2 nights at Santa Fe Treehouse Camp

Check-in and check-out was easy. Grounds were clean. Everyone was incredibly nice and helpful. Bathrooms and showers were clean. Being able to use a kitchen, coffee pot, and refrigerator was extremely helpful and felt borderline luxurious.

We absolutely adore this place. We had the BEST time. We stayed in a treehouse and it was so nice. We slept with the windows open and there was a lovely breeze coming through at night. We had a sweet hummingbird visitor for a moment one morning. The grounds are beautiful and there are tons of activities to do. I think you could spend a full week there and not get bored. The bathhouse is really clean and lovely. Lots of places to cook and clean dishes around. Several places to sit with community and meet all the other awesome guests. We did a family archery lesson with Bobcat and it was spectacular. Our 6 and 8 year old kids enjoyed it just as much as we did. I hope we can return soon and often.

3 nights at Santa Fe Treehouse Camp

Ciana was friendly when I checked in. Jonathan provided great advice about hiking up to Shaggy Mountain which I did and it’s a fun hike - great views. Campground had a nice bathroom with hot showers, flush toilets. If you’re coming in with a Campervan like me, some sites are level some are not and there’s no dump station. There’s well water spigot by bathroom. Great sunset views as the campground is on a ridge line. I engaged 4x4 but didn’t really need it. The town was out grading the roads so no washboard. Stayed 1 night, would do again.

Beautiful location!! Tent had 2 double beds to sleep on. The accommodations include an open air kitchen with all the amenities of your home's kitchen. All the common areas where clean. The location is near so many interesting places and hiking trails.

Beautiful and special place. Everything was smooth and peaceful.

Susan and Dale are exceptional hosts. We had a blast at their camp spot. The kids loved feeding the elk, hanging out with the dogs and riding on the tractor. The view is beautiful and there’s an amazing diving platform. Thanks for making us so welcome and showing us around!

This really was an unbelievable site! It was out in nature and also a local treat. The cemetery that is just nearby is not just a traditional cemetery but the Land of the Dead where there are beautiful, artistic markers and space to enjoy yourself. This isn't a sad place, but a celebration of life. If you need your creative juices recharged, this site works from all angles! All sorts of surprises await even including a friendly, glowing outhouse with a solar light lit path. We also had a friendly visit from the owner's dog, who really was just the sweetest! A campsite itself looks out upon a beautiful view and is very private and spacious. There's a parking area and an area with seating to look out on the views. Kim came out to visit us and answer any questions we had. It was a wonderful experience! The road up was a white-knuckle experience, but like the instructions said, we took it slow and we were able to make it without four-wheel drive. And it was worth it!

Stayed at tecolote treehouse. Like being a kid at camp. Hosts were lovely, place is super cool, high up with great views.

Stayed over night and had a great stay. Good views and nice camp site. Kim came to my site to introduce here dogs and had a nice chat with her. Would stay here again for sure.

This is a non-smoking, no candle facility. The camp was founded 40 years ago as a summer camp for kids. We continue to offer camps for children and their parents and grandparents (family camps), as well as welcome adults and other groups to enjoy the vast and wild high desert nature up on this ridge. Register for our nature education activities and resources available for everyone who stays on the property. These topics include sustainability, recycling, composting, water conservation, wildfire prevention, outdoor safety, and nature awareness along with the use of our hiking trails. You can also join an archery class, tomahawk throwing, climbing on the mobile climbing wall, Yoga, Qigong, Climbing Into The Heart of the Mother Tree, Star talks and more... There are beautiful views and access to Shaggy Peak, the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Wander our land to enjoy various level hiking trails including a 20 minute hike to a creek and waterfall in the forest (some steep spots and creek is intermittent) or climb up Shaggy Peak (seasoned hikers only please). IMPORTANT: We are up 1.3 miles of dirt road (with 5-7+% grade in a few short stretches) and are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle! Be aware that the roads can be snowy, icy or muddy and rutted ( 4-wheel or All-trak recommended in certain times of year). We don’t guarantee the road will be plowed. Travel Queen Camper / Parking Spot

The Travel Queen camper is great for car and van campers who want a little more space, a kitchen and a compost toilet. An adjacent spot is good for parking a Sprinter or other van or small RV. Cool shade in the Summer afternoons and dry and warm in the Winter. Enclosed dog yard with dog house! Safe and dog-friendly with afternoon shade. the adjacent parking spot is about 20 ft long and 15 ft wide, and is next to my live-work space. There is a small fire pit and propane BBQ in the enclosed yard (bring your own wood for fire pit, and matches). Sometimes, you can hear the sound of dogs from the dog shelter a 1/2 mile away and who knows maybe one will call you over for adoption ;-) Otherwise It's fairly quiet at night. No tents or trailers please. There is nightly music at the Sagebrush Inn and good restaurants nearby. It's a 25min drive to Taos Ski Valley.

We are excited to share our little A-frame cabin in the woods! The cabin is quite rustic ( and quite cute). Think of it like glamping -- outhouse, wood burning stove, dirt roads, and beautiful trees and mountains included. ** To keep the cabin affordable, all guests are responsible for cleaning up the cabin at the end of the stay and making it ready for the next guest. There are no cleaners coming in after you. ** The cabin is a 432 square foot A-frame in a small mountain community, which is surrounded by the Jemez National Forest. There are a few places to hike right from the front door, and many, many trailheads within a 20 minute drive. Fenton Lake is a short drive away, and the San Antonio Hot Springs is a 2.5 mile hike, bike, or ski away right out the front door for the confident adventurer. Located 1.5 hours from Albuquerque and Santa Fe, a few miles off of NM-4 between the town of Jemez Springs and the Valles Caldera National Preserve. There is one challenging spot, but beside that, the float is calm and tranquil. Please be aware, we have cats, chickens, goats, donkeys, horses and dogs that live on the property. Your pets are welcome only if they are guaranteed to not pester or hurt our posse of pets. Also, we will not tolerate excessive barking or inappropriate running around or bothering ourselves or other guests. You must pick up all your and your pets waste and take it with you when you leave. Right by the river, held by a ridge (that makes for amazing sunset hikes), I have a 16ft Yurt Canvas set up with furnishings (desk, couch, wash stand) and a wooden Queen Bed with down bedding. This site can only be reached by foot across the river via stumps- a car can be parked near by.. approx. 50ft. I also have a Vintage Camper that can be heated, has a kitchen, electricity and plenty of outdoor furniture with a fire pit and serene mountain views. As well as a monastic and very grounding Ensuite Bedroom, or a simple campsite if you want to bring your own camper or tent. All facilities have access to a guest bathroom inside the main house. I offer dog sitting while you soak at Ojo, healing modalities that you'll find in the Extras section, and my dear neighbor Jackie takes appointments for massages with homemade essential oils. +++ 6 miles to Ojo Caliente Hot Springs. There you will find the best restaurant in the area, with locally/organically farmed produce. The land is naturally and beautifully wild- it is not a manicured campsite. The dirt rd down to the property is best suited for higher clearance vehicles, but is manageable for city cars. With land by the river comes the mosquitos- June to August only. They are predominantly active during sunrise and sunset; long loose fitting clothes and a repellent work great. Waterhole, Waterfall and climbing sites near by, as well as Plaza Blanca, Abiquiu, Ghost Ranch and the Taos Gorge are 30 mins drive away. *No cell service in the greater area. WiFi reaches around the house/deck and allows for WiFi Calling: that’s a setting in your phone that enables phone calls & texts beside usual internet access.
