camp site. Benjamin is excellent host. He stayed on the phone with us and walked us through the turns to the campsite. There was a nice, solid, raised outhouse on site. Definitely camping here again.
