Beach camping in Florida

Blessed by year-round sunshine and warm weather, Florida is an always appealing destination for campers and RVers. Sunshine seekers and snowbirds heading south will find some excellent beachside Florida campsites and RV parks where they can escape the chill of the north and soak up some winter sun. But when the heat of summer is on, the Sunshine State’s hundreds of beachside campsites—from Destin in the north to Cayo Costa State Park in the central Gulf Coast, and Long Key State Park in the south—also offer easy access to the ocean to cool off. South Florida and the Keys make for perfect winter getaways, while the cooler beaches of northwest Florida are best in summer. Throughout the state, Florida's beachside sites offer plenty of facilities, as well as easy access to hiking and biking trails and on-the-water fun, from casting a line to launching a kayak.
