RV camping with full hookups in New Mexico

This was a very interesting find! Thanks hip camp! The owner was very friendly and responsive just as the reviews say he is. The art work and lit up trails made for an interesting walk with our dogs. We camped right outside my favorite art piece "Facing the Fear Beast." A nice, secluded spot tucked away. It was definitely worth the extra 3-4 hour drive to stay on the way home from our trip! Highly recommend if you appreciate art.

This campsite was like a fever dream. An awesome fever dream with giant lit up sculptures, spotless toilets and glorious outdoor showers with piping hot water. We stopped here in our campervan just for one night and was definitely worth it. Great campsite, cool art, great outdoor kitchen to use. We were bummed to miss out on the hot tub and sauna, which are only open on weekends. If you are on the fence, just do it and stay here. (Be sure to take a close up look at the Fear Beast. It’s incredible.)

10 out of 5 stars—seriously. Art City is one of those rare places that feels like a destination in itself. You’ll want at least two nights here—there’s so much to explore during the day, but the real magic happens at night when everything lights up. The included showers and communal kitchen area were a great touch, and made the stay feel super comfortable. We’ll definitely be back!

Art City is absolutely perfect for a camper or a glamper. It's perfectly located the artworks incredible hospitality wonderful. The amenities are well worth it so thank you for being a part of my health journey. I highly suggest doing the spa pass and don't forget to walk the trails to see all the art. Beningno was super helpful and even brought me an aloe plant for my burn. Love this place and would stay again!

1 night at Lobo Canyon Mountain View Camping

This is a great spot for people who love art, it is especially magical after dark when all of the sculptures are lit. The tent/ van campsites are nice, water and electric close by. Although we didn't use the hot tub, sauna, or kitchen facilities they were really well designed and clean. We would highly recommend!

David’s space was very peaceful. The spot is far enough from the main house to feel private. We didn’t see any other people during our stay, and we enjoyed the peace and quiet in the beautiful surroundings. Being able to have water, electric and dump in this remote location was a huge perk. We would definitely return if we were in the area!

2 nights at Art City Tucumcari

Art City is truly a one-of-a-kind experience! The hosts were incredibly kind, and the art throughout the property was simply breathtaking. It's evident that a lot of thought and care went into every detail of the facilities, right down to the bathrooms, which perfectly blend form and function. The communal areas, including the kitchen, showers, sauna, and hot tub, were all beautifully designed. The open-air shower, in particular, was a blissful experience. The entire property is pristine and meticulously maintained. As someone who usually boondocks, having access to electricity felt like a real luxury. It's wonderful that a place like this offers both water and shore power. If you’re driving through New Mexico, this is a must see! Be sure to give yourself a couple of nights to properly experience all of the wonders this special place has to offer.

What an amazing stay! I was just driving through Tucumcari when a billboard for Art City caught my eye. I drive right there, booked right outside the gate and was in my RV spot within 15 minutes. It’s so fun walking around during the day but it was completely magical at night. Larger than life art by some very talented artists. The sauna was the cherry on top. I’d stay again!

1 night at Hot Springs Glamp Camp

This was my second time staying overnight at Art City and I loved it just as much as the first time. Since I was last there, they’ve already been working on putting up more art and prepping for a mini skatepark they plan to build. The coolest folks and well maintained, comfortable and beautiful space.

In the middle of town, this tiny oasis has nice hot springs soaks and clean private sites.

4 nights at Art City Tucumcari

Art City is a very unique and interesting stay. The art installations are amazing, and when they are lit up at night, WOW! They provide a communal kitchen with oven and refrigerator. Two outside (enclosed) showers with on demand water. You can also reserve their wood-fired hot tub or sauna (in advance). Both are located in a beautiful outside communal setting. There are also flush toilet restrooms, and composting toilets available. We walked the grounds daily and several times at night. Our site was level and had 30amp, and water. We travel in a 40ft Class A with a tow vehicle and had no problem getting in or out of the area. We loved the natural state of the location. Our host for our time there, Benigno, was very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Interesting and quiet place. I can’t wait to see what the art looks like in a few years. It was fun.

We LOVED our time here! It was so peaceful with all the amenities of a campground- water, sewer, electric. The stars are INCREDIBLE!!! In a great location near Santa Fe and tons of national parks.

We stayed overnight in our RV and loved it! The grounds are tidy and nicely laid out with very cool large artworks, walking paths, and amenities for visitors. It's got a great community kitchen, perfect for hanging out. We especially loved that the artwork is lit until late in the evening, so you can experience the art and scenery illuminated and in daylight. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Totally recommend!

Ultimate peace and privacy. Nestled in juniper-wooded hills with sweeping views. Close to Albuquerque (20 minutes) and Santa Fe (40 minutes) but feels like a secluded retreat. Most people have no problem finding my place by entering my address in their GPS. However, I have had 2 HipCampers report their GPS directed them to a road called Camino de las Brisas or Las Brisas Loop. Turning here will lead you to a steep, dangerous road where it will be very difficult to turn around if you're in an RV and impossible with a trailer. Continue on Camino de Las Huertas to Senda Osa Vieja. It's marked with a street sign, a stone monument with brass plate. There's also a blue "private road" sign with a dragon. This land was purchased in 1956 by my archeologist parents because of the ancient pueblo site (dating from 1000 A.D.) and pit house sites (dating from 800 A.D.) Until the mega drought seriously impacted the land, a stream ran through it year round. Now it is only intermittent. Across the valley from this property, and within view of the campsite, is the site of a Spanish Colonial village, San Jose de las Huertas. It dates from the 1700s and is now owned by the Archeological Conservancy. This area is rich in history both Native American and Spanish. Learn more about this land: Located in the high desert 20 minutes from Albuquerque and 40 minutes from Santa Fe. Views of Sandia mountains, and near historic archeological sites. Within a 10 minute drive are popular mountain biking trails. Petroglyphs are a 20 minute, moderately strenuous hike from property. Very peaceful, quiet and safe. Read all the Rules and Safety info before booking so you understand exactly what facilities are and are not available, particularly if you in an RV or trailer.

Ranch was the second largest Cattle Ranch in American history. In its heyday around 1900 it was over one million acres. Today the cows are gone, along with the vast tracts of land and the cowboys that managed the herds. The Lyons and Campbell Ranch Headquarters remains as a time capsule of an era past. The extensive adobe compound includes the 27 room adobe mansion of Cattle Baron Tom Lyons and his wife Ida Campbell, along with the fabulous Old West Saloon, Jail, post office, bunkhouses, Theater and Chapel. In the summer months enjoy the great swimming pool, and in the spring and fall enjoy the Mimbres design hot tub. Our RV sites are closed in the winter, but our Airbnb apartments are closed in January only. The Theater has just added a video cinema system to its live performance capabilities. Think "movie night". There is a lot of history here, and for just $10/person you can take the 2 hour tour of the historic grounds. The L.C. The authentic old west Saloon, Historic Main House, Theater, Gallery, Jail are all available to tour, and for workshops, retreats, Weddings, groups etc. The two hour guided tour of the museum in the main house, the "adobe mansion" of Cattle Baron Tom Lyons, is $10 per person for RV guests. The swimming pool and Lanai are located near the Sunset Site, RV Site #3. It will handle any size rig, 65'+, 20/30/50 amp. Big fifth wheels, Class A or C Motorhomes, no problem. It is our only pull through site. The Lanai by the pool has BBQ, pizza oven, sink, refrigerator, music, games, croquet, darts... Site for Sore Eyes, #4, is a smaller site with 20/30 amp electrical service. It is a "back in" site suitable for Class C, CamperVans, and smaller travel trailers. The other two RV spots are a short walk away, about 150 feet. Site #2, Gemini Site is good for up to 65', pull in, perfect for any size Motorhome or big rig, 20/30/30/20 amp with a unique double rig pedestal that allows a second 30 amp rig to hook up at your descretion. It also has its own shaded picnic area and picnic table. 4" sewer connection. Site #1 has a full tree canopy over head, perfect for Class C or Travel trailers. "Back in" site, 20/30/50 amp, water, 4" sewer and wi-fi. The Mimbres design hot tub is located in the bath house between the two RV locations. It is wood-fired and available on request. (currently off-line due to rennovations) It takes all day to heat it up and it is NOT recommended on windy or freezing nights as it is quite exposed. There is also a bathroom with flush toilet at the pool, along with fridge, BBQ, Wood fired pizza oven, misters and bar in the Lanai, and a guest laundry with an indoor shower nearby in the Spanish courtyard. There are additional bathrooms in the Saloon and the Theater. Karaoke at night in the old west Saloon used to be a regular occurrence on weekends before covid, let's see if we can get that going again this summer. The Saloon is equipped for live music as well, with guitar and bass amps, P.A. and electronic drum kit. The Saloon as well as the entire property is BYOB. The Saloon is not open to the public and has no liquor license. We like it this way. Wi-fi is available at all our RV sites, and is best in the Saloon and Gallery. We have just installed new Wi-Fi extenders. Cell phone service is sketchy, some people with Verizon or T-Mobile get service. It's best on the observation mound. Discounts for longer stays...
