A small but unique piece of land that was given to a family in the 1920s by the Florida Railroad Company. It stayed in the family until we purchased it. It is unique because the surrounding area does not have much tree coverage. This is due to the ground underneath, which is a vein of grey marl. This is why the area is called the Allapattah (an Indian word for Alligator) Flats. We are hoping that our county stays the way it is so people will know what Old Florida really looks like. Minutes from I-95, but surrounded by the Allapattah Flats Wildlife Management Preserve. Located on Martin Hwy, which was recently designated as a Florida Scenic Hwy. Fifteen minutes to Stuart and thirty minutes to West Palm Beach, a world away from the hustle and bustle. We realize that people also love Florida for Disney and tropical paradises but if that is what you want then this may not be your kind of place. Depending on the season and availability we may have local honey and/or firewood available for purchase.

In this leafy paradise lives gopher tortoises (they act like gophers, but are tortoises!), alligators, black bears, and the skunk ape, also known as the “stink ape,” which bears an uncanny resemblance to bigfoot. Areas of recreation include Ocean Pond--a fave place for boaters, skiiers, and campers, and Olustee Beach for swimming, fishing, and picnicking. The park is also open to hunters and fishermen with permits. With so much land to explore in this National Forest, we wouldn’t be surprised if bigfoot was hiding in there!

My first hipcamp and it was way beyond my expectations. This place was lovely. We had a quite spot in the back among the trees and animals. Plenty of green grass and no fresh air. The gentlemen hosting were so helpful and made great suggestions. Electric and water right at site. Since no sewer there is a clean private restroom with shower just a few feet away. Beach, restaurants and grocery within 10 min drive. Will definitely come again.

We just got home after spending two incredible nights at Campsite #8, and we already can't wait to come back. This was my husband’s and my very first camping trip, so we were a little nervous at first. But all of our worries disappeared as soon as we met Amanda. She has such a kind, welcoming soul and came by to say hello after we got settled in. She even gave us her phone number in case we needed anything during our stay, which made us feel so cared for. We absolutely loved the river (it was so refreshing!!!) The gentle current felt like a natural jacuzzi, melting away all the tension in our muscles. One of our favorite memories was lying in the tent, listening to the rain and the passing thunderstorms. It was incredibly peaceful, and I slept better than I have in a long time. We drove six hours to get here, and it was 100% worth every mile. If you're looking for a peaceful escape surrounded by beautiful nature and true solitude, don't hesitate, this is the perfect place. I left feeling like my soul had been restored. Thank you, Amanda, for sharing your little piece of heaven with us. It was an experience we'll never forget.

LOVED camping on Amanda's land! The campsites were spread out enough to allow privacy. Everything was exactly as described. Tons of amenities, but secluded enough to totally unplug and recharge. Amanda was also absolutely amazing! She followed us to drop off our car so we could launch our kayaks from her property at checkout time. The paddle absolutely beautiful and took us about 2-3 hours total. I will be back very soon to check out one of the yurts! The perfect weekend getaway!

Best deal in northern Keys! The campground offered concrete foundation tent sites with electric hookups, showers with AC, a boat ramp with boat slits, and more. Quiet time was from 10pm-7am. I’d definitely stay here on my next trip down!

Amanda was an excellent host and was gracious to help me get settled in. She was easily accessible for any needs that may have come up. She also reached out in advance to let me know when bad weather was coming. The campsite was gorgeous and the creek was cold. I will definitely be choosing this site again.

I had the perfect anniversary adventure! The private campsites, spotless bathhouse, and gorgeous water made it perfect for unplugging and just being together. It stormed, but the yurt stayed dry and the AC kept us cool. We’ will definitely be back. 🌿🏕️💙

2 nights at The Wandering Path

I don’t know where to begin…I absolutely fell in love with The Wandering Path! Amanda’s property is absolutely beautiful! We had the pleasure of staying in one of the yurts and tent camping on one of the waterside sites. The yurt was just perfect from the comfy bed with brightly colored throw and rugs to the ac! There is a fire ring and picnic table at the site. We slept so peacefully and woke rested and ready for the day. The bathhouse was perfect and she has an amazing covered cooking area with picnic table and sink for everyone to enjoy. The tent site was just a lovely tucked away under the trees with a fire ring, hammock swing (on our site) and solar string lights all while the creek is rushing by just below the bluff. There is an incredible beach to lounge the afternoon away or you can drop a chair the spring feed creek and just let nature envelope you! Amanda was an amazing host and very responsive and the property was clean and inviting. I can’t wait to come back!
