The Freckled Frog, Florida

The Freckled Frog started out as a plant nursery. It got its name because my grandfather always called me frog and my friends called me freckles. It just seemed like the right name. We no longer have the nursery but we host music events once a month (in season) as well as other events. We just thought it would be nice to add camping to the mix.

Our property is located in Pine Level Florida. Pine Level was established in 1866 as the new county seat of old Manatee County Florida ( formed in 1855). Apparently Pine Level, Florida was quite the western saloon town in its heyday complete with vigilante gang and street side shooting duels. Today, the only things left are the church, cemetery, the “hanging tree” where justice was served, cattle ranches and orange groves. You can bring your bike or hike the old back roads of Pine Level. You will see beautiful pasture land and cattle . There is still a wooden bridge that crosses Horse Creek on the way to the historical Pine Level United Methodist Church. Come step back in time with us and enjoy the country.

The Freckled Frog is located just west of the city of Arcadia Fl. It is a private farm with cattle and 3 donkeys on 35ac. It's possible to see deer and turkey early in the mornings or in the evenings. We are surrounded by a large cattle ranch's and citrus groves. If you enjoy birdwatching, wildlife viewing, hiking or bike riding this will be a perfect place for you.  We charge per spot for a camper/ RV or 2 small tents.
