Set above the historic town of Madrid N.M. is Waldo Mesa, the location of past mining operations and stunning vista's.The campsite is 0.9 miles off highway 14 in the historic town of Madrid and up to the mesa. Site 1 can accommodate RV's and tall setups as well as tents. The hill going to the site is short, approx. 0.2 ml. Its dirt and rock and a little steep but everything from bikes, motorcycles, sedans and buses can easily navigate without bottoming out, just take it slow. It has beautiful mesa views with plenty of privacy and nice outhouse within 50 yards. Madrid and sister village, Cerrillos are loaded with places to explore on foot or by other means. Both towns are very rich in history, from past ocean existence to Native American civilizations, silver and gold mining to booming wartime coal mining industries, to ghost towns.

Wander our land to enjoy various level hiking trails including a 20 minute hike to a creek and waterfall in the forest (some steep spots and creek is intermittent) or climb up Shaggy Peak (seasoned hikers only please).
IMPORTANT: We are up 1.3 miles of dirt road (with 5-7+% grade in a few short stretches) and are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle! Be aware that the roads can be snowy, icy or muddy and rutted ( 4-wheel or All-trak recommended in certain times of year). We don’t guarantee the road will be plowed.
We generally close for the season due to cold weather around Halloween and reopen just before Memorial Day.

We have very good well water. Drinking water filtration is through Waterdrop Reverse Osmosis Water Purification System G3P600: pre-RO carbon and particulate filter, then RO, then post-RO carbon filter, then UV sterilization, then remineralization… you get the safest water that “tastes” great! Conserve drinking water by using direct well water for other purposes — also safe, but does not use up the filtering and conditioning resources.

Ultimate peace and privacy. Nestled in juniper-wooded hills with sweeping views. Close to Albuquerque (20 minutes) and Santa Fe (40 minutes) but feels like a secluded retreat.
Most people have no problem finding my place by entering my address in their GPS. However, I have had 2 HipCampers report their GPS directed them to a road called Camino de las Brisas or Las Brisas Loop.
Turning here will lead you to a steep, dangerous road where it will be very difficult to turn around if you're in an RV and impossible with a trailer. Continue on Camino de Las Huertas to Senda Osa Vieja. It's marked with a street sign, a stone monument with brass plate. There's also a blue "private road" sign with a dragon.
This land was purchased in 1956 by my archeologist parents because of the ancient pueblo site (dating from 1000 A.D.) and pit house sites (dating from 800 A.D.) Until the mega drought seriously impacted the land, a stream ran through it year round. Now it is only intermittent. Across the valley from this property, and within view of the campsite, is the site of a Spanish Colonial village, San Jose de las Huertas. It dates from the 1700s and is now owned by the Archeological Conservancy. This area is rich in history both Native American and Spanish.

Not all of us have a weekend free but we might be able to get away for the night and a breakfast before having to return to soccer games or meetings. Camp sites have access to water and the covered RV space has electricity and water hookups. Love riding as much as we do? Clean off that New Mexico clay at our bike washing station! We are dog friendly and already love your furry companions, but please keep them leashed. We can provide long cables so your pup can still play outside with you!
The two acre property also includes our home, covered RV site, pear tree (help yourself to fresh fruit!), many shady areas to relax, large field to play, fire pits, and access to trails within walking distance!
After a few years of living on the road, we know how hard it can be to find a clean, safe place to stay and how magical it feels when you find just the right spot. Two Hawk Ranch is comprised of 12 acres of high mountain valley meadows, hay fields, Acequias, trees and the Rio Chiquito. Yes, we are located at approximately 7,800ft elevation. My husband and I stumbled across this beautiful and serene property by accident in 2020 just as Covid hit. We feel blessed to be here and feel the need to share it’s calming, restful qualities. We have three adult children and have three grandchildren. We also have eight international children as we hosted international students for four years. You are welcome to come sit by the fire and be social or just do your own thing.

Sites located across the property for up to 8 groups. The RV camping is located near one of our horse corrals and above our irrigation Acequia, above or next to the house, or in the field down by the arena after haying is complete (usually after the first week of July as long as the rain cooperates). Can back in or pull through and has 110v power nearby. No water to hook up to, but we can fill your tanks via hose by the house or arena. Other sites available if you don’t need power, or have a generator.
Property is within a 100yds of national forest service that gives access to off-roading, hiking, biking, horse riding, fishing, and winter snowshoeing, cross country skiing, etc. We are located just off the High Road to Taos in Llano, 29 miles south of Taos and 55 miles north of Santa Fe. We are eight miles from Ski Sipapu and eight miles from Rio Santa Barbara Canyon.
Your well-behaved pets are welcome. We also have one great dane (Raggy), a great dane mix (The Morrigan), one ranch cat (Sasha) and four horses (Gentry, Shadow, Mattie & Jr G). The dogs are a rescue of some kind. The Morrigan is black, 3.5 yrs old and comes out of a rescue in AZ. She went in with her litter as a 5 month old puppy, and she came here about a year later. She is reticent and suspicious, so ignore her and she will come up to you on her own; continue to ignore her. Ragnar (Raggy) is our most recent rescue and is from Las Cruces. He's 3 yrs old and a merle. He suffers from anxiety and fears children. We are working him through his fears, and he is doing really well.
The weather here tends to run cooler, as we are located in the mountains in a small valley at approximately 7,800 ft above sea level. In the spring through fall, temps will average from mid 40°F up to mid 60°F at night and mid 60°F up to mid 90°F during the day. Temps can get into the 100°F's in the summer, but that is rare. Generally if the sun is out, it is warm or hot even tho the actual temps are not. It's a high-altitude affect. The opposite is true as well. Cloud cover will feel cooler. We also experience monsoon style rains that occur in the afternoon generally starting in July and running into August or later.
In the late fall through early spring during winter, the average temps usually run from 0°F up to mid 20°F at night with occasional dips into negative temps and in the day generally run from mid 20°F up to the mid 40°F range. Same as above - if the sun is out, it will feel warmer, etc.
We do hay the fields, so we may have tractor activity going on in the late spring and early summer. In the winter we will be clearing snow from the roads and feeding hay.

What a wonderful space. Kamaria Creations is a Wellness Retreat nestled in Albuquerque's Historic North Valley. We are close to Old Town, The Nature Center, Museums, The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. Wonderful Eateries and Nightlife. Onsite we are home to the only Natural Hair Care Center in New Mexico. Additionally, we offer Bed and Breakfast Accommodations. Our Salon creates amazing styles, cuts, locks, braids and much more. We have an array of Body work services including Facials, Massage Therapy, Herbal Medicine and more.If you are here on a Tuesday Join Us for Taco Tuesday Night. Our stage hosts many local musicians as well. We are a wonderful destination for Balloon Festival as well. Located a quick 15 min drive to the Balloon Fiesta Park. The rail Runner is within reach which will connect campers with Santa Fe. We also have a bus stop directly in front of our site for you to head downtown for the day. The grounds can provide up to 3 spaces for camping. Learn more about this land:Calling all campers. We've got an outdoor stage, a couple secluded areas on the grounds. Inside the main house we've got herbal medicine, massage therapy, Natural hair care and more! Electricity is on site.Please Be Mindful We have Little Nubian Pygmy Goats onsite. Only animals that are Kid and Goat Safe are permitted. ALL DOGS must be on leash. All Dogs must be walked to the park or off property to do their doggie business both number 1 and 2. We also have active pollinators, very gentle bee's. Let them live freely and do their work for humanity. Honey and Tea is available onsite.

Beautiful area, , with full hook up’s. There were two large dogs running loose, luckily they were friendly. We have two small dogs so that was just a bit of a draw back for me. The owner was able to call them back which was nice.

A gravel, road takes one through a short distance through the locked gate and into Agua de Vida campground as well as the owner's residence . We stayed in a level RV spot, picnic table included, and had easy access to Pecos National Historic Park and Pecos Canyon State Park. We especially enjoyed the many birds in residence (I mean the wild ones, but there are also peacocks, chickens, and at least one duck) as well as Brenda's two friendly dogs. There's a cute bathroom - water pressure in shower minimal but does get one clean. It was a great weekend!

The land and views were stunning. Directions to get there were detailed and clear (although I entered the coordinates into Apple Maps and they took us right to the gate, I used Brenda’s instructions just in case). The stars at night were amazing - so clear we could see the Milky Way. Lots of birds, and friendly dogs that we loved to pet and accompanied us on a couple of walks (if anyone finds a black tennis shoe, it’s my husband’s. Heed the warning about leaving them outside at night! He did, but one fell off the top of our trailer and was never seen again -lol - a small price to pay.) It IS rustic-ish, but while I know there were others around (heard some snoring and saw some other vehicles as I overshot the bath house as I made a late night bathroom run) nobody was near our site -Open Sky - and it felt like we had the mountaintop to ourselves. Brenda was responsive to a couple of questions that came up. It was a fun stay!

Victoria has thought of every convenience to make your stay lovely. It was my first time towing a 33 foot living quarter horse trailer and I had no problem whatsoever. The turn out for the horses are unbelievable and my horses thoroughly enjoyed running around and stretching their legs after a long trailer ride. Highly recommend.

Welcomed near the Ranch gate by host, Victoria, who was very friendly, helpful and informative.
The site was level, spacious with great hookups. The ranch is beautiful, very clean and organized. My nature companion dog, Benito had 2 nights of good sleep and much needed respite from long travel.
I highly recommend this wonderful site that is far enough off the freeway (but not too far) with awesome views of the surrounding landscape!

We enjoyed our stay at this unique location. A nice gated yard which we had to ourselves in a (mostly) quiet neighborhood.
Be sure to visit the nearby petroglyphs national monument - a 1.5 mile walk to play eye spy with rock art. Piedras Marcadas Canyon Trail,

Very secluded and quiet. Be sure to read the host's messages as you really need the instructions about how to get into the site.
One nice bathroom and one nice shower that are a short walk away at the bathhouse. The host was very helpful .

Camped 10/25-28 in spot #40 in the 3rd loop (farthest from the entrance). Roads were freshly paved so kids had a blast riding bicycles with other kiddos there. Bathrooms were clean, warm (it was chilly at night and snowed the last day), with running water/soap/ heat dryers. Both trash and recycle were on site. Friendly Rangers! The hike was fairly easy 1.5 miles to the Bandelier ruins.

Great campground, high pressure potable water nearby, flush toilets. Some campsite have shade trees, you have to get there early to get one of those sites! Lots of wildlife viewing, trail access to the beautiful Bandelier Nat. Monument and in the busy season free shuttle access from the parking lot to the Visitor's Center if you are tired from hiking! Supplies available nearby in the lovely town of White Rock!

The campgrounds are the only place you could access with a vehicle when I visited Bandelier , there is a trail you can hike down to the actual park or ride a shuttle. There were three loops of approximately 25 campsites each with an amphitheater in between them. First come first serve, pay the $7 or so at a automated machine. There was an RV sanitation site there. Fires were allowed within the supplied rings but firewood gathering was prohibited. Beautiful place to explore!
