Recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp is great for families and kids.
The Ranch offers peaceful and spacious campsites in Thornlands, just 40 minutes from Brisbane CBD and one hour to the Gold Coast and Surfers Paradise making it the perfect weekend getaway.  Thornlands, and The Redlands Coast is Spectacular. Enjoy living with the Wallabies, Echidna, Koalas, Goannas and Kookaburras, and listening to the sounds of the ‘Whip birds’.  Or cycle to the beach, or catch the ferry across to incredible Stradbroke Island and walk the Gorge!! There is a tidal creek and billabong on our property so put your crab pots in, and fish from the bank or just relax by the waters edge watching the tide come and go. There are three designated areas at the campsites where you can enjoy a fire. Please use only the spaces provided and bring your own firewood. You are welcome to use fallen timber for kindling. Make sure you search for the walking tracks. It’s so beautiful and quiet here, yet you’re only a 3 minute drive to Maccas etc We are within easy reach of plenty of great beaches, cafes and shops so you will have everything within easy reach to have a great time away. Come and have a wonderful, private and peaceful stay with us. You deserve a rest/treat/adventure We require our visitors to be self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Pets are welcome but please be aware the property is not fenced. Keep pets under your control at all times. Prior to arrival please text ETA. You will be met at the gate and helped down to the sites. If it’s wet it’s no fun at all and it brings the mozzies out. Don’t book if the forecast is bad. As we only have three sites, there are no cancellations once booked. Part of the track down to the sites has a steep 10m decline. If it’s wet, two wheel drives may not make it. Please check with us if you're unsure. If you get stuck of course we can help you. Prior to driving any vehicles down the track it is important you walk it first. Once you have done this you can make your own decision whether to proceed. Just be sensible but light a great fire and have fun!! Any questions call or message me. Thank you 😊

Peter's Ranch was a great little spot felt you were miles from nowhere but only 5 mins to shops, seen heaps of fish at high tide, we will definitely be going back again,

Peter’s camp site is awesome. Lovely quiet little spot that’s easily accessible with an awesome host. It’s super close to the shops and beach, which made it even better. Loved every bit of it

I took my 2 daughters for a one night stay and we loved it. Such a rate spot, you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere but it's only a short trip back to civilisation. We stayed in swags and had a nice fire and it just felt like we were in paradise. We will be back for sure.

Kookaburras are cheeky
This is our 2nd time staying here we absolutely love it, everytime we have stayed we have had the entire property to ourselves, we actually caught a handful of fresh prawns in the tidal creek , but watch out for the friendly kookaburras haha they will try pinch the prawns while your casting, we had such a great experience hand feeding the kookaburras they would literally fly up and take a prawn from your hands .. ( bring some mosquito spray they tend to bite my husband .. ) thanks for sharing your property with us Peter .

Great spot , Peter was a great host !! What a hidden gem 💎 it ended up raining so unfortunately we didn't get a chance to take full advantage of having a go at a bit of a fish, We would love to stay again
