As we were only staying one night, we were not able to engage in the tour of the farm which has some interesting practices. The bathhouse was GREAT, spacious warm hot shower! The grounds are nice and a friendly dog to match.

Perfect for our small rv

We had a very nice stay at Harmony. It is super convenient to town, and we enjoyed visiting with our host, Anastasia. The bath house is very nice, and contains toilets and showers. It opens mid March. Not sure when it closes. We have a completely self contained small rv and this place was perfect, as we do not need electricity or wifi. We wanted to be close to town and not have to be at a commercial campground. We will be back!

The campsite is right in the front lawn of the house which felt kind of awkward especially since no one came to greet us besides the dogs. We were expecting to be further away from the main house and have more privacy. We did enjoy watching the dogs in the early morning chasing a coyote around the neighborhood. We stayed for Thanksgiving and we were told that the bathhouse was closed which is fine but we didn’t realized that meant no toilet, good thing that we were close to town. For this reason, the price should be lowered or the campground closed for the winter. Kind of noisy, a lot of traffic noise. The night sky was beautiful. A lot of stars.

We didn’t enjoy our stay. We have two dogs that are sometimes protective. They are well behaved but can be reactive if an unattended dog, off leash, wanders into our campsite. They are on their leashes always and we never let them run free. (We have a huge 100% fenced in yard for them at home). We always check out potential HipCamp sites for free-roam dogs, and choose sites that don’t have any. When we arrived at the site, I didn’t have a good feeling. We were surrounded by neighbors’ farm fields, exactly the type of property experience has shown to have dogs patrolling the area. So Suzanne sent the hosts a note asking if there are any loose dogs. And she said yes, the hosts themselves have two dogs that are free to roam, and that they are friendly and aggressive dogs are not allowed. We pulled our dogs into the van where we remained except for a quick pee break, while keeping our heads on a swivel. When I came back from the bathhouse after brushing my one of their dogs had perched himself in front of the van door. I stopped and greeted him with a soft friendly tone. He just stared . I had to go back to the van driver side door. That dog might be friendly but I didn’t want to stick around and find out. I slowly backed away and back to the van. If you travel with dogs that like the camp to themselves this might not be the place for you. Bathhouse is pretty sweet though.

Beautiful location, close to Taos

Anastasia is a welcoming host who shares her farm in its beautiful location, conveniently close to Taos, NM, where there is so much to explore. We were invited to tour and learn about all the various efforts Anastasia and her community are experimenting with sustainable practices. The Mountain view from our site was gorgeous at sunset and sunrise. Also, guests are given access to a beautiful and well-maintained bath house. We would definitely visit again and appreciate the stay.

bath house is beautiful! there is a cafe/gourmet ice cream shop about 1/4-1/2 mile down the driveway that we walked to and loved-the teepee was a nice place to sleep-comfy mattresses

We enjoyed staying in the teepee. It was situated in a little grove of trees away from the driveway, main house and bathhouse, so it felt private. The views were incredible. The asters were abundant creating a magical feel to the land. Our camp host was welcoming as were the dogs Japser and Ralph. We would gladly return!

A quiet and peaceful place to camp. Anastasia was a terrific host and we met some wonderful members of the community when we pitched in to help one morning on a "yurt raising"! Mountain views are a big plus. We hope to return!

It’s true, the bath house is pretty awesome and the views are truly spectacular. The sites are kind of in the hosts front yard, but it was super quiet and peaceful on the property even with another camper nearby. I would stay here again.

Beautiful place, superior base camp

Second time pitching a tent on the Harmony Farm. Plan on being back again. We used as a base camp for fishing on the Rio Grande. Beautiful spot, family friendly and the wash house is well kept. The addition of picnic tables this year was awesome, beats cooking off the tailgate of the truck. If cooking isn’t your thing there are some great local restaurants in town. Jasper (the wonder-dog) comes to meet you as you cook breakfast each morning and warns off the coyotes throughout the day. Lots of guests in and out through the day but everyone is super friendly and stops to say hi. You are camping in the front yard of a residence on the edge of town, but that too is awesome, listened to the announcer and crowd as the Taos Tigers high school football team score off a fumble. Good times. Again, love the location and the friendly atmosphere can’t be beat.

Out of 14 Hipcamp stays, I have never given a thumbs down until now. Perhaps this was not my vibe but for the cost it lacked privacy, had sort of views, and the host availed herself briefly, from afar to ask if I slept well. I paid for and stayed two nights. I wish I had not.

TLDR: Tipi was fun for my kids and well kept and had a nice view. Loved the sunflowers in bloom during our late August stay. Bring your own sleeping mats and plan to eat out during your stay - amenities more limited than advertised There was some seating around the property but since it is so close to the home itself where the property owners live it was unclear and a bit uncomfortable going beyond our immediate spot at the tipi. It really felt like we were camping in their front yard which was awkward - especially with young kids wanting to wander around. Bathrooms were on a septic system so they had signage to leave urine in the toilet and wet TP be thrown away rather than be flushed. Over the 3 days we were there, no one emptied the trash which felt unkempt with that set up. It was clear they were not cleaning the bathrooms daily. Communication was unclear about amenities. They list “cooking equipment present” but there was no cooking setup - not even a grill anywhere in sight. Having stayed at similar set ups that prohibit fires but have some sort of cooking alternatives, this was disappointing and also unclear from the posting. Also was unclear on what sleeping mats were available for the tipi. They list “two futons” to “sleep 4” in the tipi but it took a lot of back and forth to arrange for sleeping mats for 4 people upon arrival. The futon mats were in rough shape and really not reasonable for my husband or I to sleep on.

Anastasia is a lovely and attentive host making sure you are familiar with the property and its features. The tipi has great privacy away from the other sites. Be sure to bring your own bedding to be comfortable for sleeping. We camped on a full moon and it was very cool to be in the tipi with the changing light
