Pristine camping along a small creek. Flat area surrounded by mountains and cottonwoods. Hiking is along the acequia, across the creek or you can actually hike in the creek, as the water runs underground shortly past my property. There are also many places to hike west of my property along Rosa Castilla. Wild horses roam all over the BLM land and along the creek. Desert area, 6000" elevation, so very dry and must be excectionally careful about fires. Only in provided grills . There is abundant wood that you can use for free, but put all coals out and you can use the creek water, when it is there. REMEMBER this is the desert!!I would like to book a 3 month visit from January 1st-April 1st with free water. You need to provide your own electricity, but solar would be an excellent option as sites are on south facing, so panels would work well. I would like to trade a discount for help on the farm during this time. $5.00 a day disount, plus the water. You would be the only one booked during this time, so very quiet and private for long term winter stay!!

Here is a beautiful wide-open 160 acre site in the Socorro High Desert with wonderful scenic views of the Magdalena Mountains to your West and the Rio Grande Basin to your East. ⛰🚵‍♀️ A small circular road has been carved onsite with plenty of cleared out camping spaces along its length. Excellent terrain for ATVs and Jeep’s! 🌵🏍 Feel free to bring wood and start a fire. 🔥 Please don't harvest wood onsite as I am in the process of regenerating the land through permaculture and need all the organic material I can spare. Amazing Stargazing Opportunities! 🌌 Perfect for a Peaceful Trip in Nature. 🍄 Plenty of safe space to do whatever you want, just be mindful of the Land and your Neighbors. ⛺️ Bring shade! Brief Directions for Those Without Internet: Exit the I-25 at San Marcial onto Highway 178/Willow Springs Ranch Road. At the end off the off-ramp you're going to turn right at the stop sign and drive West towards the Magdalena Mountains. You'll pretty quickly cross over a cattle-guard and then be on a dirt road for the remainder of the drive, but it's very well maintained by the county, so don't worry! Keep going West towards the mountains for about five miles until you cross over another cattle-guard. Shortly after this second cattle-guard you'll come across a four-way intersection where Sunset Vista bisects Willow Springs Ranch Rd. A lot of the signage gets blown over out here, so this may or may not be adequately marked. Turn left at the intersection. Drive about 2600ft and you'll cross over one last cattle-guard. Slightly beyond this is sort of the upper Northwestern corner of the property. The next 2600ft beyond those three stacks of rocks is the Western face of the property. If you pass a big-wash you went too far. There's two dirt driveways leading into the property, making it pretty navigable in virtually any vehicle as well as dozens of cleared out sites.

Victoria was a wonderful host. She let me know easy directions to her home/site. The site was beautiful and restful, which was good because I had become ill before arriving so spent a lot of time in the camper. There was a snowstorm the night before I was to leave, dumping 8 inches of snow to dig out of. Victoria helped me dig out the camper and truck while her husband cleared the driveway with a tractor. Given the road conditions, Victoria gave me recommendations for which road to travel to increase my safety. She and her husband were the best of hosts!

Dakota was very quick to respond to my messages. We arrived after dark to a very neat and tidy site, with a very nice and level grass area to pitch our tents. The location is a working, active vineyard, and if we had had more time I would have loved to check out more of it and the wines they offered. We were just on a quick one nighter on our way to Arizona. The bathroom was very clean, the firepit was large and generous; the camping was amazing with coyotes howling all through the night. A very well kept secret just off the beaten path. Thanks for the cool spot, Dakota!

Close to Bosque del Apache, 13 miles down same road. Close to restaurants in San Antonio. Sites have full hookups. Owners do sell firewood. 2nd time staying here and would/will stay again. Good jumping off place. We did day soak in Tor C at Riverbend resort about an hour away and visited Elephant Butte. Lots of wild areas and off roading around Socorro which is close by. Decent views of surrounding mountains and Cranes flying by all day long. Great if doing Festival of Cranes at the wildlife refuge.

We loved our time at Reeve's place! The space is very homey, nestled in the trees, and although it was nearly full we felt like our site was private. The restrooms were spotless and each has a very nice shower. Midtown Mountain is located close to several restaurants, a grocery store, and hiking trails are easily accessible. Reeve was full of information about the area. We absolutely will be back if we return to Ruidoso. Thanks for a great stay!

We didn't get to stay long as we were in between long distance destinations but Melodie & Brent's place was awesome. And they were super patient with us with directions. Yes, as other's have said follow them to a T! We did find the distance on Twinning Rd (not marked that we could see but is literally two roads side by side) to be 2.8 rather than 2.6 miles and the Blue Moon container is so faded you can't see what it is until you are right up on it but other than that their directions worked perfectly. I'm neurospicy so specifics trip me up sometimes but they were patient with us and walked us through. The sunset was one of the best I've seen in a very long time and the sunrise was cotton candy gorgeous.

We are located 1.3 miles back on a dirt road that has some steep sections and can have washboard sections during certain times of the year. During winter times, 4-wheel drive is necessary. We welcome (and LOVE!) dogs, but they must remain on leash and out of respect for our neighbors, are unable to allow disruptive/barking dogs.

Property is within close vicinity to the center of town. Property is a half acre, shared with a young family, half of the property is separated by a brick wall. Property has access to village water, a clean porta potty, newly built wooden table, many shade trees and a fire pit. Cuesta Verde is 7 miles from the wild rivers recreation area which provides many different activities which include hiking to the bottom of the canyon where individuals can experience a whole different atmosphere with the mighty Rio Grande running along the bottom. Many biking trails mountain and Road provide for adventurous fun. And don’t forget to look up at our beautiful mountains and landscape surrounding this area. 13 miles to the east of us is the Town of Red River where there are so many different activities taking place throughout the summer, fall, winter, and spring months. Ski lift provides breaths of fresh air throughput the summer months and an abundance of snow throughout the winter months provides some class A skiing. 25 miles to the south of Questa is the Town of Taos which also provides many different activities. The Gorge Bridge just west of Taos provides for some excitement 650 feet above the Rio Grande. The Historic L.C. Ranch can accommodate up to 5 RVs with full hookups & WiFi, including 3 sites with 50 amp electrical service, We are not accepting tent or car campers at this time of year. The L.C. Ranch was the second largest Cattle Ranch in American history. In its heyday around 1900 it was over one million acres. Today the cows are gone, along with the vast tracts of land and the cowboys that managed the herds. The Lyons and Campbell Ranch Headquarters remains as a time capsule of an era past. The extensive adobe compound includes the 27 room adobe mansion of Cattle Baron Tom Lyons and his wife Ida Campbell, along with the fabulous Old West Saloon, Jail, post office, bunkhouses, Theater and Chapel. In the summer months enjoy the great swimming pool, and in the spring and fall enjoy the Mimbres design hot tub. Our RV sites are closed in the winter, but our Airbnb apartments are closed in January only. The Theater has just added a video cinema system to its live performance capabilities. Think "movie night". There is a lot of history here, and for just $10/person you can take the 2 hour tour of the historic grounds. The L.C. Ranch is located in the tiny village of Gila, just 30 minutes from Silver City, right off U.S. 180 on NM Hwy 211. Ranch" in Gila, NM, available for short term rental on a!rbnb.      5 RV spots with full hookups, AND Wi-Fi.  20 or 30 amp, are $40 per night for up to 2 people. 50 amp for $50 per night. Additional guests are $10 per night, and up to 6 people per site. Hook ups include sewer, electric, WiFi and water connections, and access to the swimming pool, Hot tub, Old west Saloon and Gallery.  Two night minimum.  Swimming pool is open May thru September, Hot tub is currently off-line due to rennovations.    NO FIREWORKS! Please!  We are relaxing our fire ban to allow charcoal or gas BBQs, and fully screened portable fire pits, if it is NOT windy.  We do not supply these. There is plenty of firewood here, but you will have to cut/break it to usable size. Please be careful.   The authentic old west Saloon, Historic Main House, Theater, Gallery, Jail are all available to tour, and for workshops, retreats, Weddings, groups etc. The two hour guided tour of the museum in the main house, the "adobe mansion" of Cattle Baron Tom Lyons, is $10 per person for RV guests.   The swimming pool and Lanai are located near the Sunset Site, RV Site #3.  It will handle any size rig, 65'+, 20/30/50 amp. Big fifth wheels, Class A or C Motorhomes, no problem. It is our only pull through site. The Lanai by the pool has BBQ, pizza oven, sink, refrigerator, music, games, croquet, darts... Site for Sore Eyes, #4, is a smaller site with 20/30 amp electrical service. It is a "back in" site suitable for Class C, CamperVans, and smaller travel trailers.   The other two RV spots are a short walk away, about 150 feet.  Site #2, Gemini Site is good for up to 65', pull in, perfect for any size Motorhome or big rig, 20/30/30/20 amp with a unique double rig pedestal that allows a second 30 amp rig to hook up at your descretion. It also has its own shaded picnic area and picnic table. 4" sewer connection.  Site #1 has a full tree canopy over head, perfect for Class C or Travel trailers. "Back in" site, 20/30/50 amp, water, 4" sewer and wi-fi.     The Mimbres design hot tub is located in the bath house between the two RV locations.  It is wood-fired and available on request. (currently off-line due to rennovations)  It takes all day to heat it up and it is NOT recommended on windy or freezing nights as it is quite exposed.   There is also a bathroom with flush toilet at the pool, along with fridge, BBQ, Wood fired pizza oven, misters and bar in the Lanai, and a guest laundry with an indoor shower nearby in the Spanish courtyard. There are additional bathrooms in the Saloon and the Theater.     Karaoke at night in the old west Saloon used to be a regular occurrence on weekends before covid, let's see if we can get that going again this summer. The Saloon is equipped for live music as well, with guitar and bass amps, P.A. and electronic drum kit. The Saloon as well as the entire property is BYOB. The Saloon is not open to the public and has no liquor license. We like it this way.      Wi-fi is available at all our RV sites, and is best in the Saloon and Gallery.  We have just installed new Wi-Fi extenders.  Cell phone service is sketchy, some people with Verizon or T-Mobile get service. The Enchanted Circle Campground sits on the Avalon Ranch. It is 161 owned acres surrounded by a state trust lease. We are very proud to have been voted #1 Campground in NM 4 years in a row and ranked Top 5 by Forbes in the country. We have 8 Sites to choose from. (No large RVs at 4, 7 or 8) Campfires are permitted, and pets are welcome. Free potable water is available as well as a portable toilet. For cooking, you will have a fire pit, with a cast iron grill. Every site (but 7) has a standing charcoal grill, with tongs, a spatula and a grill brush. A fire extinguisher and a shovel. We hang a hand washing jug at every site for your convenience, with potable water, but do not suggest this for drinking water source. The property was originally homesteaded in 1893. It was also the first potato farm in NM. It has seven ground-fed springs that run year-round and is officially the Coyote Creeks Headwaters. The springs converge after filling 4 of our ponds in the marshland where the potatoes were grown. A family of 4 lived in the first dwelling built here, not much larger than a shed. Since that time, 2 homes, 1 of which still stands, a barn, a smokehouse, and 4 other outbuildings were constructed. There are old wagons and farm equipment from the late 1800s and early 1900's still strewn about the ranch. We are home to Huge herds of Elk, mule deer, turkeys, prairie dogs, eagles, black bears, 9 horses, chickens, pigs, goats, our 2 dogs and 4 cats, and the occasional Mountain Lion. We live here year-round. We love our land and want to share it with others. I am a Veteran and our intent is to eventually have a Veterans Retreat facility here. Not a retreat itself, but rather a location for all of the retreats, nationwide, to be able to utilize, so they can use the funds they have to do what they do best. You are helping to make that possible. We do pride ourselves on minimally impacting our land. We strive to keep it clean and as close to nature as we can. And as always, Veterans, LEOs, and Fire Fighters are always free for one night up to 4 guests. Two Hawk Ranch

Two Hawk Ranch is comprised of 12 acres of high mountain valley meadows, hay fields, Acequias, trees and the Rio Chiquito. Yes, we are located at approximately 7,800ft elevation. My husband and I stumbled across this beautiful and serene property by accident in 2020 just as Covid hit. We feel blessed to be here and feel the need to share it’s calming, restful qualities. We have three adult children and have three grandchildren. We also have eight international children as we hosted international students for four years. You are welcome to come sit by the fire and be social or just do your own thing. Learn more about this land: Sites located across the property for up to 8 groups. The RV camping is located near one of our horse corrals and above our irrigation Acequia, above or next to the house, or in the field down by the arena after haying is complete (usually after the first week of July as long as the rain cooperates). Can back in or pull through and has 110v power nearby. No water to hook up to, but we can fill your tanks via hose by the house or arena. Other sites available if you don’t need power, or have a generator.  Property is within a 100yds of national forest service that gives access to off-roading, hiking, biking, horse riding, fishing, and winter snowshoeing, cross country skiing, etc. We are located just off the High Road to Taos in Llano, 29 miles south of Taos and 55 miles north of Santa Fe. We are eight miles from Ski Sipapu and eight miles from Rio Santa Barbara Canyon.  Your well-behaved pets are welcome. We also have one great dane (Raggy), a great dane mix (The Morrigan), one ranch cat (Sasha) and four horses (Gentry, Shadow, Mattie & Jr G). The dogs are a rescue of some kind. The Morrigan is black, 3.5 yrs old and comes out of a rescue in AZ. She went in with her litter as a 5 month old puppy, and she came here about a year later. She is reticent and suspicious, so ignore her and she will come up to you on her own; continue to ignore her. Ragnar (Raggy) is our most recent rescue and is from Las Cruces. He's 3 yrs old and a merle. He suffers from anxiety and fears children. We are working him through his fears, and he is doing really well. The weather here tends to run cooler, as we are located in the mountains in a small valley at approximately 7,800 ft above sea level. In the spring through fall, temps will average from mid 40°F up to mid 60°F at night and mid 60°F up to mid 90°F during the day. Temps can get into the 100°F's in the summer, but that is rare. Generally if the sun is out, it is warm or hot even tho the actual temps are not. It's a high-altitude affect. The opposite is true as well. Cloud cover will feel cooler. We also experience monsoon style rains that occur in the afternoon generally starting in July and running into August or later. In the late fall through early spring during winter, the average temps usually run from 0°F up to mid 20°F at night with occasional dips into negative temps and in the day generally run from mid 20°F up to the mid 40°F range. Same as above - if the sun is out, it will feel warmer, etc. We do hay the fields, so we may have tractor activity going on in the late spring and early summer. In the winter we will be clearing snow from the roads and feeding hay. Can't wait to see everyone this year!

Cienega Arroyo Ranch

On a working ranch, this campsite is located up a secluded arroyo off of the Hondo Valley and Rio Ruidoso in San Patricio, NM. This ranch is nearly 1400 acres total that is available for exploring and wildlife watching. During wildlife watching, it is possible that you could see roadrunners, squirrels, coyotes, rabbits, hawks, deer, elk, lizards, foxes, and many different types of song birds. A road south of the campsite is available for hiking down.Ruidoso and Ruidoso Downs are just over a 20 minute drive from this campsite. Historic Lincoln and Fort Stanton are a quick drive from this area as well. The Hurd Gallery can be visited by driving down the highway a couple miles. A fishing spot open to the public on the Rio Ruidoso is available for fishing just a few miles down the highway as well. It has been reported that this arroyo contained a cienega many years ago which was a marshy area fed by a spring, before groundwater wells ran it dry. Most cienegas are now extinct in the southwest. Sheep and Firewood were the main commodities produced off of this ranch before cattle became dominant. NM State Land is 640 of these acres which requires an annual permit for recreational use.
