Ciana was friendly when I checked in. Jonathan provided great advice about hiking up to Shaggy Mountain which I did and it’s a fun hike - great views. Campground had a nice bathroom with hot showers, flush toilets. If you’re coming in with a Campervan like me, some sites are level some are not and there’s no dump station. There’s well water spigot by bathroom. Great sunset views as the campground is on a ridge line. I engaged 4x4 but didn’t really need it. The town was out grading the roads so no washboard. Stayed 1 night, would do again.

Beautiful location!! Tent had 2 double beds to sleep on. The accommodations include an open air kitchen with all the amenities of your home's kitchen. All the common areas where clean. The location is near so many interesting places and hiking trails.

If you are looking for a low stress environment that gives the general vibe of camping but still allows for kitchen and bathroom access, this is the place for you! There was also a beautiful trail that wasn't too long of a hike that we decided to take in the morning. Really good camp accommodations! Loved the simple cabins, comfy beds, beautiful mountaintop walks, nice, hot showers, clean bathrooms, and loved the full kitchen w 2 stoves, 2 frigs, 2 of everything, outdoor dining areas, plenty of room and quiet nights. I’m definitely returning w company! Loved it… and, more things: not too far from Santa Fe, and not expensive…😍

I would recommend this camp. We liked the Treehouse Camp so much that we stayed an extra 2 nights. Ciana was super friendly. The campground is very clean. The bathrooms were excellent. There are two designated areas for cooking that have shared equipment. We camped in our own tent. However there are furnished cabins, yurts, and tents that can also be rented. Each sight has access to a fire pit which weren't being used due to local fire restrictions. The property has hiking trails, a climbing wall, and other outdoor activities. The camp is about 20 minutes from the tourist areas of Santa Fe.

This is hands-down one of the best campgrounds I’ve ever stayed at. The location is ideal, with The Santa Fe plaza just 25 minutes away and so many great hiking trails starting right from the campground, including the epic trek to Shaggy Peak. The hosts are wonderful people and take such great care of the property and make it a very special place to relax in the beautiful surroundings. I will definitely be coming back for another visit! Thank you Ciana and Brad for helping to make this such a great visit to Santa Fe!

This camp is INCREDIBLE! We stayed in one of the Pegasus Treehouses and it was such a fun experience. The outdoor kitchen setup was such a great community spot and we met some really cool people. Very quiet, very clean, and the most unique camping experience we’ve had! Who wouldn’t want to sleep in a treehouse?! 🤩

Everything was PERFECT. From the river to the animals to the attention to play, freedom, relaxation and peaceful setting. This place has it ALL! Payment and reservation was stupid easy to set up. Everything was provided. Aaaaand there was shade, water, FIREFLIES and baby GOATS. Best money my tired city butt has spent in forever.

Treehouse camp was perfect for us! There were plenty of tent sites available, some more secluded, some closer to base camp. The bathrooms were very clean and the communal cooking area was well stocked. It was also a great place to chit chat with other travellers and get recommendations for what sites to see while we are here. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others!

This is a non-smoking, no candle facility. The camp was founded 40 years ago as a summer camp for kids. We continue to offer camps for children and their parents and grandparents (family camps), as well as welcome adults and other groups to enjoy the vast and wild high desert nature up on this ridge. Register for our nature education activities and resources available for everyone who stays on the property. These topics include sustainability, recycling, composting, water conservation, wildfire prevention, outdoor safety, and nature awareness along with the use of our hiking trails. You can also join an archery class, tomahawk throwing, climbing on the mobile climbing wall, Yoga, Qigong, Climbing Into The Heart of the Mother Tree, Star talks and more... There are beautiful views and access to Shaggy Peak, the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Wander our land to enjoy various level hiking trails including a 20 minute hike to a creek and waterfall in the forest (some steep spots and creek is intermittent) or climb up Shaggy Peak (seasoned hikers only please). IMPORTANT: We are up 1.3 miles of dirt road (with 5-7+% grade in a few short stretches) and are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle! Be aware that the roads can be snowy, icy or muddy and rutted ( 4-wheel or All-trak recommended in certain times of year). We don’t guarantee the road will be plowed. We generally close for the season due to cold weather around Halloween and reopen just before Memorial Day.

Native people have lived in this valley for close to 20,000 years more . The Rio Grande is very close by ( 2 miles west of us ) bike or by car . We are close to route 40 and route 25, just 7 mins. away . There is a Food Co-op with in a 5 mins. drive . And a regular store and gas within one mile of our place. Rio Grande Camp

Enjoy easy access river side camping with amenities. The Hwy can be loud depending on traffic but usually settles down around 6pm. Tent camping on the riverbank is much less Hwy noisy. This is a great swimming and fishing spot with gorgeous views. Catch and release fishing only please. Our local coop market, restaurants, four local wineries a museum and a pizza brewery all within 5 miles of your campsite. 110v and 50amp 240v plugin are available. There is a water spigot as well as a trash receptacle on site. There are no bathroom facilities here. The parking area can accommodate camper vans and small trailers. Large RV’s aren’t able to fit in our small parking area. If you love the river this site’s for you.

Jemez Mountains A-Frame Cabin

We are excited to share our little A-frame cabin in the woods! The cabin is quite rustic ( and quite cute). Think of it like glamping -- outhouse, wood burning stove, dirt roads, and beautiful trees and mountains included. To keep the cabin affordable, all guests are responsible for cleaning up the cabin at the end of the stay and making it ready for the next guest. There are no cleaners coming in after you. The cabin is a 432 square foot A-frame in a small mountain community, which is surrounded by the Jemez National Forest. There are a few places to hike right from the front door, and many, many trailheads within a 20 minute drive. Fenton Lake is a short drive away, and the San Antonio Hot Springs is a 2.5 mile hike, bike, or ski away right out the front door for the confident adventurer. Located 1.5 hours from Albuquerque and Santa Fe, a few miles off of NM-4 between the town of Jemez Springs and the Valles Caldera National Preserve. No outdoor fires in the fire pit are permitted at this time.

About

Hipcampers interested in Native American history should definitely schedule a trip through this expansive park. Ancient caves and cliff dwellings abound in this one-time home of the Ancestral Pueblo people. The Ancestral Pueblo ruins date back to 1150, but they weren't the first people here. There's evidence humans lived here as many as 11,000 years ago!

As such, there are multiple trails that take you directly past or through archeological sites. The fairly flat, short Tyuonyi Overlook Trail is a good choice for beginning hikers. Looking for more of a physical challenge? Try the Frijolito Loop Trail. This demanding hike takes you close to the unexcavated Frijolito Pueblo site.

If you're looking to bag a peak, set your sights on the Cerro Grande Route. This one isn't for the faint of foot, though. Cerro Grande Peak's the park's highest point at 10,200 feet, and the terrain can be unforgiving. Bring water and good gear if you want to conquer this one!

Juniper Campground

Camped 10/25-28 in spot #40 in the 3rd loop (farthest from the entrance). Roads were freshly paved so kids had a blast riding bicycles with other kiddos there. Bathrooms were clean, warm (it was chilly at night and snowed the last day), with running water/soap/ heat dryers. Both trash and recycle were on site. Friendly Rangers! The hike was fairly easy 1.5 miles to the Bandelier ruins.

Juniper Campground

Great campground, high pressure potable water nearby, flush toilets. Some campsite have shade trees, you have to get there early to get one of those sites! Lots of wildlife viewing, trail access to the beautiful Bandelier Nat. Monument and in the busy season free shuttle access from the parking lot to the Visitor's Center if you are tired from hiking! Supplies available nearby in the lovely town of White Rock!

Ponderosa Campground

The campgrounds are the only place you could access with a vehicle when I visited Bandelier , there is a trail you can hike down to the actual park or ride a shuttle. There were three loops of approximately 25 campsites each with an amphitheater in between them. First come first serve, pay the $7 or so at a automated machine. There was an RV sanitation site there. Fires were allowed within the supplied rings but firewood gathering was prohibited. Beautiful place to explore!
