Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Dragon Ridge Basecamp, your gateway to the Florida Peaks! Located in Deming NM rock hounder's paradise. This basecamp is located at the base of Dragon Ridge and the Florida Peak. Near rockhound state park. The property backs up to BLM land so there is endless hiking. There are several washes and gravel beds. Agate, chalcedony, chert, Jasper and Epidotes are commonly found on the property.Site 1 is set at the base of the impressive Dragon Ridge and the Florida peaks. The site is 50 acres that backs up to federal open space, almost unlimited hiking and rock hounding at this adventure property. Higher clearance vehicle recommended. Pull in, park and adventure! There is a fire ring. The roads are mostly gravel but there are at times a wash/ruts. This is primitive camping with stunning views! You can get RVs back there but PLEASE check out the site first to make sure you can. The road is mostly gravel but in rain could be slick.

Dragon Ridge Basecamp Site 1
One of the best spots I've been too in a long time. Always nice to have a secluded spot where my dog can roam peacefully. Had fun looking for rocks and enjoying the views , great big night skies .
