With the main house built in 1860 this property has seen many uses such as a farm, retail Christmas store, church, rental cabins, and a gravel quarry among other things. I now try to keep the back acreage by the brook and pond as natural as possible for habitat, as well as you the campers! Learn more about this land: I have 3 well spaced out RV sites on the property. They fit different sized rigs so please read the descriptions. Pets are welcome at the sites, but please have them remain leashed or under your effective verbal control. Most will have cell service at the sites or there is a free public Wi-Fi in Wilmington center. Private yet convenient to Downtown Wilmington, VT. Located between the Harriman reservoir and Lake Raponda, both great for boating, fishing and swimming. As well as the Deerfield River across the street, which runs through town. There is a public hiking trail that goes through the property. It goes from the Fairview ave. boat launch in Wilmington, all the way up to West Dover. You can access this at the back of the site. The sites are only a minutes drive from downtown Wilmington, or you can hike/bike there on the trail (approx 15 min). In Wilmington there is plenty of shopping, gifts, coffee, restaurants, gas, liquor store. I also have dry, split firewood available for $10 on site. Please don't bring your own unless it is prepackaged from shaws or bought from one of the local sellers right around me. Transportation of out of state firewood can bring invasive beetles to our forests...

Sunrise Farm Sites 1 and 2 have oodles of space and Spectacular 50 mile views of Mount Monadnock with no house lights out there in the evening except the party string lights we provide. Site 1 (with entrance 70 yards south of the farmhouse) is best for camping in with up to 20 foot trailers or multiple tents …on the large flat spaces in the 25 acre field to choose from. Great Well water available near farmhouse. Biodegradable soaps Only if used in the ponds. Double Olympic sized Swim Pond we stock with Rainbow Trout to keep clear. We have been advised Not to allow imported firewood (can import Wood Beetle dangerous for our forest). - PLEASE use the Firewood bundle tubs we provide ($12.50) - pick up at the farmhouse or pull wood from the woods (and make it safer for use). Beautiful and plenty of wildlife nearby... as well as Outhouses are marked on Map we provide with solar lights marking them at night. Do Not Leave food out when camping or away from site. It's lambing time!!! This is the best time of year to visit us, as maximum cuteness is running around just a short walk across the suspension bridge from where you will be staying! We currently have 11 newborn lambs all less than two weeks old (two new arrivals today!) and two ewes are still waiting to deliver. Who knows...maybe they will wait til you get here! Our farm was named after the summer home of Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg. Trollhaugen Farm means Troll hill, but the only real trolls around these parts are the sheep. Our farm has sheep, pigs, chickens and ducks that you are welcome to visit. The yurt sits under the trees next to a babbling brook. A suspension bridge connects you to the farm area. The yurt is private and has a fire pit right out back where you can grill or just sit and enjoy the fire. The colorful yurt offers a comfy four poster bed, a small kitchen area and a bathroom with shower and composting toilet. This is a great place for children, bikers, swimmers, hikers or anyone who just wants to get away from it all for a few days. There are many lovely hikes, one of which takes you to a pond you can swim in. You can also hike up in the woods behind the yurt. Newfane village is one of the most picturesque villages in Vermont, with a courthouse on the green. There are two restaurants in Newfane, two coffee shops, a flea market on Sundays, and a great antique store. We are close to Brattleboro, home to one of the best coops in the northeast, as well as many fun stores and an art museum. Please come visit us!

My home is the original Diers Homestead, established in 1940. It was named The Chicken Ranch in the 1960’s. There aren’t any chickens, but there are many forest creatures that wander out of the Green Mountain National Forest & into the meadow. You may see foxes, deer, moose, large marmots, and lots of different birds including wild turkeys & great blue herons. Apple trees of many varieties are scattered around. Come eat freely when they fruit! You’ll be camping on a hill with a fire ring nearby. The beautiful sunrises and sunsets are both visible as the meadow is open to the south, east & west. This is a special place in a perfect location. If you like to explore by foot, there’s a network of private hiking trails and a river to cool off in, both within 1/4 mile from your campsite. Also easily within walking distance is the village of Rawsonville: Ungrounded Coffee, Meulemans' Craft Draughts, Honeypie, Family Kitchen and Pizzeria, Mountain Riders, Equipe Sport & the Rawsonville Marketplace where you can get basic supplies and fuel. Speaking of fuel, if you really want to roll your wheels… Stratton Village is 8 minutes by car. Take a gondola ride to the top and check out the fire tower where you can see the entire lower half of Vermont state on a clear day. The village centers of Jamaica, Londonderry and Peru are also very close by and boast great food and crafts. And there’s always Manchester, if you’re seeking lots of shopping and fine dining. Horseback riding is a 15 minute drive from the campsite at Horses For Hire in Peru. This is a truly authentic experience. Trail rides for all abilities- even the “pony ride” for the little kids is a trail through the woods. Not to be missed! Also in Peru is Bromley Mountain which, during the summer months, becomes The Thrill Zone featuring a giant alpine slide. At Bee Well Homestead in Jamaica, there is authentic BBQ, live music and yoga every Sunday morning. The New American Grill in Londonderry has a wide selection of delicious food and their open mic night on Thursdays feature very talented local musicians. Even though it’s so close to all these uniquely wonderful people and their businesses, it is really just off a little country road - the best of both worlds!

Welcome to our quiet 262-acre farmstead! We offer an immersive rural Green Mountain experience, yet only 25 minutes from the lively, artsy towns of Brattleboro and Wilmington. Enjoy a private campsite nestled next to a tranquil pond. Soar over our gardens on epic tree swings. Hidden trails bring you through dense forests, past ancient hemlock trees to secluded swimming holes. Ancient stone structures and newer stacked boulders and flower gardens add to the natural beauty all around you. We have one friendly off-leash dog, Oliver, an Lavender, that roam freely and may want to make friends with you. (And if you ignore them, they will leave you alone). We have laying hens, goats, and piglets that you are welcome to visit! We love animals -- as you can tell -- but are unable to host campers with dogs. While cozing up to a campfire, you might hear the calls of birds of the deep forest like the hermit thrush and the barred owl, or the call of coyotes on the far ridge. We are surrounded by hundreds of acres of unbroken forest that offer habitat to moose, bear, and deer, and numerous other wildlife. (Don't worry -- these animals are very shy and likely to run in the other direction if they see you.) Pitch your tent on Thistledew campsite and enjoy a cedar tent platform, fire ring, rustic picnic table, and direct access to the beautiful forest and miles of walking trails. The campsite is a gentle 25-foot walk from the parking spot. Quill Nook Farm is 25 minutes from artsy, outdoorsy Brattleboro, VT and I-91, and 25 minutes from the quaint village of Wilmington, with restaurants, breweries, and shopping. Mount Snow is 40 minutes away via Routes 9 and 100, and we’re only 45 minutes from the Mass MoCA art museum in North Adams, Mass. The Harriman Reservoir is located 20 minutes away and provides a variety of spaces for boats, kayakers, swimmers, picnic areas with grills and more! Do you want an “off the beaten path” hike or swimming hole with rocks for sunbathing? We can direct you to several secluded spots on our property or within 15 minutes. The Green River covered bridge and log dam is 10 minutes down the road, and you can sample from several farmsteads and art galleries in the area. Interested in homesteading or farming? It's lambing time!!! This is the best time of year to visit us, as maximum cuteness is running around just a short walk across the suspension bridge from where you will be staying! We currently have 11 newborn lambs all less than two weeks old (two new arrivals today!) and two ewes are still waiting to deliver. Who knows...maybe they will wait til you get here! Our farm was named after the summer home of Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg. Trollhaugen Farm means Troll hill, but the only real trolls around these parts are the sheep. Our farm has sheep, pigs, chickens and ducks that you are welcome to visit. The yurt sits under the trees next to a babbling brook. A suspension bridge connects you to the farm area. The yurt is private and has a fire pit right out back where you can grill or just sit and enjoy the fire. The colorful yurt offers a comfy four poster bed, a small kitchen area and a bathroom with shower and composting toilet. This is a great place for children, bikers, swimmers, hikers or anyone who just wants to get away from it all for a few days. There are many lovely hikes, one of which takes you to a pond you can swim in. You can also hike up in the woods behind the yurt. Newfane village is one of the most picturesque villages in Vermont, with a courthouse on the green. There are two restaurants in Newfane, two coffee shops, a flea market on Sundays, and a great antique store. We are close to Brattleboro, home to one of the best coops in the northeast, as well as many fun stores and an art museum. Please come visit us!

My home is the original Diers Homestead, established in 1940. It was named The Chicken Ranch in the 1960’s. There aren’t any chickens, but there are many forest creatures that wander out of the Green Mountain National Forest & into the meadow. You may see foxes, deer, moose, large marmots, and lots of different birds including wild turkeys & great blue herons. Apple trees of many varieties are scattered around. Come eat freely when they fruit! You’ll be camping on a hill with a fire ring nearby. The beautiful sunrises and sunsets are both visible as the meadow is open to the south, east & west. This is a special place in a perfect location. If you like to explore by foot, there’s a network of private hiking trails and a river to cool off in, both within 1/4 mile from your campsite. Also easily within walking distance is the village of Rawsonville: Ungrounded Coffee, Meulemans' Craft Draughts, Honeypie, Family Kitchen and Pizzeria, Mountain Riders, Equipe Sport & the Rawsonville Marketplace where you can get basic supplies and fuel. Speaking of fuel, if you really want to roll your wheels… Stratton Village is 8 minutes by car. Take a gondola ride to the top and check out the fire tower where you can see the entire lower half of Vermont state on a clear day. The village centers of Jamaica, Londonderry and Peru are also very close by and boast great food and crafts. And there’s always Manchester, if you’re seeking lots of shopping and fine dining. Horseback riding is a 15 minute drive from the campsite at Horses For Hire in Peru. This is a truly authentic experience. Trail rides for all abilities- even the “pony ride” for the little kids is a trail through the woods. Not to be missed! Also in Peru is Bromley Mountain which, during the summer months, becomes The Thrill Zone featuring a giant alpine slide. At Bee Well Homestead in Jamaica, there is authentic BBQ, live music and yoga every Sunday morning. The New American Grill in Londonderry has a wide selection of delicious food and their open mic night on Thursdays feature very talented local musicians. Even though it’s so close to all these uniquely wonderful people and their businesses, it is really just off a little country road - the best of both worlds!

I visited Riverhaven in late October for a solo reading retreat, and the environment was exactly what I was looking for when I envisioned a peaceful, secluded place to read. The fall colors were beautiful, the rain and the running water added to the ambience, and everything necessary was provided to make my stay stress free and comfortable. Renel was very communicative leading up to my stay, which was very helpful with my trip planning. I would recommend Riverhaven to anyone and will stay again if I ever find myself back in Vermont.

With the main house built in 1860 this property has seen many uses such as a farm, retail Christmas store, church, rental cabins, and a gravel quarry among other things. I now try to keep the back acreage by the brook and pond as natural as possible for habitat, as well as you the campers! Learn more about this land: I have 3 well spaced out RV sites on the property. They fit different sized rigs so please read the descriptions. Pets are welcome at the sites, but please have them remain leashed or under your effective verbal control. Most will have cell service at the sites or there is a free public Wi-Fi in Wilmington center. Private yet convenient to Downtown Wilmington, VT. Located between the Harriman reservoir and Lake Raponda, both great for boating, fishing and swimming. As well as the Deerfield River across the street, which runs through town. There is a public hiking trail that goes through the property. It goes from the Fairview ave. boat launch in Wilmington, all the way up to West Dover. You can access this at the back of the site. The sites are only a minutes drive from downtown Wilmington, or you can hike/bike there on the trail (approx 15 min). In Wilmington there is plenty of shopping, gifts, coffee, restaurants, gas, liquor store. I also have dry, split firewood available for $10 on site. Please don't bring your own unless it is prepackaged from shaws or bought from one of the local sellers right around me. Transportation of out of state firewood can bring invasive beetles to our forests...

Very quiet with great swimming and lots of hikes right from your sites. 2 of the Brookside Sites (Wishbone Left and Right) are close by (2.7 miles) where we have another 1/2 mile of river frontage and can handle bigger groups as Conservation land on Sunrise Farm only allows 4 campers per site. Sunrise Farm Sites 1 and 2 have oodles of space and Spectacular 50 mile views of Mount Monadnock with no house lights out there in the evening except the party string lights we provide. Site 1 (with entrance 70 yards south of the farmhouse) is best for camping in with up to 20 foot trailers or multiple tents …on the large flat spaces in the 25 acre field to choose from. Great Well water available near farmhouse. Biodegradable soaps Only if used in the ponds. Double Olympic sized Swim Pond we stock with Rainbow Trout to keep clear. We have been advised Not to allow imported firewood (can import Wood Beetle dangerous for our forest). - PLEASE use the Firewood bundle tubs we provide ($12.50) - pick up at the farmhouse or pull wood from the woods (and make it safer for use). Beautiful and plenty of wildlife nearby... as well as Outhouses are marked on Map we provide with solar lights marking them at night. Do Not Leave food out when camping or away from site. Bears are rarely seen but it is wild country. Sites have locking garbage lids. Unique and lovely as well as being next to trails and roads to miles of remote spots with very few if any ... people. In Winter we request only AWD vehicles go down to this site or park up by farmhouse and hike in so you can easily get out. When wet park up by the road if you have 2 wheel drive. Black flies are really bad in early June, and then the mosquitoes come in July. I suggest renting a cabin, spending lots of time in the water, and keeping the fires burning!
