4 nights at Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch

The mountain views were amazing. Full hookups were very convenient. Karla was very nice and my kids enjoyed grooming and exercising the horses. There were several amazing spaces guests can use… A coffee room and pool bathroom. The beautiful pool with amazing lighting for nighttime swimming. A cute little pool house with seating. A covered picnic area and a few other unique hang out spots. Very highly recommend!

2 nights at Iron Quail Ranch

Beautiful desert property! You can see they put a lot of work into it. We stayed there as a “quick” way to get to kitt peak observatory, which you can see from the campsite!! It is an hour drive up but that’s about as close as you can camp to the observatory!

5 nights at Sanctuary at Sonoita Creek

Such an amazing place, we loved our stay. Shade over the RV, wonderful outdoor shower, walking distance to Paton's center for hummingbirds, as well as all the shops and restaurants Patagonia has to offer. The other cabins/trailers are brightly painted greens, oranges and blues, and the whole place just has the cutest, most charming, and relaxing vibe you can imagine. 12 out of 10 stars. Friendly, responsive and flexible. Previously we stayed in the Retro, and loved it, but this time we had our own trailer. We stayed at Patagonia lake for a few days first, but if I had to do it over again I would have spent the whole time at the Sanctuary.

1 night at Rancho Relaxo

I loved staying at Claire's camp. We had a site to put our tent on that was soft and having access to the water was great. The bathroom and shower were a most welcome addition in the summer weather. Instructions to get to the camp are also clear and easy to follow. The Saguaro national park is only 7 miles away. Super calm and quiet, with some friendly farm animals!

Weekend Trip to Rancho del Nido RV Horse Camp

We absolutely loved it. The directions were very clear and the owner told us to call just to make sure we made it okay down the road! We loved being by the house pens our daughter just loved them! We would definitely stay again if in the area!

Weekend Trip to Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch

1000/10- wow. Everything we needed and more. Karla is such a caring and considerate host with a magical place to share. My dog and I booked as a last minute self care getaway. Upon our arrival, the sun was still up and I already saw the magic: the horses, the donkey, the quaint sleeping area, the rocking swings, the pool area!! But then the sun went down and all the colorful lights turned on! I was so relaxed and happy that I fell asleep on my yoga mat outside in the dirt at 9pm - in the middle of yoga! I took myself to bed and slept so peacefully to dessert nightlife and horse sounds. The sun rises in the direction the camp faces- I was woken up so gently by the first signs of light and proceeded to finish my yoga sesh. Spent the morning contemplating life on the hammock and visiting with the breathtaking horses and donkey. I cannot express how much I needed this and how thankful I am to have had this experience at the hummingbird ranch🤍

This location is AMAZING. Karla has done a wonderful job developing her land, and is such an amazing welcoming host. She met me rolling in, showed me where to park, gave me the lay of the land and THEN, when I discovered some inside-the-camper damage (door stripped from wood frame d/t road vibrations) allowed me to walk through her massive tool garage to get everything I needed to fix it. I told her I'd likely be leaving very early, and she was up waving g goodbye as I was leaving at 5am! She try cares about her space, as well as her guests. And be warned, her pool is COLD! I expected it to be desert sun warmed, but it was uber refreshing! Thank you, so much, Karla, for everything.

1 night at Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch

What an amazing night we had at Karla’s. We stayed in the pool house and it was perfect. Karla’s attention to detail is outstanding. The pool was so clean and the garden and lights made the night magical. Everything was so clean and comfortable and Karla made sure we had everything we needed. The price was great for what was available. The shared kitchen was great and bathroom spotless. Clear to see that Karla puts so much love into this property and we feel lucky to have explored her beautiful land. Just the flowers alone would make us return. This was a perfect stay and I would recommend it 100 percent. Amazing!!!

Beautiful and well stocked campground. Mary is awesome and the furry welcoming representative was the best! I didn't expect so many kitchen amenities. Stove, kettle, fridge, microwave, and toaster oven.

Weekend Trip to Exception Ranch RV Site

We enjoyed our time at Claudia's property. Our kid really had fun in the cowboy pool with an amazing view. We also explored the land with our dogs. The restroom was very clean and stocked. The best part was the peace and quiet we had during our stay. The hosts, Claudia and her husband, were very accommodating and thoughtful. We highly recommend them for families with kids and pets!

Oh my goodness! Where to start with this incredible campground? Our favorite Hipcamp stop ever! Nice big sites, free laundry facilities, outdoor shower, free bikes and kayaks, and a spiral staircase leading to a rooftop deck with nice views! Quiet and so close to town and an outstanding bird sanctuary. Within walking distance! We will FOR SURE be back again! Thank you!

Weekend Trip to Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Karla’s, I honestly don’t think it could have been better. If we weren’t en route to a wedding, we would have stayed longer than one night. We will visit again at some point. We were doing some wine tasting and just generally driving around the Elgin area as we’ve been through before but never stopped. Glad we stopped and beyond glad we met Karla and got to enjoy her sanctuary.

Welcome to Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch! All guests must be over the age of 18. My private horse property is located in the Sky Islands area of South Eastern Arizona. I have 2 horses and lots of local birds hang out here. I offer 2 full hook-up spaces, one space is covered. Power is 50 AMPS! An RV must be under 12' to fit under the cover. I offer 4 dry camping options. You can book the Tent Cabana-The Shady Rest- listing or you can dry camp by booking through my Tent and Vehicle Camping listing. There are no exact designated spaces for tent/vehicle camping. You can choose where you prefer to camp. I also have the Pool House, an indoor option with a power outlet, and it's close to the pool and restroom area. There is a restroom/breakfast room off the pool area. This is my private property, you and your gear are safe and secure. You can leave your campsite and go exploring, no one will bother your stuff. I have WiFi and great cell service here. You must arrive by dark. My gates will be closed at dark. I am located just over an hour away from Tucson and 25 minutes off the 10. My place is 10 minutes from Coronado National Forest. The property is tranquil, peaceful, and quiet. You will see a lot of quail and other birds on the property. There are 2 varieties of quail who visit daily. Dry campers- Off the pool area there is a clean restroom in my back garage and a sink with hot water. There is a clean refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker available for your use. Each tent, and/or a place where people sleep is a campsite....in other words you can't book 1 tent camping site and then add your friends who come in their vehicle and set up a campsite. That is 2 campsites. NOTE- The only bad review I have is from someone who booked one campsite then had her friends come during the night and take another site. I had the nerve to ask them to pay for that extra site. (they refused). My photos-At the end of my gallery are photos of "PROJECTS", things I've made. There are many kinds of cactus in our area in addition to the magnificent Saguaro, and uneven areas when walking. We keep it as natural as possible. We have a small "Mercantile" on property. This is our office, but we also have items you may have forgotten, and souvenirs made by local artists. Also available is firewood, and ice is for sale for your convenience. We have a small Laundry Shack (two washers, two dryers) 2.00 wash/2.00 dry. You'll need cash for these things, we do not take any other form of payment at this time. Camp Saguaro is tobacco-free. We looked at each other as we walked around looking at the stunning Mtn. Views and the mesquite fence and knew we were finally "home." I've always adored the SW Hummingbirds and wanted to name the property La Hacienda Chuparosa. When we moved in, for the first week, every morning a hummingbird was sipping nectar from one of our plants in the front yard. We knew it was meant to be. So we added a couple of horses to our dream, built some stalls, and now are ready to welcome you to La Hacienda Chuparosa. We know you will find the same magic here that we do.
