Brad and Ciana welcome you to the Santa Fe Treehouse Camp & Wilderness Preserve, managed by The Wilderness Institute. The camp was founded 40 years ago as a summer camp for kids. We continue to offer camps for children and their parents and grandparents (family camps), as well as welcome adults and other groups to enjoy the vast and wild high desert nature up on this ridge. "BE A CAMPER CONSERVATIONIST"! Register for our nature education activities and resources lead by The Wilderness Institute (available for all of our guests). These topics include sustainability, recycling, composting, water conservation, wildfire prevention, outdoor safety, and nature awareness along with the use of our hiking trails. You can also join an archery class, tomahawk throwing, climbing on the mobile climbing wall, Yoga, Tai Chi, Climbing Into The Heart of the Mother Tree, Star talks and more! (https://wildernessinstitute.org/outdoor-programs/) There are beautiful views and access to Shaggy Peak, the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Wander our land to enjoy various level hiking trails including a 20 minute hike to a creek and waterfall in the forest (some steep spots and creek is intermittent) or climb up Shaggy Peak (seasoned hikers only please). IMPORTANT: We are up 1.3 miles of dirt road (with 5-7+% grade in a few short stretches) and are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle! Be aware that the roads can be snowy, icy or muddy and rutted ( 4-wheel or All-trak recommended in certain times of year). We don’t guarantee the road will be plowed. We generally close for the season due to cold weather around Halloween and reopen just before Memorial Day. This is a non-smoking, no candle facility.

The land is covered in juniper, piñon, and ponderosa pine, and various cactus plants. Enjoy the peace and quiet and the clear view of the celestial grandeur of the sun’s cycle or the brilliant show of stars in the night sky. Enjoy the birdsong and wind whistling through the trees when you stay in this 10' x 14' canvas tent. There are two single beds. Please bring your own linens towels and toiletries. There is no electricity inside the tent so also bring your own lantern. Bordering the Santa Fe National Forest's Pecos Wilderness Area there are beautiful views of Shaggy Peak, the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Wander our land to enjoy a 15 minute hike to a creek in the forest (last three minutes is steep and creek runs in wet weather). We have various other trails for you to explore as well...one being the closest access to Shaggy Peak (seasoned hikers only please). The camp is located about 20 minutes from Museum Hill, 25 minutes from Meow Wolf, Old Town Santa Fe Plaza and just 15 minutes to delicious food at Harry's Roadhouse, Jambo Bobcat Bite and Cafe Fina. NOTE: We are up a 1.3 mile dirt road with two steep hills and bumps. We are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle! Be aware that the roads can be snowy, icy or muddy in early spring, late fall and winter, and rutted due to rains in the summer. At those times of the year we recommend a car with front-wheel, all track or four-wheel drive and good traction tires. ---------------------- To maintain the tranquility of our guests stays we are taking these steps to curb late arrivals. At Safari Connect 2-Person Tree Tent site spend a comfortable night swaying in the tree branches under the stars as you listen to the sounds of the forest around you. Bordering the Santa Fe National Forest's Pecos Wilderness Area. there are beautiful views of Shaggy Peak, the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. No matter if you are a back sleeper, side sleeper or front sleeper the Tentsile Safari Connect 2-Person Tree Tent is made for you. Just a short minute walk from the Birdbath Communal Restrooms and showers and another minute to the Communal Cook and Dining area, this site offers easy access to all the comforts this camp has to offer. It is directly across from the Wilderness Center hang out area with comfy couch, charging station and a secondary kitchen area. ***Bring your own bedding, pillow, towel and toiletries. The land borders the Santa Fe National Forest's Pecos Wilderness Area with its extensive hiking trails and backpacking opportunities! You can enjoy dramatic views of Shaggy Peak, the southernmost named peak of the Rocky Mountain's Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range from most of our camp sites. Explore our hiking trails including a short 20 minute walk to a creek and waterfall (last trail section is steep and the water flow is intermittent). Treehouse Camp is known for having the best access trail to the top of Shaggy Peak and its tremendous 360 degree views of the surrounding area! (Seasoned hikers only please.) Located just 20 minutes from Museum Hill, 25 minutes from Meow Wolf, 30 minutes to the historic Santa Fe Plaza, Canyon Rd Galleries, and the famous Santa Fe Opera, you are not far from much of what Santa Fe has to offer. And, three much loved restaurants, Harry's Road House, Jambo Bobcat Bite, Bourbon Grill, and Cafe Fina, are just 15 minutes down the road! Forest Glade Group Camp is perfect for tent camping or sleeping out under the stars with your family or friends. There are 12 camp sites surrounding a central area, a shelter with picnic tables, a cook prep/stove table, and a large secure metal food box... all within your own private camping space. (Contact us for rental prices of cooking and camping equipment). There are portable toilets very close to the group site and the Birdbath building with flush toilets, sinks, and showers is just a five minute walk from the Forest Glade Group Camp. If some of your party is NOT into camping, please check out our listings for Zen House, Exotic Serenity Yurt, Mustang Bunkhouse, Singing Nail Cabin, Pegasus, Tecolote Treehouses and Sunrise Treehouse sites all within a 5 minute walk or very short drive! NOTE: We are up a 1.3 mile gravel road with two steep hills and some bumps. We are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle. Be aware that the roads can be snowy, icy or muddy in early spring, late fall and winter, and rutted due to rains in the summer. At those times of the year we recommend a car with front-wheel, all track or four-wheel drive and good traction tires. Please note that the group site is priced for 12 people. Additional adults (age 13 and up) are $25 per night with a recommended total of 32 people. Please only add all guests aged 13 years and up to your reservation. (Children 0-4 years old are free, 5-12 years old $12.50, 13 years and up $25.) To reserve the half-priced child fee please notify us directly and plan to pay by cash, Zelle, Venmo or PayPal when you arrive.) We are a non-smoking facility and open campfire restrictions may be in place. There is parking for 4 cars at the group site with additional parking spaces elsewhere on the land. Please consider carpooling! We recommend arriving before dusk. It makes locating us easier and you will get to experience our beautiful sunsets and have more time to enjoy this enchanted hilltop! Checkin is 4-8PM winter and spring and 4-9:45 summer and fall . The group site, access trails and campground road are minimally lit with solar lights. (Which makes for ultimate star viewing!) We suggest you bring personal flash lights. ***IMPORTANT: Due to the location of this site we ask that you arrive for checkin within the normal hours. Once you have located your site you are welcome to leave and come back after the normal check in time without a fee but please be as quiet as possible so as not to disturb other guests. There is a queen bed, double futon and single bed for your sleeping comfort. There is NO electricity inside the tent and the space is lit with a battery powered lantern. Cozy linens and towels are provided for you. Please bring your own toiletries. TreeHouse Camp includes 156 acres of land bordering the Santa Fe National Forest's Pecos Wilderness Area. There are beautiful views of Shaggy Peak, the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Wander our land to enjoy a 15 minute hike to a creek in the forest (last three minutes is steep and creek runs in wet weather). The Tecolote treehouses are slightly further from the outdoor kitchen and bathhouse and a bit further apart from one another (than Pegasus treehouses) for privacy. There is a communal, designated fire pit and stunning views of the mountains. Within a comfortable walking distance (4 minutes) from the flush toilets and showers, 1 minute to the portable toilets. There is no electricity at the Tecolote sites. ***This site has 1 Queen and 3 single beds. . We provide mattresses with a fitted sheet as a mattress cover, you need to bring your own sheets to put on top, blankets, pillows or sleeping bags as well as towels and toiletries, lanterns and flashlights (don’t sleep directly on the sheet we provide). Located less than an hour from Santa Fe Ski area, 20 minutes from Museum Hill, 25 minutes from Meow Wolf, 30 minutes to Old Town Santa Fe Plaza, Canyon Rd galleries and the famous Santa Fe Opera you are not far from all that Santa Fe has to offer. There are three much loved restaurants just 15 minutes down the road as well. NOTE: The beautiful drive to reach us meanders through the historic quaint village of Canada de Las Alamos. Mountain views and evergreen forests border the 1.3 mile dirt road, which is just far enough to get away from the hustle and excitement of Santa Fe but close enough to enjoy all that Santa Fe has to offer. Since the area has minimal lighting for star viewing we recommend you bring flash lights and you consider arriving while it is still light out. This was a beautiful and organized park with very friendly and helpful workers. Bathrooms were clean and showers were hot! With many different amazing amenities like microwave, coffee, and grills/flattops.

We had a great time at this camp and we will be back for sure! The facilities are well maintained and the camp hosts are lovely and accommodating. We enjoyed cooking in the outdoors and sleeping in the fresh air. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed my time at Treehouse. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Bathroom was clean. The scenery is beautiful with hiking trails right there. I didn't get a chance to try out the climbing walls but those looked fun too. Camping in my van here was a wonderful experience and the perfect compliment to my time in the city for my art show. My campsite, and many of the others, weren't flat, so be prepared for that. They have spring water on tap outside which was an unexpected bonus as my water supply ran low. If I'm in Santa Fe again I'll be coming back here!

Great stay as a camper visiting family in Santa Fe. Lots of tent spots and a very clean bathroom/showers. Porta potties were a great touch for closer access if you’re not wanting to walk to the shower house. Trails and views were beautiful. National Forest right up against the property.

Tranquil Times Bell Tent-16'

My daughter and I were in need of a much-needed getaway, and this was exactly what we were looking for. The owners were welcoming, friendly, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The grounds were well-maintained, peaceful, and quiet. The other campers were also very friendly, which added to the relaxing atmosphere. One of my favorite parts of the trip was waking up early, enjoying a cup of coffee, and watching the sunrise. We stayed in Tent 16, which was spacious and comfortable. I especially appreciated how close the restrooms and showers were to our site. This was the first campsite where I didn't hesitate to leave the tent in the middle of the night to use the restroom. As two women traveling alone, feeling safe is very important to us, and we felt completely comfortable and secure throughout our stay. We truly enjoyed our time here and look forward to returning.

Forest Glade Group Camp

The Forest Glade group site was perfect for my geology class of 12. Everyone had a nice spot for their tent, and the shade/ rain cloth with picnic tables fit us all. Really sweet bonuses included the solar-powered party lights over the picnic tables, and on-site collection of not just trash but recycling and compost. The shared bathroom with showers and flush toilets was extra nice. Ciana and Brad are excellent hosts. I will return to this campsite!

Wow - Better Than Ever!

We've stayed with Ciana and Brad several times. Every visit they have made more improvements than the time before. They have curated options for every type of camper while leaving the natural beauty of the property in tact. We were met with a smile and a real concern for our comfort and satisfaction. We are already planning our next trip in the spring.

Mesa 10' x 14' Tent

Very peaceful spot! Super close to Santa Fe if you’d like to head out and explore, but there were plenty of hikes and beautiful views even from the tent if you’re not up for hikes! Amenities are great- clean bathrooms, plenty of cooking supplies, and potable water. Made it to camp in my sedan just fine, too. Closest store is a bit away, so just make sure you have all the extras you’d like. :)

Tecolote 3 Treehouse

Exceptionally clean and an easy drive to Santa Fe. We stayed at a Treehouse and setup was so convenient. We got to focus on outdoor activities and spending time together instead of setting up/breaking down. They thought of just about everything. Felt super safe too.

Safari Connect 2-Person Tree Tent

The tree tent site was tranquil and made for a unique camping experience. The bathrooms were clean and well-kept, which made the stay even more comfortable. Mustang Bunkhouse

This place is absolutely beautiful. The cabins and general facilities are in excellent shape and have everything you could possibly need. This was our first “camping” trip with our baby and it was perfect. There is a couple of nice hikes walking distance. I would highly recommend this place, it feels like a hidden gem.

Serenity Yurt

It was lovely to stay in the yurt. We were two adults, a teenager and a toddler and it was comfortable to have three beds to comfortably accommodate all (and also have a heater for cold nights). Lovely flat walks around the campground and into the forest. The host and care taker were friendly. Very convenient to have the well equipped kitchen with stove, oven, toaster oven, etc. when with children. Only 25 minutes away from convenient stores (like Trader Joe), yet camping in nature.

Tecolote 1 Treehouse

We had a great time camping with our pup in the Tecolote Cabin! Tecolote #1 had a range of bed options so we could choose our comfort level and amazing views to wake up to! We enjoyed hiking the trails around property, using the clean facilities including the small kitchen to make coffee in the morning and getting to meet the other guests. Ciana and Jonathan were so communicative and helpful and we felt very well taken care of! We look forward to staying in the future and maybe trying out one of the tents or other cabins!

We had a wonderful stay. The stars were amazing and the mountains were incredible to see from our rooftop tent. The staff kept the bathrooms really clean and they were all so nice. If we can visit again we hope to enjoy some of the activities you provide.

Mesa 10' x 14' Tent

This was my second visit to Ciana and Brad's Treehouse camp. I camped at one of the tent campsites for a few nights and moved to the Mesa tent on my last night. I love Ciana and Brad's property. It has great kitchen amenities, the birdbath bath house is always clean and showers are hot. The views are beautiful and you can hike right from their property. As an older, single female traveler, I appreciate Brad and Ciana providing a safe place to camp. I cannot wait to return in the fall!
