The meadow we occupy was once the farmers property that I grew up next to at my parents farm house. When he wanted to sell his property he offered it to us for purchase at a fair price if we would not develop more than we needed to live here. We maintained the meadow adjacent to our property and have kept it as an agricultural site. We have had our son develop an edible forest garden and a unique diversified small orchard so we can eat and share healthy organic fruits and vegetables while helping our environment and wildlife and educating others to do the same. It is expensive to live in Newtown but we love our property. We want to teach others to grow food from their land while helping to support us keeping our adjacent property agricultural and undeveloped. We are located in the heart of the Hudson Valley, close to the Village of Rhinebeck and the Hudson River. There are many things to do within a half an hour of the campsite. Learn more about this land: A very spacious semi-wooded site that is in the shape of a triangle. The dimensions are approximately 100' by 100' by 50'. Perfect for the large group camp out or the family site. The Lean-to is approximately 10'x9', large enough for a small tent or keep the picnic table in there for bad weather. Large or multiple tents no problem, put your tents in the wooded area where there is room for multiple tents. There is a fire pit area, picnic table, 4 outdoor chairs and corn hole that all are included with the site. A seasonal stream runs along the campsite giving you a nice bubbling brook sound.  Plenty of privacy with screens around the site. Within 15-20 minutes of our site is just about anything you could desire. Local restaurants, hiking, fishing, shopping, drive in movie and much much more. Rainy days no problem explore one of our nations pieces of history, Vanderbilt mansion, Theodore Roosevelt home, Montgomery Place Mansion, Poets walk, Ferncliff forest, or Art Omi. Well off the beaten track, it's scenic, private and peaceful. Camping at Moon In The Pond Farm is a bit of heaven. There are separate sites to choose. Around the farm, you have your own secluded spot to enjoy. (Though you may be in a field next to our Scottish Highland cattle!) Two are tent sites: the PondSide and the FieldEdge. There's one site for small/tiny RVs or Campervan. And finally there's the HiddenCabin--a bed a roof and convenience. Each has a firepit with a small grill to cook over the fire. (all firewood provided) Our campsites are in quieter areas of the farm. One overlooks the pond, others are on the edges of different farm fields, one a cabin nearer the farmstead. All require a beautiful, bucolic trek of 150-350 yards from the roadside parking--ensuring the quiet, natural experience. During the day times, you may see or hear farm work. At night it's lusciously dark and serenely quiet. You'll hear owls hoot, frogs croak, crickets chirp, foxes yowl and coyotes howl! In June and July the fields and trees light up like Christmas with fireflies, and you'll see the stars. During the week is the absolute best time--the local hot spots (or cooling down spots!) are much quieter, and all our campsites have reduced weekday rates. If you can, take advantage by adding a Thursday or Sunday night to a weekend stay. We've got an awesome, easy hiking trail on adjacent Nature Conservancy land. It meanders through woodlands, around rock ledges, through wetlands (on a 600' of boardwalk) and ends at a beautiful stream and pond with a gigantic beaver dam. Not far from here are numerous well-marked hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail (with famous Bash Bish Falls) and several offshoots (Sage's Ravine, Race Brook Falls), Bartholomew's Cobble, Umpacheenee Falls, and others). Also in the neighborhood are opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, rock climbing, gavel-road and country-road biking, and pretty much any outdoor activity/adventure opportunity. Or... you can just chill and relax, sleep, or read the day away! Love food? This is Farm-to-Table for real! Never so close--the table's AT the farm! Bring your cooking gear and get some of our wicked fresh organic food--veggies, chops, sausages, eggs, bacon, granola, yogurt, etc. Sear yourself up a real treat! Very nearby, as the Berkshires is a cultural mecca, there are also numerous opportunities from many great restaurants to art, dance, music, spas, galleries, antique shops, museums, cafes and much more. It's still amazingly quiet at the farm where the Milky Way is clearly visible.

There is some road noise from Sawkill road & the Thruway dependent on the spot you choose to set up. There is chickens, bees & goats & 2 guardian life stocks dogs that live with the goats. Really enjoyed this Hipcamp. Felt very private, the electric hook up allowed us to stay nice and warm in the campervan, and the host was responsive and welcoming. We’re definitely adding it to our list to return to in the spring.

Clear instructions/directions. Everything as described. Good for night sky watching. I personally loved the occasional train sound. Nice firepit and wood for sale on site, though it was too cold and the night too short for me to make the effort to light a fire. Recommend 4x4 for camping here in super snowy conditions.

This tucked away property is just minutes from route 6, quiet, and just the right amount of wild. We loved it so much that we stayed an extra night to soak it all in. There is plenty of firewood, room to adventure, and the views are amazing!

Attentive and Knowledgeable Host! My girls (and I) can't wait to go back, and we even had two very reluctant, first time campers, choose to stay the entire night! The property is lovely, the sites are great, plenty of firewood... what can I say...it feels like home, in the absolute best way!

We loved camping at Ronald’s place. Very quiet and secluded. We only stayed overnight, but had the choice of his space which was fun to navigate in our SUV (if you have air suspension would recommend to jack it up for better ground clearance!). Thanks for having us!

I enjoyed my peaceful camping spot on Jessica's lovely land. There was plenty of firewood, if needed. I did not get to meet my host in person, but Jessica checked in by text to make sure I was doing ok. Her land is well maintained and the location is close to a State Park and to stores and shopping. The land is on a slight incline and it can get windy. Highly recommend and will make plans to return when it's a bit warmer!

Perfect spot! Feels like wilderness but there are actually houses all around. Plenty of hiking too. Read the other reviews on the driveway- it’s not that bad! Arriving by daylight advised.

The horses and dogs were very nice. The property is pretty. Kathy was very responsive, even though it's a working farm there was never really any noise outside except the dogs doing what dogs 🐕 do.

Absolutely stunning skies and blustery mornings. Must-visit farm store woth products grown, picked, and packed in-house. Friendly staff and semi-private sites with ample space between the neighboring fire pits. Nearby some stunning hiking (Minnewaska and Mohank) and great eats (Bacchus in New Paltz especially recommended for vegetarians, beer lovers, and billiards). Just a wonderful getaway.

Wright’s farm is a beautiful location for tent or RV camping. There are several different sites to choose from. I was there at the end of October and all were quiet with beautiful views of the apple orchards and surrounding areas. There is a farm store on site that has all sorts of goodies. And a brewery open on the weekends. Will definitely be back to explore more of this beautiful area.
