Welcome to Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch! My 8 acre private horse property is located in the Sky Islands area of South Eastern Arizona. Are you grown ups who don't want to be next to kids yelling and running around dropping trash and throwing rocks, or barking pit bulls chained up, or loud music and generators? Do you like a clean restroom and a nice breakfast area on a well maintained property? Do you want to feel safe, enjoy beautiful views and know your stuff won't be stolen while you are in Tombstone? Then my place is for you! 18 and over. NO PIT BULLS. Good well behaved dogs allowed on leash welcome. If you want to bring a properly raised young person you can make your case to me and I will consider. I offer 2 full hook-up spaces, one space is covered. Power is 50 AMPS! An RV must be under 12' to fit under the covered space. I offer 4 dry camping options. You can book the Tent Cabana-The Shady Rest- listing or you can dry camp by booking through my Tent and Vehicle Camping listing. There are no exact designated spaces for tent/vehicle camping. You can choose where you prefer to camp. An extra vehicle is OK as long as it's part of your one campsite. 2 groups with 2 camp vehicles is 2 campsites. I also have the Pool House, an indoor option with a power outlet, and it's close to the pool and restroom area. You can set up your bed or rent a full size bed which I will set up for you. This is my private property, you and your gear are safe and secure. You can leave your campsite and go exploring, no one will bother your stuff. I have WiFi and great cell service here. Please arrive by 8pm unless arrangements are made in advance. I meet with you and show you around. I will greet you and show you around. I close my gates at dark. Once you are here you may come and go as you please. I am located just over an hour away from Tucson and 25 minutes off the 10. Dry campers- Off the pool area there is a clean restroom in my back garage and a sink with hot water. There is a breakfast room with clean refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker available for your use. Lots of local birds visit daily. You are welcome to visit and pet my horses and donkeys!

Karla's Hummingbird Ranch has additional camping spaces for tents, vehicles etc. that don't require an RV hook-up. I have lots of room. There is a cabana with a firepit for all to use. You may camp there if you like. I have a nice restroom microwave, coffee table and fridge in the garage off the pool area. This is a private 8+ acre horse property with a barn and an arena. The pool area has a pool house for poolside dining. This property is for people who enjoy tranquillity. Dogs must be on a leash. The camping area is dirt.  It is quiet and peaceful. Very clean. Solo women campers- this is a safe non-creepy place to camp. My ranch has a friendly/family-style vibe. This is my private property, you and your stuff are safe and secure. You can go exploring for the day and no one will bother your campsite. There is no power out by the cabanas. There is power in the garage and pool area. There is no shower or laundry. There is a Planet Fitness in Sierra Vista, they have showers. I have WiFi and great cell service here also. You must arrive by dark. I will close the gates at dark. If you would like to plan a friends/family private camping gathering contact me and I can add a couple of extra spaces to accommodate you.  You possibly can have the place to yourselves. Each vehicle and/or tent and campers is a separate site. I am off Hwy 82, there is some hwy traffic noise.  It's a high desert/prairie. 4200 ft elevation. Be aware that this area gets approx 22" of rain, mostly during summer. Beautiful storms, lots of lightning. It is hot and humid and buggy if it's an above-average monsoon season.  June-High 94. Site 4 is a 16 x 14 tent shelter, there is room inside for a large tent, or you can use it as a bedroom and skip the tent. There is a picnic table, benches and shelves. The front has closeable sunshade curtains. It is lit at night with solar cabana lights which can be shut off for sleep. It's very pretty, it is decorated inside with a western theme. There is hardware inside for a hammock. The outside is handpainted salvage barn wood. I made this cabana myself. Your campsite will have full shelter from weather. You can park your vehicle next to it and camp inside, or you can camp in your vehicle and use the cabana for gathering and dining. Easy walk to the restroom and pool area. I have hotwater and power in the garage restroom area, no shower. There is a Planet Fitness in Sierra Vista, they have showers. This cabana does not have power. Music provided by resident birds. This is my private property, you and your stuff are safe and secure. You can go exploring for the day and no one will bother your campsite. I have WiFi and great cell service. There are 2 varieties of quail who visit daily as well as Desert Cardinals, Cactus Wrens, Curved Billed Thrashers and song birds. You will hear coyotes at night. You might see javilina, rabbits, maybe a bobcat! The road is also quiet. I am off Hwy 82, there is some hwy traffic noise. My property is natural on 3 sides. Looking North, West and South are all-natural views.. 4200 ft elevation. Excellent views.  Camping spots are dirt and gravel.  Power is 50 AMPS! Site 5- The Pool House

The Pool House is available for guests who want an inside shelter. It is 10 x 10 with 2 windows and French doors. The windows and doors have privacy blinds and locks. Bring your own bed or let me know you will need a bed and I will have a full size bed set up for you for a $10.00 fee. There is a heater and power. There is room for one cot/air mattress leaving the table and 2 chairs inside, or the table and chairs can easily be removed to accommodate 2 cots/air mattresses. It is close to the restroom and breakfast area and you can enjoy the beautiful pool views. There is an outlet for charging electronics etc. Lighting is desk lamp. The garage has a restroom, hot water, refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. No dogs in the pool house. You must arrive by dark. I will close the gates at dark.

Site 7-Garden Guest Bed Room

A beautiful guest room facing the front gardens. This is a guest room inside of my house, Hipcamp doesn't have an option for adding a guest room, I had to choose Cabin for the type of lodging, it's not a cabin. It has a queen-size bed, a vanity with a lighted mirror and tables. The closet has shelves. It sits down the hall from the guest bath. There is a separate entrance door for the guest rooms, that entrance is off the pool area. The guest rooms have a living room adjacent for their use. There is no TV. There is WiFi. I have 2 tabby house cats which came from a rescue in May of this year, 2024. They are inside cats, they are well-mannered. They are yearlings, they play a lot and are very friendly. The cats are not allowed in the guest rooms or guest bath, they have their own room for their stuff. I keep them and their room, and the whole house very clean. Take note if you don't like cats or are allergic. Because of the cats no pets are allowed for guest room guests. Guests staying inside the house can use the laundry, and I will have breakfast coffee and coffee cake available. Please no smoking inside the house. This room is larger than the other room, there is plenty of room for 2 people. You must arrive by dark. My place will be closed at dark.

Site 5- The Pool House
Karla is such a thoughtful, hospitable hipcamp host. She puts so much intention into the details to make your stay comfortable and welcome. We really appreciated the unexpected accommodations like coffee, a microwave, snacks and games. Her property is really magically decorated as well. Five stars!

Karla is an exemplary host, so helpful and available for all our questions. Hummingbird ranch has all the amenities we needed for our RV. Getting to visit the horses and donkeys was an added benefit. We were able to identify 14 species of birds in February with our Merlin app. We were the only visitors during our stay which made our stay even more memorable. Karla has gone above and beyond with her artistic landscaping throughout her property. We’ll definitely stay again and highly recommend Karla’s Hummingbird Ranch for RV’s or camping!

We had a great stay. Karla is cool, helpful and friendly. The place is super clean and thoughtfully put together. You can tell a lot of care and time went into it. It's a nice cozy ranch under the stars, surrounded by a great landscape. Perfect for relaxing or exploring. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful spot to stay! Karla was so sweet, helpful, and welcoming. We felt so safe and had everything we needed. She’s done such an amazing job making her ranch unique and beautiful! There’s tons of beautiful lights at night that make it feel so magical. Then there is a great view during the day of the mountains. Wonderful spot and we’d love to stay again!

Such a wonderful place to stay. Location was peaceful. I felt totally safe. Pet the donkeys and the horses. I would love to come back when it’s a little warmer to take advantage of the pool area. Karla has her property set up for tents/rvers/people who need a room. It felt magical at night as all the solar lights slowly turned on. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The Hummingbird Ranch is a magical place, a refuge, and delight. The artwork and colors alone are enough reason to come back. The Shady Rest was a cozy place to pop up a tent. We loved the calmness and quiet combining the outdoors with nice amenties like a shower, bathroom, and kitchen appliances.

Hummingbird Ranch is a special place that shows a lot of care by the owner, Karla. The site affords a beautiful view of the Whetstone Mountains and is convenient to the Huachuchas, the ghost town of Fairbanks, Sonoita, wine country, etc. - a great jumping off point for the area.

We had a group of 8 hiking friends who gathered at Karla's to camp for 2 nights. It was the perfect location for us, since one couple needed a room and they were able to stay in Karla's apartment, while the rest of us had camper vehicles. Karla has made her place very special with her artistic and gardening skills, and she had many unexpected amenities (campfires in the evening and warm cinnamon rolls in the morning). I loved the animals and the $10 fee to groom the baby burro was well worth the fun. Karla's ranch is in a great location for exploring the area, with the only downside being that it is on a busy highway that can get noisy at times. However, it didn't detract from our trip. We did a beautiful hike at Brown Canyon one day, and the next day we explored the ghost town of Fairbank with a beautiful walk along the San Pedro Conservation Area. Some of us took a cold dip in the pool following a rather warm hike. In the evening we had a wonderful wine tasting at Los Milics Vineyards on their patio at sunset and a dinner at the Copper Brothel in Sonoita, both close by. We highly recommend Karla's Humingbird Guest Ranch and hope to come back, again.

Our stay at Karla’s place was exceptional. We arrived just before sunset, and Karla was already waiting at the gate to welcome us and show us to our site. The spot was thoughtfully laid out and extremely well equipped. The 50-amp NEMA 14-50 hookup charged our Tesla without issue. The campsite layout is flexible and well designed, you can set up wherever you’re most comfortable and still have privacy and quiet. The property itself is more than a gem; it’s genuinely unique. We spent a good half hour exploring the artwork in the shared common space, which includes a kitchen area stocked with a microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, and an immaculately clean bathroom. Karla is clearly both a craftsman and an artist, and the care she’s put into the property shows everywhere. Nothing feels generic or rushed, every detail feels intentional and one of a kind. We also had the chance to meet her horses and donkey, all of whom were gentle, friendly, and a joy to be around. The sunset was spectacular, the campsite was peaceful, and we enjoyed dinner in her beautifully decorated outdoor cabana. Karla was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind throughout our stay. Everything was exactly as it should be. We can’t wait to return

We’ve been to Huachuca City several times on business and recently experienced another wonderful stay at Karla’s Hummingbird Ranch. While Karla offers beautiful campsites and RV rental spaces on her ranch, we prefer renting one of her lovely bedrooms in the ranch house. It’s quiet, peaceful and with full access to the kitchen and full bath. We simply love staying there with her and we will most certainly be going back.

Karla was super accommodating for my RV stay at her ranch. I'm relocating to the area and needed a place to stay for a few days until my new house closes. After several exhausting days preparing for my move and driving down here, the ranch has been the perfect place to get some much needed R&R. She didn't even mind my tortoise stretching his legs around the place! The pool, fire pit area, and other amenities are all well kept and proved a relaxing atmosphere. And yes. There are actual humming birds.😄

Oh my gosh, where can I even begin. Karla is such a sweetheart! I absolutely loved her place. We were a group of three that booked last minute for tent camping. She was there to greet us when we pulled in and gave us a quick tour. She has worked VERY hard to create a beautiful little ranch with her own hands. She is amazingly creative. Do check out the scrapbook she has made of what she has done over the few years she has owned the place. It is AMAZING. Extremely talented, hardworking, and creative. I cannot begin to fathom the amount of effort she has poured into her property. It really is mindblowing. The bathroom was spotless, the tent shelter was extremely sturdy and well built, the grounds meticulously maintained. Again, she has built and maintained all of this herself. Karla really spares absolutely NO effort or expense to make sure her campers are happy, safe, and comfortable. An absolutely wonderful lady with a calm, strong and sweet presence. Just a tremendous, tremendous amount of thought, care, and artistry throughout. Highly, highly highly recommend. Thank you for hosting the Three Amigos, Karla. I hope we see you again.

Karla and the Hummingbird Ranch were absolutely the best! Not only is her spot fantastic, she is an absolute gem of a human being! The access to a toilet was pivotal at this point in our trip. She also rents her shower out, which was a huge draw for me. We stayed in her hand built cabana which was wonderful to set my tent up in and also be able to cook and hang out in. She has done a lot of work on her property and it is absolutely gorgeous. My favorite part of the day was sitting down at dusk watching all of her solar lights turn on. I would absolutely stay here again if I was ever in the area.

Site 3-The Shady Rest for tents
This was my first time using HipCamp and boy, does Karla set the bar high. The property speaks for itself, attention to detail everywhere, very clean property and very well organized and thought out. Treated us with a community fire pit, got to make some new camp friends along the way. Restroom was super convenient and clean, the tent site allowed us to have a covered gazebo over us for added warmth and comfort. Overall a 5-star experience and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Oh, and Reba the donkey is super friendly and loves ear scritches in the morning 😁

Karla’s land was open, clean, and very easy to move around in. It really shows that she takes great care of her property, and the structures she has built are wonderfully creative! ( to call them sheds does not seem appropriate:-) Her property is gated, and I felt very comfortable and safe there.

Karla’s place is as good as it gets, very clean and the set up was great, easy access to camp spots with electric and water at a convenient location. The facilities were top notch, next to the bathroom there’s your own private room with everything you need for a great stay, amenities were the best, pool access, pool house with table and chairs and the decoration throughout were great. Karla is the best, she treated us like we were family. When we go her way again we will definitely use her Hipcamp!!

Fantastic surprise!

Site 3-The Shady Rest for tents
Karla place was a fantastic surprise. We stayed at site 3 "The shady rest" for 3 nights, placed our tent outside and turned the shelter into our kitchen / dining setup. Kara's space is a work of art, tranquility and relaxation. She is a lovley and attentive host, provided us with everything we needed.

Wow! This was a lovely location and Karla has gone above and beyond to make this place special for those who stay with her. She is quite an artist. We enjoyed the pool, and visiting the donkeys and we slept well as it was very quiet. We will be back and hope to make this an annual visit.

Our family loved our time here. Karla was very responsive, kind and we loved all the hard work she’s out into creating her oasis. We would stay here again. We had everything we could need to camp here.

Site 5- The Pool House
The property is chock full of Karlas creative eye and hand but especially the Pool House, from top to bottom, inside out! Kitchen and bathroom also fun and functional. What a joy to experience. Never bored. Thanks Karla for sharing your peace and quiet, rolling hills, and gentle tiki vibes.
