Wow…! My husband and I stayed here for 3 days over Thanksgiving and we absolutely loved it. Our campsite was secluded and beautiful, the portos were clean, and the owner is what makes this place a real gem. James is genuinely one of the most helpful and generous people I’ve met in Florida so far.
We ran into some technical issues with our power station, and James helped us in every possible way — from letting us use his solar panels and generator to even helping us charge it at his house. He was attentive, responsive, and provided firewood whenever we needed (for a fee). We’re so grateful for everything he did, and we will 100% be back in the future.
I highly recommend staying here. The only heads-up is that if you plan on using Starlink or similar setups, there isn’t the clearest sky view. We were able to get it working, and I was able to work, but there were some interruptions from tree cover — just something to be aware of.

Really enjoyed our time here. The site had plenty of space, the pizza oven and screened area was a great addition. Multiple access points for our hammocks, even had our very own trail and camp cat! 10/10 getaway into nature and solitude

The campsite was beautiful and the motion sensor solar lights were an awesome help at night. The tree cover keeps the campsites cool and shady. They have lots of cool things to see. The kids loved seeing the animals and being able to explore the camground freely. I would also recommend visiting wakiva springs while youre in the area!

We loved our stay on the farm! The property was well kept and the campsites were set up nicely. We did visit during the off season, so we had the place to ourselves except for one night. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. The farm animals were so cute. Lastly, the farm cats were the best! They both came up to us for some love and attention. The one cat, Spurs, sat on my lap at our campsite one of the nights as we sat by the camp fire. We will definitely book again!

The property is well maintained, relaxing, private and beautiful. We enjoyed watching the deer in the mornings and the hawks soaring over the lake. Laura was quick to respond to our questions and was a fantastic host. Excellent set up and we will definitely book again in the future.

Stopped in while passing through. I assured James I would be there before dark. Of course I lingered too long and got there tired and in the dark.
I missed the clearly obvious sign and wondered if my GPS had led me wrong. James came out to gather me in and show me to the perfect site for the night.
Private, peaceful, great for what I did passing through, although I did take time for the Lake Apopka North Shore Wildlife Drive - highly recommended as well.

While I was in Mark's front yard, I felt like I was a world away at my own farm. This wonderfully flat and clear site faces the horses and the nursery at the front of the property. It's far enough out to feel like you're in the countryside, but close enough to everything to feel like you're in the city.
Just 15 minutes from Mt. Dora and 45 from the Lake Apopka Wilderness Drive, a perfect recommendation from Mark, Pennylane Farm is a perfect spot.

While you might enjoy tubing a lazy river at a waterpark, the experience simply can’t compare to tubing in the crystal clear waters of one of Mother Nature’s natural lazy rivers. The highlight of Kelly Park is a 68-degree, free-flowing spring that creates a meandering stream. The clear aquamarine waters pass through a lush green landscape, offering a tropical paradise for swimming, floating, paddling, snorkeling, and hiking. This popular Orange County park, located near Apopka, Florida, often fills within an hour of opening for visitors seeking day passes, but camping onsite means you’ll have direct access to the bounties of nature without the lines.

- Best for onsite camping: Kelly Park Round Spring Campground offers water and electric hookups for tent and RV camping.
- Best for state park camping: Wekiwa Springs State Park Campground has full hookups and another beautiful natural landscape to explore, just 15 minutes to Kelly Park.
- Best national forest campground: Clearwater Lake Recreation Area and Campground offers dry camping with onsite amenities.
Tips for snagging a campsite
- Reservations for the Kelly Park Round Spring Campground are only accepted online on the Orange County Parks website.
- Entrance fees for the swimming area and tubing run are included in your reservation.
- Pets are not allowed in the campground or park.
- Campers must arrive before the park’s daily closing time, which varies by season.
- The park offers 30-amp and 50-amp electric hookups, with water spigots at the sites.
- Sewer hookups are not available. There is an onsite dump station.
When to go
Central Florida’s summers tend to be hot and humid, with frequent rains and thunderstorms. The park’s waters close when lightning is nearby. Expect daily high temperatures to top 90 degrees, but the natural spring waters stay a refreshing 68-degrees year round. Fall and spring tend to see high temperatures in the 70s to 80s, which may still allow for swimming, and these shoulder seasons have fewer rainy days. Winters are perfect for those seeking year-round sun, with highs in the 70s and lows in the 40s. You won’t encounter freezing temperatures or snow here.
Know before you go
- Tube rentals are available at vendors outside the park, or you may bring your own floats, pool noodles, and rafts, as long as they are less than five feet in length.
- Kayak, canoe, and paddleboard rentals are also available outside the park in locations like Kings Landing and Camp Joy; some offer shuttles back to your departure point.
- Alcohol is not permitted.
- Rock Springs Kelly Park is located 35 miles north of Orlando, providing easy access to many popular theme parks.
- Picnic pavilions, restrooms, showers, and a concession stand are available.
- Alligators are not found as commonly in spring waters, but they are prevalent in the region and may be found in Kelly Park.
- While many Florida springs attract manatees, this park does not. Instead, you may see otters, turkeys, turtles, and more.
