I had the best time camping here, I was on a solo hiking trip to the mountains from Sydney, I felt safe the entire time during my stay and was left alone. The land is just unbelievably beautiful and the farm animals free roaming really made my stay, they are very cute and friendly. There was already fire pits setup, all you had to do on arrival was choose a spot and set up camp. The showers were closed but luckily I came prepared and wasn’t bothered by that, bathroom was clean and had toilet paper. I will definitely stay here again solo or with family and friends. Thanks again Rosemary for sharing your little treasure with us ✨

2 nights at Glenroy Cottages and Camping

We really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the camp (some vehicle noise, mostly drowned out by the flowing river). Rosemary greeted us and made sure we were settled in. Clean, well kept grassed area made for comfortable camping. Being a quick 2.5hr drive from home, we will be back.

Weekend Trip to Binghi Station

We spent the long weekend at Binghi Station, and it was the perfect spot for our first camping trip with both kids—4 and 1.5 years old. The experience was relaxed and family-friendly, perfect balance of comfort, nature, and adventure. We camped at the shearing shed site, where you’re free to choose your spot. It’s slightly sloped but overlooks the mountain ranges at sunset—absolutely breathtaking, the picture do not do it justice. Levelling the camper trailer was no issue. Even though the campground was nearly fully booked, it felt peaceful and private. Adrian keeps the atmosphere relaxed, with generous spacing between sites. The property’s natural features are stunning. The granite rock walls around the gorge are as impressive as those at the National Park. The sandy gorge, rock pools, and waterfall are close to camp and easy for toddlers to explore—perfect for picnics, adventures, or a refreshing swim in warmer months. Our kids loved feeding goats, pigs, and peacocks, spotting kangaroos and wallabies, and cuddling a friendly sheep that wandered through camp. Adrian’s wife offers homemade Thai meals delivered to your site, and you can even have a pig prepped for campfire cooking. Fires are allowed, with firewood available for purchase if you can’t be bothered collecting and bins provided. Clean amenities and spectacular scenery made this a trip to remember. We can’t wait to come back in summer to dip in the water!

Wow! Beautiful part of the world with an incredibly welcoming host in Adrian and the twins. Don’t underestimate the 4WD track in, we did it with full tyres but for a comfier ride next time will drop pressure a bit. Must come back in Summer! Incredible gorges, love the old tin mine and great for family. Long drops beautiful and clean, well set up! Thank you Adrian, see you next time!

Absolutely loved staying at Binghi Station! We stayed at the Jump'n Rock and had the entire campsite to ourselves. We had our own private Gorge and it was an experience like no other. My little Kelpie loved diving into the Gorge and had the best time ever. This is hands down my favourite campsite I've ever stayed (and I have done the lap of Aus)! I did find the tracks fairly challenging to get down in the Jimny, but going up was way easier. I wish I knew just how challenging the tracks were before we got there, but it would be way easier if you are in a bigger/ higher vehicle. The hosts were so lovely and got around on a little quad bike. The main swimming gorge is really beautiful and I love how you can follow the tracks and find your own little beach for different sections of the Gorge! You must add this to your bucket list!

Beautiful surroundings. The river was great for kyaking and fishing. The toilet was so clean. It was so good to let my dog loose to chase balls. James was really interesting to talk to. I learnt a lot about cows and pigs and life on the land.

This place was so beautiful and magical. So easy to navigate as well. Loved that we could choose our own sites and that there is so many to choose from. Even though it was raining most of the time, it was still an amazing experience. 100% coming back!

Weekend Trip to Eagle Ridge Bush Retreat

This place is amazing and we will definitely be back. My parter and I booked two nights with our dog. We were in the Cove which was completely private, trees on 3 sides and the river on the other. The wood fire tub was the cherry on top. 4WD recommended to get in out, however we saw other people there with SUVs do fine. Definitely worth the trip from Brisbane, can’t wait to come back!

The views are awesome with plenty of space for each site, complete with a firepit. Portaloos are kept stocked and when the camp was busy extra loos were put on site. The river is right there for a swim and only 10 mins into Murwillumbah for whatever you need. James is a dedicated host who ensures campers are met on arrival and he has some good yarns to share as well. You can hear the cows mooing and watch them graze as you go about your day. On a clear night the star light show is fantastic. A relaxed vibe with families on weekends as well as younger people enjoying their friends. Bring your own water for drinking and cleaning,. There is an outdoor cold river water shower only. No camp kitchen or power so be prepared as stated in the camp details. Vodafone reception is on and off if you have that provider. 15 mins to Tyalgum to explore that little town too. All in all a perfectly located camp site offering the basics for a real camp experience.

Absolutely beautiful place to camp. We camped at waterfall cascades and it was stunning with the waterfall as the backdrop. Keith and Zandra were friendly and accommodating. The camp sites are extremely well maintained and the hot showers and toilets were a great bonus. Definitely recommend camping here and we look forward to returning in the future.

Beautiful waterfalls are less than a half hour drive away. There are local businesses who can help you pursue these kinds of activities if you don't bring your own equipment.

Nestled under the Watagan mountains escarpment in the Hunter valley, the property has some amazing views in all directions, but still remains secluded and hidden from view. The property has been selectively cleared to maintain a balance of open land and untouched bushland which has a boundary to the Watagans National Park. The animal life is very diverse as many species transition from the Watagans into the property and many live on site full time. These include flocks of amazing bird species such as Gang gang and Black Cockatoos, resident Wedge tailed eagles, Kookaburras, finches, honey eaters, Coucals, Lyrebirds and more. Wallabies of various types are common, and Sugar gliders can be seen on the flowering Eucalypts. The camping areas for RV's sit on a large elevated flat area that border a large gorge with broken views towards the Hunter Valley vineyards. The Gorge (or Canyon) is rimmed by caves and has rainforest type trees in the bottom. The caves can be explored and the rainforest can be walked if you are fit! The tent and camper trailer areas are terraced into an area of slight slope with a number of sites to chose from. Non potable water taps are available at each caravan site and at intervals in the camping area. This water is clear fresh dam or bore water and can be used for showers, washing up etc. Two flush toilets are available for use by both RV's and campers. There is a central fire pit. We have a private site which has open views over the Hunter Valley to the Vineyards and beyond to the Barrington tops. This site has a cliff edge pool that comfortably fits up to 4 people for a dip. This area has a large fire pit that can be used to heat the pool in winter. This site has its own flushing toilet and Shower. This site is best suited to a caravan as it is terraced, though it would be possible to setup tents or a camper van in this location also. This can also be booked as a group site. 16minutes to Cessnock, 25minutes to the M1, 2.25 hours to Sydney central and 25 minutes to Pokolbin. The location is generally very peaceful with all sorts of wildlife. There is plenty of ground sticks for fire wood and bulk timber for purchase. There are 2 dams that can be fished on request (catch and release cod and bass)

Welcome to Aloomba Lavender Farm. We offer bush camping with powered and unpowered sites. This means you will not be placed very close to other vans unless you are friends and choose to be together. In many cases you will be able to choose where you wish to park. Not all sites are level, but you are able to site your camp/ van as you wish. There are no cement pads. There is access to toilets and hot showers. You may have to walk some distance to the amenities but the solitude, the quiet, safety and stars make all worthwhile. There is a dedicated firepit and firewood is supplied. We can supply no water other than sufficient to cook dinner. You are welcome to use some of the vegetables and herbs but not to strip the vegetable garden! If in doubt - ask. We have great coffee and Devonshire teas but we are not a cafe. However there is a great little lavender shop where you can buy our own lavender essential oil, or a cake of soap or a Baggallini Handbag. We are dog friendly! We welcome well behaved dogs. We are 20 km from Stanthorpe. You may see wildlife or cattle through the fence and an occasional vehicle going down the road. We have a sealed road all the way to our boundary and then drive through the lavender. If you visit in late November through to early December you will enjoy our lavender flowering, but the plants look very pretty all year around in neat rows. We are a commercial farm so there is the need to work to the rhythm of the lavender.

"Mindoo"

Framed by the rugged border range National Parks "Mindoo" is 1100 acres of rolling green hills dissected by the pure, cascading, waters of the Cataract River which provide a number of private riverside campsites. Campers are encouraged to meander along the continually changing River and explore its many secluded swimming holes and enjoy the abundant wildlife that cohabitates with the Angus/Wagyu cow herd. Direct access to the neighbouring National Parks and State Forests offers an array of day trips to hikers, mountain bikers, or horse riders where they can discover the natural treasures of Basket Swamp and Boonoo Boonoo Falls, Woolool Woolooni, among others. For those who require a little more comfort, and lets face it we all do at times, the Mindoo Cabin is available. Featuring three bedrooms, open plan living/dining/kitchen,and a shady deck overlooking the River the cabin sleeps eight and still allows visitors to partake in all the adventures that "Mindoo" offers with the benefit of a comfortable rest when the day is done. Unfortunately horse riding is no longer covered by our insurance policy. You are able to bring your horses, however evidence of your own insurance policy must be provided. Be as adventurous or as restful as you please as both options are freely available. Mountain Biking, Hiking, or just riding your hammock and relaxing we are sure you will enjoy your time at "Mindoo". All of our river sites are designated and are space apart. There is approximately 4km gravel road to get to the property. Mobile reception is patchy (telstra) you may need to get to the top of a hill for reception. Very little or no reception for other networks. As most of our sites are on the river and have farm tracks to access, if it is wet we may have to move you to a different site. 4wds are recommended for all sites.
