We are just a short drive off of I-95 in Coastal Ga, near Brunswick,Ga; only minutes from the beaches of the Golden Isles of Ga, Okefenokee Swamp Park and Northeast Fl. In such cases, a truck or SUV is recommended—Should it flood we’ll inform you in advance if conditions change. 13 feet and over is flood stage.
After heavy rainfall, the road may become slightly bumpy but generally remains passable, even with a car.

My cousin loved to fish and purchased 100 acres of land here 50 years ago. I wound up with this part of the property which is now surrounded by Big Hammock wildlife management area. For the past 47 years I’ve gone here to enjoy the river. The Ohoopee river splits here on the opposite bank and forms a 100 acre island before flowing into the nearby Altamaha river. Usually the river flow slows and kayaking around the island is pretty easy. There is a lot of wildlife to see here with white tail deer, turkey, waterfowl, beavers, otters, feral hogs and predators. The island is a favorite roost for every species of birds. During dry periods, the Ohoopee river water gets very clear with visibility greater than 6’ at times.

Lots to see and do here. St. Mary's, GA is directly east. for shopping and downtown waterfront that we love! Fernandina bch/Amelia Isl Beaches, FL and Jekyll island/St. Simons, GA..

Call us bias, but there’s nothing better than small town life. When the "blue roof cottage by the tracks" (yes, it used to have a unique blue roof) hit the market in early 2021, we knew it had to be ours! We purchased it & flipped it into a vacation home for guests of Folkston .. and The Conductor's Corner was born. Because we are also avid RV'ers, we thought what better way to finish off our corner than to add a few first-class RV sites to accommodate the camping community.

The Conductor’s Corner features 3 premium RV sites directly on the rail lines of the Folkston Funnel. This railfan's dream neighbors the Folkston Railfan Train Platform. The spacious concrete pads are perfect for a night of watching trains under the stars.

A quick 3 minute walk from the Conductor’s Corner will lead to the heart of Main Street where visitors will find a plethora of hidden treasures: coffee shops, boutiques, local eateries, the Train Museum and so much more. Guests could spend a day exploring the habitats and waterways of the Okefenokee Swamp or take a short drive to neighboring communities such as Cumberland Island, Savannah, Golden Isles or Amelia Island or Jacksonville in Florida. All the comforts of home and the utmost southern hospitality are included in your stay on our corner.

Drive through with camper or set up a tent. Live oaks on property with abundant nature. Boat ramp near by to access river with your boat. Float down the river on tubes to your camp site. Feel free to use the kayak to explore the river. Bait and tackle nearby with local grocery store. Fire pit and picnic table available. Please note: Our serene 1-acre campsite is accessed via a rural dirt road maintained by the county. While typically navigable by most vehicles, during periods when the Satilla River reaches flood levels (around 12–13 feet), a section of the road may hold water. In such cases, a truck or SUV is recommended—Should it flood we’ll inform you in advance if conditions change. 13 feet and over is flood stage.
After heavy rainfall, the road may become slightly bumpy but generally remains passable, even with a car.
For everyone’s safety and comfort, Quiet hours begin at 9 PM—please respect the natural setting and fellow campers.

My cousin loved to fish and purchased 100 acres of land here 50 years ago. I wound up with this part of the property which is now surrounded by Big Hammock wildlife management area. For the past 47 years I’ve gone here to enjoy the river. The Ohoopee river splits here on the opposite bank and forms a 100 acre island before flowing into the nearby Altamaha river. Usually the river flow slows and kayaking around the island is pretty easy. There is a lot of wildlife to see here with white tail deer, turkey, waterfowl, beavers, otters, feral hogs and predators. The island is a favorite roost for every species of birds. During dry periods, the Ohoopee river water gets very clear with visibility greater than 6’ at times.

We loved this place so much we stayed an extra night. A beautiful, quiet spot on the bank of the While Chimney River, Belle Bluff Island campground is high on our return-someday list. Whether it’s fishing from the dock or listening to Richard, aka “The Mayor,” tell stories, this is a place to go if you’re looking to kick back and relax. Owner Ron McIntosh is a real gentleman - he graciously let us upgrade to an unoccupied larger site with a full view of the river and marsh. Two big thumbs up!

Great campground tucked away with a quiet, charming feel. Close proximity to nearby islands such as Sapelo, Blackbeard and many others for exploring. The campground is accompanied by a Marina making trips like these super streamline especially in the event you need to dock a boat or fuel up on gas. The bathrooms and showers were clean!!!
Side note - the owner was down to earth, super friendly, and very interesting to talk to! One of those rare, wise storytellers with a wealth of knowledge, you just want to sit and listen!! Super relatable, very cool guy! Also have to mention the Mayor, "Mayor Richard" that is, who welcomed us and got us quickly situated. Really cool man, extremely helpful, and fun! We'll be back!

We loved tent camping at the pond!
Perfect for a nice quiet getaway.
There's plenty of trees for a shady spot with a steel fire pit and some cleared brush behind the pond to pick out firewood.
There's lots of wildlife and farm animals to see and plenty of space to walk.
It was a great place to train our dog off leash as well.
There are several dogs that live across the far side of the pond that were loud at times, but not too often.
One of the funniest parts of the stay was hearing a loud "bloop" in the night when the local beaver jumped off the dock.
Overall a serene and beautiful stay.

There was a lot of room and privacy for each site. We walked around and to see the river. I noticed one campground with canoes, so some must be enjoying the river.
Internet connection is sketchy, but we were able to stream using my phone as a hotspot.
The host was friendly and helpful.

We were just traveling through georgia on our way back home and stopped here. The site was gorgeous and I would definitely recommend even for longer stays. Plenty of fire wood, a charcoal grill and even some lights on each spot. :) the lagoon and crickets at night were nice as well. If youre lucky youll hear an owl like we did!

Steve and April’s property is beautiful, easily accessible, and perfect for a stopover. I was in a campervan and the sites were flat and nicely spread out. I had a wonderful time until I tried to turn around on the narrow road outside of the site and got stuck in a ditch. Totally my fault, but Steve came to my rescue and pulled me out with his tractor. Above and beyond and I am grateful to him for saving me $350 tow truck bill. I would absolutely stay here again and look forward to coming back to check out the winery.
