Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
All to yourself

Vacant desert landscape lot with a trail cut into the natural vegetation. Can host up to 3 vehicles or two campers. Nothing much here but a place to get away for the night and still be close to the city. You will need 4x4 to comfortably make it to this site!! Not all of us have a weekend free but we might be able to get away for the night and a breakfast before having to return to soccer games or meetings. This is also a great spot to get out and try out new gear without exposing yourself to a long difficult haul only to find out you forgot the propane or the shovel. Take the 5 minute drive from civilization and find yourself far enough away to breathe easier. Cross the dry, sandy, river bed and you’re almost there. Feel free to stay a night or two whenever you like.Site 1 is as you pull in. Can be used for a travel trailer. Site 2 is at the end of the path by the bush. Larger and further back

The directions were really clear and I thought I would have issues finding the campground but it was easy! It was very private and loved the views and the stars were amazing

Just as advertised. You don't necessarily need 4WD, but high clearance is a must (as of April '26). Can hear the highway, but it's not an annoyance. Good stop for an overnight.

Wide open space with a unobstructed view of Albuquerques Sandia Mountains No other campers next to me interrupting this star gazing peaceful spaces. Also in close proximity to stores and Santa Ana casino to go watch the RAIDERS GAME Now I know a new Balloon Festival Location to view the Balloon's

Private, quiet, and peaceful in a very healthy and happy desert environment. It’s a little tricky to find, but well worth the effort. 4WD for sure, especially if there has been rain in the area. The site had a nice sandy spot that was clear of vegetation, so a tent was perfectly happy and level. We really did enjoy our stay! Thanks for making this available, Mario!

The Desert Getaway… was just that ! Super private and submerged in the desert while also being very close to everything .. super convenient affordable and just an all around great spot to chill for a night or two.
