Sunny Mellow Eco Villa is the land with a great history. The QUIET, secret Shangra-La Valley just over the ridge from Route 66 (and I-40) was the camping place for Billy the Kid and his gang! They could quickly saddle up when the posted lookout on the ridge above signaled the passing of the stagecoach! Even more stunning, it was the Tijeras Indian Pueblo Tribe's place of roaming and rest. The land now sports an Organic Vineyard, Orchard and Vegetable Garden that guests my forage from when in bloom. A Large, Clean, Secluded Redwood Yoga Deck, Ping-Pong, Horseshoes, and a Giant Swing Set, along with patios and lounges that are found over the 8 acre land, and all joined by a network of Scenic Pathways and Bridges that connect The Vineyard, The Orchard, The Garden, The Solar Array, The Swing, The Yoga Deck, Ping Pong Terrace, Horse shoe Pit... Perfect Place and Feel The Akashic Records of Where Billy the Kid and his gang camped and the Tijeras Indians Lived! 8 Minutes to Albuquerque. 7 minutes to Cedar Crest, 20 minutes to The Infinite View off the Sandia Crest, 10 minutes to Edgewood. 50 minutes to Santa Fe. Located in THE CENTER of The ZIA of NEW MEXICO! Views of meadows, mountains and the Enchanting New Mexico sky from the Every stopping point on the Eco Villa Trail System. Ride a bike, take a sauna, Read a book... Take a nap. Enjoy the Unique Feel and Romance of the Yoga Yurt, The Awesome Modern Outdoor Kitchen, The delicious KING Bed. Watch 4K TV with 900 download and 35 upload! Enjoy Dining at your Private HipCamp Site! Hike into the Cedro National forest a short walk to the end of the road. If you feel sociable, join in a campfire with the guests at The Chi-Treehouse or Invite guests to the Fire-pit at your own Yoga Yurta! Sit in the Secluded "Starchamber" by day for a sun tan, or by night for moon glow and infinite star gazing. Drive to Sandia Peak, Hike, Ski, Mountain Bike (Even out your back door if you do not want to drive). Albuquerque and The East Mountains has more trails in proximity to a metropolis than an city in the country. Pick sandy, rocky, or meadow, or a forest ascent. Grove at top notch restaurants in ABQ and some local ones just down the street.

Chi-Treehouse at Sunny Mellow Villa
Dreamy treehouse stay for bday!
This has been on my saved list for a while and we were so glad we got to make it happen on my hubby's birthday! Loved this spot for it's peacefulness, privacy, thoughtful touches, beautiful surroundings and great kitchenette. It was nice to walk around the property and the treehouse was comfy and dreamy. Thanks for the stay!

The Yoga Yurta at Sunny Mellow
Great spaces, but dirty and tired
Prior to my stay, I read reviews, viewed the pictures, & was excited about my stay. The hosts were responsive, kind, & welcoming. I wanted to love the spaces. Unfortunately, I found the spaces outside of the yurt dirty and covered in cobwebs. I understand the outdoor kitchen is outdoors. Still, I expected the appliances to be cleaned prior to every new guests' arrival. The microwave was dirty, and looked as if it had been for some time. The fridge was dirty. There was animal feces on the shelf behind the toaster oven. The counter, and everything on it, was covered in dirt. The light fixtures were covered with cobwebs. The outdoor furniture cushions looked liked they had endured several seasons, holding on by a thread, and in some cases, duct tape, and were covered with debris. Again, I understand the furniture is outside beneath juniper that sheds. Still, a battery-powered blower might be a useful tool to incorporate for guest preparation. I had to clean everything I wanted to sit in or use in the outdoor spaces, to include the grill. The inside of the yurt was pleasant, but all table lamps were decorated with cobwebs. The comforter had been patched with duct tape. There isn't much duct tape can't repair, & though it is effective & can be used, doesn't mean it should be. The location is great, regardless of the highway noise. It has a thoughtful layout of different spaces available to the guest, Perhaps the hosts are just too busy to maintain the spaces.

Chi-Treehouse at Sunny Mellow Villa
Chi Treehouse
This is an absolute must stay! The whole place was such an enjoyable and relaxing vibe, from the trail out to the treehouse to the kitchen and campfire area. The hosts were very kind and very enjoyable to chat to. It’s unfortunate we could only stay for a night, hopeful to be back for a longer stay.

Chi-Treehouse at Sunny Mellow Villa
Amazing Stay!
We stayed in the treehouse and loved every aspect of our stay! We went to sleep with the sound of rain and woke up to singing birds and mountain views! We enjoyed showering in the open sky will it drizzled. The landscaping, plants, vineyard, orchard were enjoyable. It was perfect relaxation!

Chi-Treehouse (May 2024)
Every detail at Sunnymellow is meticulously considered to ensure peace and tranquility during the stay. Greg and Robbie have thought of everything, from a heated mattress to an ultrasonic bug/animal repeller, and even the kitchen supplies are well-stocked. They are incredibly kind and accommodating, and full of valuable information about the area. I just wish we could have stayed longer! I must return to do yoga on the deck, check out the sauna, and explore more of what New Mexico has to offer right nearby.
