Listen to the gentle brook and barred owls while nestled into the woods of Ashfield, MA on a small herbal homestead. The forest hut is a screened in platform that is lovely for camping on a warm summer's night. It has large windows and screens to keep out the bugs while enjoying a cool mountain breeze. There is a newly built composting toilet on site and small fire pit. This is not a cabin, no electricity, running water or plumbing. It is not well suited for winter camping unless you’re well equipped. BYO gear as there is not mattress or blankets in the shelter. We have a small farm store near the road filled with herbal teas, tinctures, gifts, chicken eggs, soaps, maple syrup and ghee. Take a swim in the Ashfield lake 1 mile away or visit the enchanting Chapel Falls on Trustees land just down the road in Williamsburg. Sweet Birch Herbals is a community herbal company offering workshops, apprenticeships, wellness consultations and hand crafted products including Full Moon Ghee. We grow organic herbs and ethically forage plants for medicine. Request a farm tour, herbalism class or any of our products for your stay here. Stay includes a rustic cabin in the woods! This camp, called Dream Day on Cape Cod, welcomes families who have a seriously ill child to enjoy respite together during the summer. Cabins vary slightly, but each includes two double bunk beds (four twin beds total) and one full-size bed, sleeping up to six guests. Each cabin is equipped with a mini refrigerator, microwave, and a full bathroom. The property also offers access to a wide-open field and a playground. Fire pit use may be requested during your stay (availability depends on fire danger levels). Please note: To access Nickerson State Park, a daily fee must be paid at the front gate until October 13.

Lots of hiking paths and Cape Cod bike path just up the road. Excellent fishing from the beach or get a charter for tuna, striped bass and blue fish. Then come home to a quiet space just for you.

Greatttt stay! This host has put a lot of thought into making her place comfy and cozy. When you travel solo, it's really important to be somewhere that feels safe. I not only felt safe, but completely pampered! Shower, toilet, picnic table and another table and chair area under the trees... all nicely decorated! She met me just minutes after I drove up. Provided me with all kinds of maps and info regarding the area. Could not be better!

Weekend Trip to Forest Hut in Western Mass

We had a great weekend getaway in this cute forest hut! The hut and privy were stocked with everything we needed for a weekend. The town of Ashfield is also very quaint. The hut is fairly close to the Airbnb house, so if you're looking for an isolated stay in the woods, this may not be far enough from others as you'd prefer.

Kelley's Corner was just what we needed for our whirlwind trip to the Cape. It was close to everything, including a bike trail if you decide to bring or rent bikes for your time here. The outside shower was necessary after a long hot day at the beach and the peaceful atmosphere around the site was calming to fall asleep to. She communicated throughout and was very responsive to any questions I had. Great stay!

The campsite we arrived to at Sanette’s had everything we needed: a private, shady, and thoughtfully designed space to relax and sleep peacefully! We loved admiring Sanette’s garden next to our site and appreciated the helpful tips, maps, and resources she graciously provided us when we rolled in. Sanette's site was a lovely and tucked away spot. It was a great home base for our quick weekend trip. There was a minor issue with the water but Sanette quickly remedied the situation and even gave us some fresh veggies from the garden as an apology. Highly recommend!!

Staying at the Forest Hut was a magical experience. The hut was cozy and romantic with the fairy lights, views of the light through the trees, and sounds of nature lulling us to sleep. The privy was clean and comfortable. Swinging in the hammock sipping coffee and reading a book was never better. Host is just lovely and her garden/apothecary made it extra special!

We had a blast staying at Kelley’s corner! The site had everything to make the stay enjoyable. Sanette greeted us and we even got to meet her dog! She provided firewood for the fire-pit as well which was really nice. The sites location was perfect and close to anything you’d want to do. The mosquitos can be an annoyance so bring bug spray or a thermacell! We would definitely stay here again.

Just an amazing amazing place! Very secluded, peaceful and serene… not to mention Kelley is such a fantastic host! We only stayed one night but what a wonderful night it was and don’t forget to check out Provincetown if you can… you won’t be disappointed! Just an all-around amazing time!!!
