Learn more about this land:Relax and be inspired during your stay in the renovated Winnebago at, The Western Star. This is a quaint, cozy space designed and decorated with a mix of natural materials, old desert wood and old metal found on the property or nearby. There are 2 beds (full and a twin), 10 ft sloped ceiling, sink with cold running water- no hot water, flushing toilet, mini-refrigerator, electric 2 burner stove, toaster oven, heater, plates, forks, cups, cookware and electricity. There are curtains and sun blockers for privacy. When you wake up in the morning you will watch the sun rise over Turtleback Mountain. 1 block away is the Rio Grande and Rotary Park. It's 4 blocks to the main. Located in the downtown area and hot springs district, the property has a well that draws out the hot springs at about 98 degrees and pours it in to an outdoor tub- perfect for a warm winter day or summer evenings. It can be reserved for an additional fee upon arrival. 4 blocks from the downtown area you can easily access other spas, restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries, thrift shops, and the grocery store. Wake up in the morning, walk down to the river and you'll see heron, coots, osprey, sandhill crane, red wing black birds, and so many more wildlife. The coyotes regularly sing throughout the night.  I tend the property and you may see me around if I need to do light repair work. There is a care taker for the property who lives there and may be another guest as well. The property is 1/2 a city block. Your living quarters are private but the land is shared space. I'm available to engage if desired and I respect your privacy. The property is 6 city lots large and you will have access to 4 of them. Dogs are allowed for an additional fee. You must be responsible to clean up after them and they must be friendly with strangers.

New to Hipcamp, but want to share my beautiful property with others. Located on the bank of the Rio Grande River with access to the river at all times. Property is rustic now, but improvements will continue to be made as time goes on. Come help me develop this beautiful location into the best Hipcamp in New Mexico. Just 14 miles of the Chile Capital of the World, Hatch, NM, come during chile harvest to take home fresh green chile right out of the field. 21 miles from Las Cruces, where you will find plenty of events and entertainment, should you so desire. Spaceport, America, T or C, White Sands are all within a day's drive, and Fort Selden is just a few miles down the road, as is Blue Moon Bar and Grill. My dad first came to this property as a farm hand for the elderly couple who owned it. This was in the 1930's. He met my mother, who lived 6 miles down the road, in 1939. She was just 14. Every Sunday he would ride those 6 miles to have supper with her and her family and in 1940, 2 weeks after her 16th birthday, they married. They traveled around before coming back here, buying a small portion of this farm from the elderly owners and farming the rest for them, but in 1953, the man died (his name was Ernest Ward) in the small concrete house I now use for storage, that my dad had built for he and his wife when he first came to work for them. My parents built a home for his widow in Hatch (14 miles) and bought the farm from her. My family has owned it since. I was gone for 31 years, but returned to the land and place I love and plan to stay here till I die!

Faywood Hot Springs

1 site · Faywood, NM
Faywood Hot Springs stands out as a unique natural geothermal oasis nestled in the high desert of southwestern New Mexico, conveniently located between Silver City and Deming. This enchanting destination has captivated visitors for centuries with its soothing, healing waters. From prehistoric peoples and Spanish explorers to weary travelers, soldiers, miners, health enthusiasts, and countless visitors from around the world, Faywood Hot Springs has long been a sanctuary for those seeking relaxation and rejuvenation. The hot springs emerge from a distinctive mound of tufa, a geological formation created over millennia by the continuous flow of mineral-rich water. This remarkable dome is a remnant of the region's tumultuous volcanic past, which also gave rise to the nearby City of Rocks State Park. Evidence suggests that ancient peoples revered these springs as sacred healing sites, with circular depressions and mortar holes indicating their early use by nomadic hunter-gatherers. Artifacts such as pottery found in the area further confirm that the Mimbres pueblo villagers and later the Apaches recognized the springs' restorative properties, making it a favored stop before their seasonal migrations to the mountains. Visitors to Faywood Hot Springs can enjoy a variety of amenities, including natural soaking pools that provide a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With 23 RV spaces available for rent, along with 15 covered storage units and 10 outdoor storage rentals, our campground is designed to cater to all your needs. One of the standout features of our property is the stunning Paulownia Trees, also known as the Grand Empress Tree. These magnificent trees bloom trumpet-shaped flowers that emit a heavenly fragrance reminiscent of lavender, lilac, and strawberries. Their bloom season begins around April 1st and lasts for three to four weeks, creating a captivating atmosphere. Originating from 14th Century Feudal Japan, where only the Grand Empress was permitted to cultivate them, these trees are now cherished for their beauty and shade. In addition to the Paulownia Trees, our park boasts around 200 diverse tree species, including non-fruiting mulberries, weeping willows, desert willows, arbor vitae, Arizona blue spruces, and even a pecan tree. The landscape is further enhanced by a variety of plants, such as our state flower, yuccas, colorful rosebushes, cacti, and a thriving grapevine. Our RV park is not just a place to stay; it’s a
