Chris's spot was peaceful, expansive, and private. He was very welcoming upon arrival and available for any questions. He has a paved flat space to camp, with access to a gazebo where you can watch the many species of birds feed and see the occasional javelina. Super convenient to outdoor activities as well as groceries etc. The sunsets were stunning.

We loved this site. Chris is very accommodating and it is a beautiful, quiet, and private site. So close to Saguaro NP also.

Perfect site for our trip. Chris was extremely responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. Our two dogs were welcome and had a good place to walk. So nice to visit Tucson and hear nature verses trains. The views of snow covered mountains were spectacular. We will come back for sure!

There is a single site on a concrete pad in the heart of the high desert. Abundant birds and even saw some Javelina. Our birdwatching platform was a covered gazebo that's lit at night. This combined with water and elec makes this a great spot. Will definitely seek it out again when passing through.

Sonoran Desert Experience
This was my second stay at Chris's place was once again wonderful. Chris is great - always quick to answer texts and friendly in-person, too. The pad itself is concrete and very level. It's wide enough to have some chairs and a table. You face the open desert, and the nearest house is about 1/8 mile away and barely visible. The overall feeling is secluded. The location is great. It's quiet with lots of wildlife (birds, coyotes, and javelinas) around. One day I witnessed a pack of 5 coyotes catch a rabbit right in front of my window. It would be wise to follow Chris's rules about keeping your dogs on a leash and keeping them in your sight. If you aren't from the area, you may not know about javelinas, but they do not like dogs - can't tell the difference between a dog and a coyote coming to eat one of their little ones. They will attack your dog, so again, be cautious. I stayed for three weeks with my dog and didn't have any problems, but I do check around at night before I take her out and keep her on a leash at all times. On the other hand, birds abound. I saw Abert's Towhees, Cactus Wrens, Black-throated Sparrows, Anna's hummingbirds, and more every day. You're within 2 miles or less of restaurants and shops. If you don't have a car, the road to the shops (Old Spanish Trail) has a walkable path and well-traveled bike lane. At night, the sky is dark as you're only about a mile from Saguaro NP which is a designated an AZ dark sky place.

A peaceful home away from home.
Wish we would have booked for longer. It was such a great private space surrounded by so much natural beauty. Tons of birds, coyote and Saguaro. We were able to let our doggie run a little supervised. We worked outside and got in a few good workouts on the nice, big pad. Chris had a ton of great suggestions for us for hikes and biking. We felt welcomed and like we had our own space but he was available for anything we needed. Thanks Chris enjoy all your epic adventures and we hope to see you again soon!
