1. We are not permitting people to set up in the dark, it is totally black, no lighting in wilderness zone and far too difficult to locate your site, and it disturbs other campers.

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE
PHONES: Phone reception is good, there is a Telstra exchange on the property.
ROADS: Roads around the sites are unsealed, but most normal cars and the average SUV handle it okay. The road down into the Megalong Valley is tar sealed, very scenic but winding.
ICE: Bring your own ice
WOOD: Timber for fires can be purchased at reception. We are an environmental biodiversity precinct so don’t permit damage to vegetation.
FIRES: Plenty of existing fire spots
SHOPS: The township of Blackheath is 15klm away up on the Gt Western Hwy, none in the Valley
SHADE: Plenty of shady areas
WATER: We are on town water
TOILETS there are 3 men's and 3 women's, plus 8 at reception, plus 3 in pioneer and 3 in corner paddock
SHOWERS: 3 gas hot water showers in men's, 3 in women's, plus 2 in Lodge
NOISE: Shutdown time for music is 10pm - no exceptions! but you can still enjoy the fires - quietly.

BIKE and WALKING TRACKS: Plenty of bush tracks, plus walks up at Porters Pass and Blackheath
Dont forget to bring along some bread to feed the horses and donkeys - they love it

It is difficult to find a wilderness campsite in the dark and disturbs other campers.
We are requiring ALL vehicles to get registered PRIOR to going up to the site, resulting from so many vehicles trespassing at the venue and causing nuisances for other campers
Please indicate the details of cars such as make, model , colour and rego number prior to arrival.
We must also remind campers that this is not a venue for noisy partying as we are a quiet wilderness environmental zone. We do not tolerate it and will remove offenders. Other campers treasure the peace and quiet.

On arrival you get to choose your own unpowered spot. You then set up camp. The caretaker will check you in at the spot you have chosen towards the end of the day.
Misty Mountain Campgrounds is suitable for tent campers, caravans, camper trailers and motorhomes..
PLEASE NOTE - Children aged between 3 and 15 are booked under Child Rates, Children 2 and under are Free and do not have to be booked in.

5km from the beautiful village of Uki. Uki is a place where community spirit hums. Village markets every Saturday selling local foods and crafts. The Old buttery offers ‘the Uki Buttery Bazaar Market’ on the 3rd Sunday of every month.
Don’t forget to pop into the Uki Trading Post (Bastion Lane) for the Best coffee in Australia. The Mt Warning Hotel situated in Uki Village also offers all meals as takeaways and a complementary curtesy bus running from Friday 5PM through to Sunday. Stock up on supplies at the village General Store.
Pet welcome on leash and under control. Campfires are permitted within local regulations.
We do have a bathtub’s on four sites. Campers should leave no trace.

Canoelands Orchard Camping and Fruit Picking, is located just 1 hour from Sydney's CBD. The property is 81 acres in total with a small shop and cafe onsite. We offer pick your own fruit so are open to the public daily (closed on occasion). Trading hours can be viewed at www.bookingscanoeladns.com. We are surrounded by the stunning valley views of Marra Marra National Park. Guests can enjoy hiking, wandering the orchard picking fresh produce, taking a tractor ride, feeding the animals and relaxing. Please note we are a working farm so sometimes tractors and vehicles can be heard working from 7am. There will be foot traffic and possibly tractor rides operating near some of the sites although we will do our best to respect your privacy while you are here. We also have a quarry surrounding most of the property, so they sometimes operate machinery early. This is not generally too disruptive though. We are just 15 minutes' drive from the beautiful historical Wiseman's Ferry and the Hawkesbury River. There are multiple hiking tracks located close by. We have several sites to offer around the property. We have a beautiful huge dam just 350m down the gully. It’s super peaceful although a steep walk down the driveway to access, it's definitely worth it, so pack your walking shoes and some swimmers.

Each camping site is by the river, prime position for fishing, canoeing, and swimming. Based on availability, you are welcome to choose your spot on arrival. All options are grassed and level.
You will have access to pit toilets (3) otherwise, please BYO facilities. Small campfires are welcome in the fire pits provided, or BYO firepit (permitting there are no restrictions in place at the time). Firewood can be purchased at the time of booking.
We’re pet-friendly! Please note, however, that we are a working farm with ongoing activities and resident animals, including livestock and farm dogs, so all pets must be kept under control at all times. Aggressive, disruptive, or potentially dangerous dogs of any type are not allowed — especially restricted breeds (e.g. Pit Bulls, Bull Mastiffs). Only friendly dogs are permitted, and we reserve the right to ask you to leave if your dog is deemed unsafe or aggressive upon arrival. If you have any doubts, please message us prior to booking.
Also, please ensure kids are supervised at all times, particularly around the river. Lifejackets are recommended.
During your time here, visit the local farm gates in Tumut, Batlow, Tumbarumba, and Adelong for their delicious high-country produce. There are also some beautiful swimming spots and walks to discover in the region, as well as good facilities in town, including the local swimming pool and shopping centre. Enjoy a local brew and bite to eat at the Tumut brewery. Bahwidgee is just 3km from the Tumut town centre - so close you could ride in, or even walk.

CHILDREN are to be accompanied by an adult at all times if walking around the property.

To maintain the family-friendly atmosphere, we kindly request campers to adhere to our quiet hours starting at 9 PM. We discourage those not oriented towards family activities and serene evenings, ensuring everyone can enjoy the tranquility of the natural surroundings.

With over 600 meters of riverside campsites spread across 50 acres of lush bushland, you'll find the perfect spot to set up your tent or park your camper. Each site provides a secluded and tranquil escape, allowing you to immerse yourself in nature while still enjoying the comforts of a well-maintained camping area.

Nature enthusiasts will delight in the variety of activities available. Embark on a bushwalk, discovering the flora and fauna that call the Grose Valley home. Mountain biking enthusiasts can navigate our trails, exploring the landscape on two wheels. There's always an adventure waiting just beyond your campsite.
Campfires and Seasonal Delights:
As the sun sets, gather around a crackling campfire with family and friends. We provide plenty of firewood to keep the flames dancing, creating the perfect atmosphere for storytelling and bonding. And when the season is right, don't forget to grab some homegrown avocados or contribute a small donation for kayak hire—all proceeds go to Beyond Blue, supporting mental health initiatives.

Welcome to SLEEPY HOLLOW MANOR ESTATE, A family farm Acting under the state government agricultural tourism reform allowing primary producers and livestock farms such as us on RU2 property to have visitors.
As part of this we have to follow some simple protocol! Unfortunately, we have had some issues with local council, we ask that you follow these simple rules extremely closely failure to do may cause us to reject your booking and may incur penalties to both of us as the landholders and also the camper.
1. STRICTLY No Caravans, RV's, Tents or Any Camping site is to be set up within 50 meters of the creek.
2. No more that 20 people camping on the property at one time.
3. Zero impact to the land and surrounds treat it like you would a national park.
4. All waste must be bagged and taken off site with you. The rubbish bins in the street are not ours. They belong to the people that live in the valley. All rubbish must be taken home with you!

Such a beautiful spot and an amazing view. Damien was so welcoming. We booked a site that wasn’t appropriate for our camper. No problem they just offered us an appropriate site. We will definitely be back. Sunrise was incredible 10/10.

Very easy process to book and access. The site is lovely, you can hear the creek bubbling in the background and it’s very relaxing. Has fire pits for a fire and toilets and is close to town for supplies. Great spot to see the stars on a clear night.

Rowland's Creek provides camping by the creek on flat sites, each with a fire pit and access to toilets. It would be great for families and those with pets. We had a relaxing stay.

Camp 3 was a beautiful spot for my family of 6. The compost toilet and gas hot shower were so handy we didn’t need to visit the central amenities. Nice property to explore and the Misty cafe was great. Amazing coffee and yummy hot chips! Jules was very welcoming and full of great knowledge!

We had such a lovely stay at Watton Airstrip over the weekend. The campsite was peaceful, spacious and well looked after, with plenty of room for the kids to explore and enjoy nature. One of our favourite parts was falling asleep to the relaxing sound of the river at night and waking up surrounded by beautiful scenery. Atlas absolutely loved seeing the horses and alpacas around the property too. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, and the location was perfect for a relaxing family getaway. Would definitely stay again!

Car camped at Megalong for 1 night. Beautiful expansive site overlooked by the mountains, plenty of room for everyone to have privacy, informative welcoming check in, clean facilities and hot shower with good water pressure, animals around site are lovely and also spotted kangaroos in the early morning. Town of Blackheath very close with shops, cafes and local hikes., Would definitely visit again.

I took my two young boys 4 & 2 out there for a night camping. It was such a perfect camp spot we stayed in section 10. I couldn’t have asked for a better location. The animal feeding along with the tractor ride was a huge hit.

We had a great time at Misty mountain camping ground. It was low season, so we had the camp 1 just for our group.
The amenities were clean, with flush toilets and good hot water pressure in the showers.
We went for walks and kayaking. It was great.
