With the Saguaro National Park Visitor Center, Tucson Mountain Park, and Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum all within four miles, there is plenty of opportunity to explore the outdoors. Tucson Mountain Park and Saguaro National Park boast hundreds of miles of hiking trails, and non-motorized mountain bikes are permitted on the trails in Tucson Mountain Park. Let us be your base camp for desert exploration whether it's hiking, riding, birdwatching, and learning. Come to Camp Saguaro and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the desert. Our friendly hosts can help you plan a great day, some of them even have their Certified Tourism Amabssador credentials. Please note: We are tobacco-free, medicinal herbs are legal and ok as long as children are not around.
What to expect:
We are in a rural neighborhood where most parcels are 1-3 acres, we have seven acres. It's quiet around here but along with the natural sounds of the desert like yipping coyotes, and woodpeckers pecking, you may hear a horse, dog, or chicken. While we are on the outskirts of Tucson, we are not completely remote.
We have carved our sites out of the natural layout of the desert. There are many kinds of cactus in our area in addition to the magnificent Saguaro, and uneven areas when walking. We keep it as natural as possible.
We have a small "Mercantile" on property. This is our office, but we also have items you may have forgotten, and souvenirs made by local artists. Also available is firewood, and ice is for sale for your convenience. We have a small Laundry Shack (two washers, two dryers) 2.00 wash/2.00 dry. You'll need cash for these things, we do not take any other form of payment at this time.
Camp Saguaro is tobacco-free.

Then my place is for you! 18 and over. NO PIT BULLS. Good well behaved dogs allowed on leash welcome. If you want to bring a properly raised young person you can make your case to me and I will consider.
I offer 2 full hook-up spaces, one space is covered. Power is 50 AMPS! An RV must be under 12' to fit under the covered space.
I offer 4 dry camping options. You can book the Tent Cabana-The Shady Rest- listing or you can dry camp by booking through my Tent and Vehicle Camping listing. There are no exact designated spaces for tent/vehicle camping. You can choose where you prefer to camp. An extra vehicle is OK as long as it's part of your one campsite. 2 groups with 2 camp vehicles is 2 campsites.
I also have the Pool House, an indoor option with a power outlet, and it's close to the pool and restroom area. You can set up your bed or rent a full size bed which I will set up for you.
This is my private property, you and your gear are safe and secure. You can leave your campsite and go exploring, no one will bother your stuff.
I have WiFi and great cell service here. Please arrive by 8pm unless arrangements are made in advance. I meet with you and show you around.

I am located just over an hour away from Tucson and 25 minutes off the 10.
Dry campers- Off the pool area there is a clean restroom in my back garage and a sink with hot water. There is a breakfast room with clean refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker available for your use. Lots of local birds visit daily. You are welcome to visit and pet my horses and donkeys!

We have a cool, shaded retreat for your picnic in the park. This wooded area, nestled in a narrow, steep-walled riparian canyon, was originally developed in 1935 by the Civilian Conservation Corps as part of its larger park-building initiative.
Located below Colossal Cave, there are picnic areas to accommodate both large and small groups. The El Bosquecito and La Selvilla areas can host up to 72 and 96 people, respectively. The Cowboy Campground and Cowboy Ramada can accommodate up to 80 and 100 people. All sites feature picnic tables, fire pits, and grills, with restrooms and water available nearby.
Didn't bring your lunch? No problem! The Terrace Café offers delicious grab-and-go Tucson specialties and other favorites, so pick your spot, relax, and listen to the birds serenade your meal.
If you'd like to stay longer than a day, why not camp under the magnificent Sonoran skies? Campsites are tucked among towering saguaro cacti and mesquite trees in Posta Quemada Canyon, an area developed in 1934 by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The campground includes four large areas—El Bosquecito, La Selvilla, Cowboy Campground, and Cowboy Ramada—plus 15 additional individual campsites.
Camping Rates:
• Tent Camping: $15 per tent, per night
• Group Site Reservations: $150 per night (groups of more than 10 guests save money compared to individual rates!)
• RV, Car, and Horse Trailer Camping: $15 per vehicle, per night
Please note:

The view from the area is great, and the area has some pines, as do the neighboring properties. Turkey cross the property seasonally, as well as the occasional deer. This is a leave no trace site.
The site is current undergoing enchancements, so there will be evidence of demolished boulders, landscaping, and fencing. The site is safe to traverse, but care should be taken to avoid rock and uneven terrain, fence posts, and so on. Usage of the site is at your own risk.
Toilet and waste:
A bucket toilet is provided, with composting bags. Toilet waste, as well as other waste, must be taken with you, when you leave; there is no trash service. There are sometimes dumpsters in town that can be used to dispose of waste.
The bucket toilet consists of a bucket, bucket seat, funnel, and hose. The consumables are composting toilet bags, wood shavings/chips, and toilet paper. You do not need to use the funnel and hose, but may if you wish. At a minimum, place the bag into the bucket, with the bag edge over the edge of the bucket, and place the bucket seat onto the bucket. The bucket seat should firmly fit onto the bucket, and retain the bag.
When your stay is complete, please make sure the seat and bucket are clean, as well as the funnel and hose, if you used them. Please make sure all supplies are returned to the Toilet Supplies container.

The address is 12672 N Ray Ave.
Make your way to the intersection of N Sabino Canyon Parkway and Retreat Rd. in Summerhaven, AZ. Head east up the steep Retreat Rd., and make the right onto Tucson Ave., followed by a quick left onto what Google says is Ray Ave. Make an immediate right onto N. Ray Ave, and follow the dirt road until a steep driveway on the left appears. This driveway (and the other entrance 100 ft further on) provide access to the land. If trying to park off the driveway, enter the first driveway entrance to drive forward onto the approach and park, or enter the second driveway and then back onto the approach and park. Once parked (See Parking for additional instructions), access the land from the driveway according to the images.
Parking:
WARNING: Do not park on the driveway itself. There is a half-moon driveway that provides a way to either drive forward or backward onto the approach. Park on the (1) dirt approach to the land, just off the steep driveway, or (2) on the half moon parking spot at the top of the driveway, or (3) at the bottom on Ray Ave, out of the way. If any vehicles are blocking vehicular access to the dirt approach to the land, please contact me.
Recreation:
The shops of Summerhaven are close. Marshall Gulch is a popular recreation area on the Arizona Trail, South of Summerhaven. There is also a lot of opportunity to hike and rock climb on the area.
The area is not very suitable for RVs; it is not possible to bring an RV onto the property.

Camp Overland is 11 acres of mesquite covered hills within the town of Patagonia and bordered by Nature Conservancy land to the west. The campsites are all very private and have incredible views, yet are within short walking distance from the restaurants, shops and all of the other activities that Patagonia has to offer. Propane stoves are allowed at all sites and there is a communal fire area with a wood burning Solo stove.

Park your RV at our place on your travels, we are 5 min off the interstate! Dirt road is great for walking, some parts of the year people pass through for birding. Some people come to check out the area to potentially move to the area and some only come for the winters. We also have a short little nature trail that we made ourselves. We are 30 minutes south of Tucson, 25 minute drive away from Madera Canyon/Coronado National Forest for some great hiking and bird watching! No light pollution so you can see the stars good at night. Remember the term sky island. Here in southeastern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico, mountains seemingly come out of nowhere to dominate an otherwise flat landscape. Discover the five distinct areas of this national forest, all of which have their own sky islands.
Start your wanderings at Sabino Canyon. Steep rock cliffs and unique desert vegetation follow Sabino Creek, which maintains water year-round. Keep a sharp eye out for desert wildlife adapted for high heat and low humidity. Gila monsters may sun themselves on rocks, while bobcats sip from the creek's water.
Discover Miller Peak, the highest peak in the Huachuca Mountains. Wilderness surrounding the area comprises vertical cliffs and deep canyons. Follow an 11.5-mile, moderately hard trail to the top of the mountain. The mountain rises 3,500 feet above the countrysidePets are allowed. Please make sure you pick up after them.

Weekend Trip to Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch
Karla's hummingbird house was sensational. The tiki lights at sunset surrounding the pool and inside the pool were dreamlike. The pool house was clean comfy and eclectic. Through kitchenette and bathroom area was nostalgic and like walking into the past and a past that is good. I will definitely be back!

If you want a top notch, peaceful, relaxing retreat, you’ll find it at the Saguaro Sky Ranch. If you want a superb host to become a newfound friend, you’ll find her in Barb! She’s welcoming, helpful, available, open to questions and responds quickly.
Barb has created many amazing spaces on her land amid the saguaro cacti and desert-scapes, each one a mini-refuge to unwind, chill out and enjoy the sunrise, the wide open views overlooking Tucson, or thunderstorms over the distant mountains. I found my favorite spot and didn’t want to leave. Be careful to not step on the resident tarantulas!
Genevieve may be small by today’s standards but it’s plenty of room. I loved the homey touches and the super comfy bed. The shower and bathroom are enclosed but open to the blue sky. Loved it! You are steps away from jumping in the pool.
Saguaro Sky Ranch is in close proximity to the national park. Trailheads for miles of hiking are just down the road. Ask Barb about the nearby petroglyphs.
Can’t imagine a better base camp for seeing Tucson nor a better host to know!

I was very hopeful after reading so many fantastic reviews, and I'm happy to say that it surpassed my expectations! I can confirm it felt very safe as it was tucked behind a very nice, clean residential area, but was far enough away from it all that it was extremely peaceful and a stunning view. It was also easy to find as many other reviews mentioned. I would happily return and recommend to anyone looking for a nice, quiet, safe place to stop in the Tucson area.

This is my go-to Hipcamp spot, and there’s a reason I keep coming back! The property offers the perfect amount of tree shade, keeping the sites nice and cool. It is incredibly quiet and peaceful, making it a true escape. Close to town and a couple of great bars and restaurants. The host and owner are fantastic—so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!

I loved tent camping on Jennifer’s land!! I was discouraged to learn that all the campgrounds in or around Tucson were closed during the summer due to the heat. My vacation wasn’t a planned one and I had no idea that probably wouldn’t find one open. I stayed the first night in a motel and the lovely lady at the desk provided me with Jennifer’s name and number. I think I might of woke her up, I didn’t realize how early in the morning it was. She gave me clear directions and I arrived at Mesquite Haven around 11am. The campground was small and very homey. Jennifer was so helpful and accommodating! I was in some distress when I arrived. And Jennifer provided me with names of places to look and helped me by just being a good listener. When the heat got unbearable she provided me a lovely air conditioned place for me to sleep. My stay was fairly short but the goal of my trip complete. Next trip I take will be planned and I feel that I’d definitely include Mesquite Haven! It was close to Tucson, yet out in the country. Loved it there!
