This was one of our favorite hip camp locations we visited. When they said private, they meant it! It's less than a minute walk from the parking area and has everything you could ever need; charging stations, picnic table, fire pit, recommendations, heat, you name it! Our favorite was the cute little basketball hoop because we are children at heart. Michael was also an incredible host who communicated with us well and left clear, easy to follow instructions. You have the option to purchase firewood from him or you can go into town and get some from local stores. It is also nearby many trails, beautiful scenery, coffee shops, and of course the beautiful North Adams. If you're looking for a truly private serene getaway, this is the spot for you.

Comfy and clean and the A frame cabin was delightful - secluded but easy to get to, and close to some great trails in the State Forest. We stayed here to be close to MassMoCA for a show, and it was very convenient to North Adams with all the city has to offer. Michael was very helpful host. We absolutely will be back!

We loved camping here! Perfectly secluded but not too far of a walk from the road. The bed is very comfortable and Michael even provides the necessities such as trash bags, toilet paper, wipes, even a blue tooth speaker! I would definitely stay here again, thank you for having us!

It was really easy to reach yet it felt so remote, so pristine. The fire pit was the kid’s favorite and is both good to warm up and for some cooking altough there’s a gas stove as well. All in all a wonderful place in the woods.

Michael’s place was incredible! Was there for a week! So secluded from people, but only two minutes walking distance so it didn’t feel too secluded! The electric batteries were a nice edition and the outdoor space was set up beautifully with lights and picnic tables and chairs for hanging out. Thank you!

We had a fantastic stay at the Berkshire Beech House! It is truly the perfect balance of feeling like you are out in the woods, without being too far away from civilization/ great activities. The A-frame is cozy and the beds are very comfortable. This is definitely a step up from tent camping! We appreciated having access to a picnic table, chairs, camp stove, fire pit, and hammock for some additional comforts and conveniences. There is enough electricity to power lights and to charge devices— this was also nice. Overall I would absolutely recommend staying at this camp. My husband and I are already talking about returning in the future, we enjoyed it so much.

Michael has a great campsite setup although I would recommend hanging a tarp over the picnic table in case of rain. The campsite feels secluded but too far from civilization. There are some great hikes and water holes in the area so bring a bathing suit then come back to dinner by the bonfire. Overall it was great time and would comeback again !

The Beech House was such an amazing place of tranquility and peace. It was the perfect getaway to be essentially off-grid, but without feeling far from essentials if/when needed.
The lush forest surrounding the cabin provided a plethora of flora and faun - I loved falling asleep to nothing but crickets or the patter of raindrops, and waking to birdsong and sunlight trickling into the room. And the surrounding areas were readily accessible, and equally as scenic and picturesque.
The heater worked great on a chilly night, or after a cold shower haha. It kept me nice and warm when I needed it. The river downhill was a nice place to dip my toes in on a hot sunny day, too.
Michael was an exceptional host; he provided useful information and answers to any questions I had, both before and during my trip. Communication was simple, easy, and very responsive, which I really appreciated.
10/10 would recommend. Definitely a place I want to revisit!

This place is a must stay! Gorgeous area with just the right amount of seclusion. We were only about 20 minutes from good food and Mass Moca while also having a wonderful time away in the forest. The A frame was cozy and filled with many extra amenities. I will be recommending this campsite to many many people.

A beautiful spot to go camping when you feel like having a solid roof over your head and a real bed! Speaking of beds, the one in the A frame was extremely comfortable, honestly one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept on on a trip. If you’re just beginning to explore camping and haven’t quite acquired all of the tools you’ll need, or if you just don’t feel like bringing all of that stuff, the cabin is well stocked for a nice weekend trip. It was very peaceful and we heard lots of birds chirping every morning. North Adam’s is close by and it’s worth checking out the museum MASS MoCA if you’re there. We will definitely be back!

Awesome place, nearly forgot to right a review but the place was so good there’s no way I’d leave it without a review. Way better than expected. Highly recommend, will definitely be visiting again sometime ! Way more goodies than expected.. the place is a mini palace within itself. Has everything needed !

Instructions were very clear and Mike was extremely helpful and prompt in answering any questions I had. I camped there with about a foot of snow on the ground and loved the whole experience that this site has to offer and just how quiet it is in the middle of winter. There are also some really good restaurants in the surrounding towns for foodies as well.

The Beech House
The structure is fantastic and has everything you need for a cozy stay in the woods. There are other properties nearby but far enough that they are out of sight. The walk from the road to the cabin is short & well marked.

A beautiful cabin nestled in the woods—a perfect place to simply 'be.' The cabin is a wonderful example of minimalism, offering the most important things you need without excess. The host, Michael, is incredibly attentive and, more importantly, patient with questions (thanks for putting up with mine, Michael!). For any potential needs, he kindly directed me to nearby places, offering a sort of concierge service that added to the experience.

The cabin is in a great, completely secluded location. It has all the necessary amenities, and the host ensures that guests feel warm and welcomed. I will definitely book it again in the future. There are no tips or caution notes, as everything is perfect.

The Beech house was an amazing comfortable camping experience. The house is nice and warm and had a comfortable bed. we camped in mid October and didn’t need to use the propane heater but it was nice to have it as a backup plan. Michael was an attentive and flexible host. There were lots of small touches that made our stay really easy, like a Coleman stove with propane, a fire pit and picnic table, a power bank, an axe, Bluetooth speaker etc. was a short drive to the popular hiking areas near north Adam’s. would stay again!

My girlfriend and I came to the Beech House for the long weekend and we had an amazing stay. From the picnic table and outdoor shower to the propane heater and power bank inside the cabin, this place had every amenity necessary for an incredibly comfortable camping trip. The spot is the perfect distance from the road/other houses that it feels intimate and private, yet not eerily isolated from the rest of civilization. We spent three nights cooking on the adjustable grill top conveniently attached to the fire pit and star-gazing before heading inside to the cozy bed in the cabin, warmed from the easy-to-use heater! The adorable town of North Adams was ~15min drive from the campsite and provided all the last minute items we had forgotten, as well as several cute cafes when we were feeling too lazy to cook lunch. The state forest with its many hiking trails was ~5min from the campsite and we also checked out some fishing spots that weren’t too far either! Michael was an incredible and accommodating host that was always available if we had any questions. We are going to make this an annual trip because we had such an amazing time, thank you so much Michael we can’t wait to come back!

Great experience! Very secluded and cozy, but also not far from civilization if u need anything. Great hiking in the area also. The hosts we very easy to get a hold of if needed. Highly recommend this spot!

The beech house is a great escape to relax and enjoy time offline. The cabin was clean and stocked with items that you may have forgot to bring. I also had some rain overnight during my stay and the cabin held up completely fine and it was incredibly peaceful to listen to the rain hit the roof. The land is secluded and wooded, great to enjoy the sounds of nature and a campfire. Michael’s directions to the site were easy to follow and gave good communication on what to expect/recommendations for items to bring. The drive to the site was also lovely and I recommend leaving extra time to make several stops along the way to visit shops/parks/orchards. I would love to come back in the fall, as the foliage around the site is sure to be lovely.

Overall site was decent. Very secluded, beds and other camp essentials were there for us to use. It was cool experience. The shower contraption was pretty cool but 5 gallon water goes fast if you are going to wash your hair multiple times in a week. And there was zero cell service; bring downloaded music or radio when you come here.
Down side the area was very moist and unfortunately we both got sick during our stay. I think if more trees are removed in the future and more sunlight can hit that spot It would dry everything out. It's just too shaded.
The step out of the cabin is a steep one I twisted my ankle twice pretty badly.
