For July 4th weekend, and Labor Day weekend drive-up sites are a 2 night minimum. In the off season starting after Thanksgiving through April, there is no water or toilet or shower facilities available. The solar shower and water lines may be shut off any time in October if freezing conditions prevail. Please check with us. Our 75 acres is a wonderful, diverse mix of habitat, harmoniously integrated with our small farm. This land was the homestead of the very first non native settler of the area, John Wiley, in 1787. Before that, it was the land of the Mahican native Americans. They named it "valley of the butternut trees", or Wyomanock. The Wyomanock Creek is the backbone of this little valley. Beaver have dammed the creek at several points to create ponds and other wetland features that support a diversity of wildlife including otter, moose and a myriad of birds, from osprey to herons. This sanctuary is host to many uncommon native plants and plant communities. We would love to share it with you! Your host, Thom, invites you to property to explore 75 acres of meadows, woods and water. Choose one of several sites either in the woods or open areas. You are also free to use our outdoor solar shower or take a dip in the cold pond or artesian spring fed pool. Our location is convenient to the Berkshire Mountains, state parks, hiking and other attractions, including Ramble Wild tree to tree adventures and Jiminy Peak. Well off the beaten track, it's scenic, private and peaceful. Camping at Moon In The Pond Farm is a bit of heaven. There are separate sites to choose. Around the farm, you have your own secluded spot to enjoy. (Though you may be in a field next to our Scottish Highland cattle!) Two are tent sites: the PondSide and the FieldEdge. There's one site for small/tiny RVs or Campervan. And finally there's the HiddenCabin--a bed a roof and convenience. Each has a firepit with a small grill to cook over the fire. (all firewood provided) Our campsites are in quieter areas of the farm. One overlooks the pond, others are on the edges of different farm fields, one a cabin nearer the farmstead. All require a beautiful, bucolic trek of 150-350 yards from the roadside parking--ensuring the quiet, natural experience. During the day times, you may see or hear farm work. At night it's lusciously dark and serenely quiet. You'll hear owls hoot, frogs croak, crickets chirp, foxes yowl and coyotes howl! In June and July the fields and trees light up like Christmas with fireflies, and you'll see the stars. During the week is the absolute best time--the local hot spots (or cooling down spots!) are much quieter, and all our campsites have reduced weekday rates. If you can, take advantage by adding a Thursday or Sunday night to a weekend stay. We've got an awesome, easy hiking trail on adjacent Nature Conservancy land. It meanders through woodlands, around rock ledges, through wetlands (on a 600' of boardwalk) and ends at a beautiful stream and pond with a gigantic beaver dam. Not far from here are numerous well-marked hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail (with famous Bash Bish Falls) and several offshoots (Sage's Ravine, Race Brook Falls), Bartholomew's Cobble, Umpacheenee Falls, and others). Also in the neighborhood are opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, rock climbing, gavel-road and country-road biking, and pretty much any outdoor activity/adventure opportunity. Or... you can just chill and relax, sleep, or read the day away! Love food? This is Farm-to-Table for real! Never so close--the table's AT the farm! Bring your cooking gear and get some of our wicked fresh organic food--veggies, chops, sausages, eggs, bacon, granola, yogurt, etc. Sear yourself up a real treat! Very nearby, as the Berkshires is a cultural mecca, there are also numerous opportunities from many great restaurants to art, dance, music, spas, galleries, antique shops, museums, cafes and much more. It's still amazingly quiet at the farm where the Milky Way is clearly visible.

Our property is 85 very private acres with an open field surrounded by forest and open wooded area with many trails. The forest is very diverse including some old growth maples and birches, as well as hemlock and pine trees. The campsites are at the edge of the field set back into the woods. I have recently added sand and gravel to improve drainage since the heavy rain we have had last year. We have a portable composting toilet outhouse and a hot outdoor shower. Feel free to explore all of the trails on foot or mountain bike. You may see some turkeys or deer out there. There is a small pond with lots of frogs and salamanders near the camping area, and a few seasonal streams on the property. You can hike a one mile loop on our newest trail. It is medium difficulty because of the hillside it is built on so hiking boots are recommended unless you are on a mountain bike. Rock walls built in the mid 1800s circle the property almost entirely so the borders are easy to see. The Deerfield river is a few miles away where you can fish for trout or go for a swim or kayak. The Connecticut river and the green river are about 15 minutes away as well. We have tubes, a canoe, and a kayak that are available to rent for some floating! Historic Deerfield village and Yankee Candle store and factory are about 10 minutes away. We are about 20 minutes from Northampton and Amherst.

With the main house built in the 1830s this property has seen many uses such as a farm, retail Christmas store, church, rental cabins, and a gravel quarry among other things. I now try to keep the back acreage by the brook and pond as natural as possible for habitat, as well as you the campers! Learn more about this land: I have 3 well spaced out RV sites on the property. They fit different sized rigs so please read the descriptions. The Pond site is significantly larger and can hold multiple vehicles and tents or trailers (please add this in the extras if you will be having multiple vehicles or trailers). Pets are welcome at the sites, but please have them remain leashed or under your effective verbal control. Most will have cell service at the sites or there is a free public Wi-Fi in Wilmington center. Private yet convenient to Downtown Wilmington, VT. Located between the Harriman reservoir and Lake Raponda, both great for boating, fishing and swimming. As well as the Deerfield River across the street, which runs through town. There is a public hiking trail that goes through the property. It goes from the Fairview ave. boat launch in Wilmington, all the way up to West Dover. You can access this at the back of the site. The sites are only a minutes drive from downtown Wilmington, or you can hike/bike there on the trail (approx 15 min). In Wilmington there is plenty of shopping, gifts, coffee, restaurants, laundry, gas, liquor store/ dispensary, electric car chargers, etc. I have dry, split firewood available for $5 on site. Please don't bring your own wood unless it is dryed and prepackaged from a retail store or bought from one of the local sellers right around me. Transportation of out of state firewood can bring invasive beetles to our forests...if you need anything else feel free to reach out and I'll do my best to steer you in the right direction.

Mount Snow is 40 minutes away via Routes 9 and 100, and we’re only 45 minutes from the Mass MoCA art museum in North Adams, Mass. The Harriman Reservoir is located 20 minutes away and provides a variety of spaces for boats, kayakers, swimmers, picnic areas with grills and more! Do you want an “off the beaten path” hike or swimming hole with rocks for sunbathing? We can direct you to several secluded spots on our property or within 15 minutes. The Green River covered bridge and log dam is 10 minutes down the road, and you can sample from several farmsteads and art galleries in the area. Interested in homesteading or farming? Would you like a historic walking tour of ancient stone structures on the land? We love to share our expertise — ask about our tours and experiences. Here's some more background about the farm itself: Our farm's site sits near an ancient Abenaki foot trail and crossroads of sorts. Stone cairns and old stone springs speak to centuries if not millennia of human habitation. The land was developed into a farm during Halifax's hey-day in the 1800s. Like many "hill farms" in the region, that farm disappeared into the forest after farmers moved to the Midwest after the Civil War. Thus the land was fully forested when Tristan purchased it in August 2005 — raw acreage, no buildings, no fields. He has been building it into the farm you see around you ever since. Alison joined in 2020, and we had two kids along the way. The land is permanently conserved with the Vermont Land Trust, meaning it cannot be developed. The forest is sustainably managed for wildlife habitat to Forest Stewardship Council standards. The farmland follows organic practices. We both have off-farm jobs (in the sustainability field), leaving the farm as our passion project. What we grow: Our gardens are home to Mandrake (the real-life plant that’s repotted in Harry Potter), dang-shen, Caucasian mountain spinach, sea buckthorn, haskap, teosinte — the wild ancestor of modern corn — and dozens of other edibles and medicinals that have been in relationship with humans for centuries or millennia and have largely vanished from modern gardens. My Haven sits on 2.25 acres. It is walking distance to Lake Paran and the Robert Frost Trail, as well as the small quaint town of North Bennington. You can see mountains and there are more hiking trails throughout the county. The back and side of the property is wooded, very private! The view is of a meadow and mountain (Mount Anthony). There is a fire pit and access to water and electricity. The Haven is on a dead end road. A beautiful, quiet place to rest your head. Sites are located 15 minutes to Catskill Village, 20 minutes from City of Hudson, 25 minutes from Tannersville / Hunter and 30 minutes from Woodstock. There are short trails on our property for walking and miles of hiking trails in the Catskill Park. We have 3 sites. 2 for a tent and one site for a travel trailer less than 24' or a tent. Spaces not within view of each other. Full 7 Gallon water jug provided for washing up and rinsing dishes, no electric but I can top up your batteries for a small fee with my generator. Basically dry camping with fire ring and picnic table and water. Please keep pets on a leash and pick up after them.

The site was nice and level with easy pull-through access. The pond was calm and clear. I worried that the water might have algae, but no! There is a kind of lily pad in there, with frogs. The walking trails are right there, and the brook is beautiful.

Great spot for a quick stop over. I wish I had more time to explore. The town is quaint and there is plenty VT things to do within 45 minutes. I did walked down to the creek but it had just rained and it was dusk in June so there were plenty of bugs. As other have mentioned during the day it is a busy road but it is quiet by the time you settle down for bed. Plus you are in a little pain so you can't necessarily see the road 👍

Quite a nice spot tucked in the corner near the trails with a gorgeous stream. As others mentioned, you can still hear the vehicles on the main road, but its gets very quiet as night draws. Sleeping was super peaceful. Gus was great with checking in and welcoming my companion canine and me.

The spot at the pond was absolutely lovely! Quiet with nice views. It was well kept with the grass low so easy to enjoy the outdoors. There's a well tended trail next to it which follows a creek. Very pleasant place to camp! It's somewhat private but not secluded. Dog friendly, too. Overall a perfect spot for the night when travelling through the area.

This space was perfectly on our route out east. The site was clean and accessible and there is a beautiful trail and creek behind the property. I would recommend this site to others who are not worried about having less privacy as there isn’t any but it works for a night or two.

The campground is well maintained. The environment is very nice.. grass lawn clean. The trail nice is nice for Hiking. It is located around my route 9. It is convenient for in and out. The owner, Gus , is very nice. When I checking, he came out welcome to us and showed us where the campsite is and how to get there. My campsite has a tub of 5G T-Mobile. Will come next time definitely.

Beautiful spot. Walking distance to town, trail right from camp. Gus is very friendly. He greeted us briefly when we arrived and gave us our privacy. Would definitely stay again.

October Mountain Campground

The campground has 3 sections, located on different tiers of a hill. The lower level has RV sites, middle has tent sites, and upper has a few yurts. Each level has a bath house (3 toilet stalls and 1 shower in the lower level; it was run-down but clean enough). Outside the entrance station (near the RV sites) is a HUGE power station that emits a hum constantly. Super annoying and an eyesore. You’ll see many vehicles drive-by with boats or ATVs in tow as the state forest also has areas suitable for their use. Accessible from the campground are a few hiking trails. Monument Mountain is a popular hiking spot about 20 minutes away and Bash Bish Falls State Park is about 45 minutes away. Note: Massachusetts does not allow alcohol in their parks.

October Mountain Campground

Campsites are large but fairly close together. Clean bathhouse with dishwashing station outside. Loop 1 is tailored for RV/trailers; Loop 2 sites are nestled into the woods; Loop 3 has 2 tent sites and 3 yurts. A few sites are along the road (one is immediately adjacent to the bathhouse) - so book early for best selection. The rangers were friendly and helpful. Plenty of trails to explore!

October Mountain Campground

Great campground with large sites and clean bathrooms. One shower per bathroom but there didn't seem to be too much of a backup. I didn't take one so can't speak to cleanliness. Nice dish sink outside the bathrooms too.
