This is a primitive campground that I want to share with others. It’s a beautiful property located on the bank of the Rio Grande River with access to the river at all times. Although it’s a bit rustic I want to keep it as natural possible. I hope you will come enjoy this native area as much as I do.
Hatch, NM, the Chile Capital of the World, is just 14 miles north. come during chile harvest to take home fresh green chile right out of the field.
21 miles from Las Cruces, where you will find plenty of events and entertainment, should you so desire. Spaceport America, T or C, White Sands are all within a day's drive, and Fort Selden is just a few miles down the road, as is Blue Moon Bar and Grill.
My dad first came to this property as a farm hand for the elderly couple who owned it. This was in the 1930's. He met my mother, who lived 6 miles down the road, in 1939. She was just 14. Every Sunday he would ride those 6 miles to have supper with her and her family and in 1940, 2 weeks after her 16th birthday, they married. They traveled around before coming back here, buying a small portion of this farm from the elderly owners and farming the rest for them. In 1953, the man died (his name was Ernest Ward) in the small concrete house I now use for storage, that my dad had built for he and his wife when he first came to work for them. My parents built a home for his widow in Hatch (14 miles) and bought the farm from her. My family has owned it since. I was gone for 31 years, but returned to the land and place I love and plan to stay here till I die!

This composting toilet works by automatically separating liquids from solids . Just follow the directions below.
Men please sit for every use.
1. Lift seat to place a filter over the opening to catch solids. Toilet paper is disposed of in the toilet.
The lever on the side can be opened to allow solids to pass through into the lower half, and closed again to hide the contents.
2. After use turn the lever on the side ( ) to open solids container.
3. When finished close the opening in the bowl. Then, turn the handle on the ( ) side to mix solids and peat moss. Shut lid and leave. NO FLUSHING IS NEEDED.
The only things that should go into your composting toilet are your poos and pees and toilet paper.
PLEASE PUT FEMININE PRODUCTS AND OTHER WASTE IN THE TRASH.

Desert Critters: The dome is on a regular professional pest control plan! However, because we are nestled right in the high desert, an occasional curious bug might still pop in to say hello—it's just a natural part of desert living. Keeping doors closed helps keep them outside where they belong!

Bill Evans Lake Sits about 80 Miles NW of Deming it is home of the biggest bass ever caught at 15 ls 13 oz and 26.5 inches long.
The property and surrounding views, Mito Road, Caminto Road, Solindo Road and El Ensueno Road are all decent bladed Roads. They sit just south of El Bordo Road, the main drag off Franklyn Road and there is a cable box along El Bordo.
Take NM 549 to Franklyn Road. Head south 2.5 miles to El Bordo Rd then head East 1.5 miles to Mito Road. USE THE GPS.
The property located in Luna County about 45 minutes from West of Las Cruces NM, it's a rural countryside setting off Franklyn Rd about 20 minutes SE of Deming.
I suggest you bring a dedicated GPS like a Garman and more reliable then your phone. Be smart print out map, bring a shovel, water, food blankets, mace, a dog and anything else you might need if you get stuck for a day or two.

This was our second time staying here. It's a wonderful space with great full hookups, expansive views, privacy and very easy access to the major east-west and north-south routes. We got to meet Ray and Lucille and their friendly dogs this time, and Lucille gifted us with delicious pecans grown on their farm. Wholeheartedly recommend!

This was a great site! A little ways out but worth the drive. They had to sweet dogs that greeted up and got belly rubs from my kids. Communication was great with the owner as well as instructions

Ray and Lucille are great. They were very accommodating and responsive. They always answered any questions we had and made sure we were comfortable. The site is in a beautiful and peaceful location away from the city hustle and bustle but close enough to anything a person could need. We will definitely be booking with them again

The dome was great! We loved the open floor plan and hearing the birds from all sides of the house. The space was great, and the outside area was awesome to enjoy the sun. We enjoyed our stay at this hipcamp!

Lawrence and Dina are the sweetest hosts, they made me feel welcomed and right at home. Perfect place to stop on my way across the state. The night sky was filled with stars and Lawrence even told me where to look to see Venus and Jupiter!

Very nice campground. Friends recommended it to me, and I’m glad they did. Front desk folks were terrific. Weather was hot so very few other campers were ever outside, so a pretty silent feel. I don’t have a dog, but I chatted with a couple of aussies that told me they liked the dog park.

Unfortunately, govt shutdown cancelled some events there and the office was closed. Beautiful views and hiking trails aplenty.
