Welcome to Prehistoric Sunsets Prehistoric Sunsets is a peaceful rural camping retreat with wide-open skies, green fields, mountain views, and beautiful New Mexico sunsets. Located just 8 minutes from I-10, it is a quiet country escape with easy access to Las Cruces, outdoor recreation, local attractions, and everyday essentials. Relax under the stars, enjoy the fresh air, and wake up surrounded by the natural beauty of the Mesilla Valley. The Rio Grande is about a half-mile away, offering a peaceful setting for birdwatching and river activities. Nearby adventures - Prehistoric Trackways National Monument — 3–5 miles away; explore ancient fossil tracks in the Robledo Mountains. - Picacho Peak Recreation Area— about ½ mile away; enjoy hiking, biking, horseback riding, rock hounding, and desert views. - Local biking and outdoor trails — about ⅓ mile away, with nearby BLM recreation areas and open desert terrain. - Slot Canyon / Robledo Mountains area — about 17 miles away; enjoy scenic desert hiking and rock formations. - Organ Mountains–Desert Peaks National Monument — enjoy mountain views, hiking, biking, wildlife, photography, and historic desert landscapes. - Butterfield Trail— explore nearby historic trail and desert country. - Shooting-range and off-road areas — nearby access for outdoor recreation. Rig suitability
Vehicles under 30 feet allowed
There is water available via water hose. A porta potty is also available upon request. There are electrical outlets via extension cords for use. There is no waste dumping on site. Please be mindful of leach line when pulling in.
Allowed rigs: travel trailers, toy haulers, pop-up campers, class A RVs, class B RVs, class C RVs, campervans, cars, truck campers, and rooftop tents
Quiet hours are between 10:00 pm and 5:00 am. There is lighting available on the property and picnic tables for use. All Pets must be kept on leash while on property.

You can pull in or pull through there is a farm access road off the back of the property.

This is a dry camping site only there is electricity that can power small appliances via the extension cords provided

Ground is fairly level but may need some leveling for bigger trailers.

Quiet hours are between 10:00 pm and 5:00 am. There is lighting available on the property and picnic tables for use. All Pets must be kept on leash while on property.

On leash. All pets must be kept on leash. Please clean up after your dog Trash cans on site will be provided for baggedpoo. Bags not provided. Small animal enclosure available upon request.

A camp toilet is available if needed at an additional cost to replenish supplies.
Potable water available
Hose, pump or well. There is well water on site we use that mostly for irrigation and has not been tested for consumption. The water hose that comes directly from the house is potable.

Hot water , cold water only. Showers are available in home upon scheduled request. Female campers only.
Bins available
Trash bin. There are trash bins located on property.
Picnic table present
There are also fold up tables available upon request.
