Primitive camping is permitted at designated wooded high grounds in the middle of the property. It is a 5 and 10-minute rugged hike in to the middle ground respectively. The trail remains under development, so please bring close-toed shoes or boots for hiking throughout the property (depending on rainfall, there may be mud and water).
We have two primitive campsites these campsites are first come first serve, they are not assigned when booking. Plesea see pictures.
Our Glamper tent is a 10x12 canvas furnished full size bed with bedding, pillows and enough floor space for two sleeping bags.
The tens are located off a short trial, but rugged 2-minute hike from the parking area. We provide the opportunity to go camping without having to pack the tent.
Closed toed shoes are highly suggested as well as plenty of lighting with batteries or solar charging capability. This is a rugged, fun and serene camping experience.

History of our location Count De Galvez awarded a land grant on Garcon Point to Antonio Garzon following his 1781 Siege of Pensacola in consideration of “his good services rendered as an interpreter to the Indians of Pensacola." The grant was held for 35 years before Maria Garzon, who survived husband Antonio, sold the land they called Garzon’s Point to Joseph (Jose) Bonifay.
The land uses were favorable for cattle grazing and turpentining through the 1800s. Many more pioneer families moved into the area and began their own business in the booming industrial opportunities of western Florida. It came to be known as Yellow River Marsh State Buffer Preserve on June 12, 2000, when it was purchased by the state of Florida to protect rare and environmentally sensitive lands, plants and animals.
Through generous donations, Preservation 2000 and the Florida Forever Program, more land was added to protect contiguous habitat of the Garcon Ecosystem.
Today Yellow River Marsh Preserve State Park provides recreational opportunities for hiking and nature study along the Great Florida Birding Trail among rare and endemic plant species and within one of Florida’s oldest multi-cultural frontiers.The preserve is located in Santa Rosa County on Garcon Point, which separates Escambia Bay from Blackwater Bay.
Nearly 20 rare and endangered species of plants 🪴 and animals make their homes along the bay and its wet prairies, dome swamps and flatwoods.

Located halfway between Perry to the north and Steinhatchee to the south, Keaton Beach is an outpost town with a laidback, relaxing atmosphere. No motels, no fast food. These are prime scalloping waters from mid to late summer, and the area is famous for year-round fishing. We recently bought this property with an old hunting cabin owned by a well known baseball coach. The cabin is currently transformed into a residence. We have 4 RV spots available in the front of the property.. Only an 8 minute drive to the sandy swimming beach of Keaton Beach (see pic above) or 20 min walking distance to Adams Sunset Beach. Stop by on your way to South Florida or up north. We do not have a maximum stay..

We have a nice little RV pad on the back of our coastal home. Situated on a little bayou that opens out into Choctawhatchee Bay. Crab Island is only a 10 minute boat ride away. You would have access to our small dock and there is a neighborhood boat ramp less than one hundred feet away. This is a great place for kayaks, wave runners, and small boats. If you don't have a boat, we can set up any kind of trip you want. We are all licensed captains and own multiple Crab Island businesses. So we can set up charters for you on the following boats:
Sailing trip on a restored 1963 Pearson Ensign. Can accommodate up to 6 people. This is a classic sailboat that is easy to sail and easy to learn to sail.
A restored 1966 Boston Whaler that is perfect for couples looking for a sunset cruise, etc. Can accommodate up to 6 people but it perfect for 2 -4. We can go to Crab Island, look for dolphins or find our own private island beach.
Waverunner tours. We can take you on a guided wave runner tour looking for dolphins and private beaches. You will drive one wave runner while our licensed captain guided you on another one. Insurance does not allow us to rent these out solo but there are many good vendors in the area to do that.
Inshore flats skiff targeting redfish and trout on light spinning gear and fly rods. This boat is best fished with no more than 3 people.

History of our location Count De Galvez awarded a land grant on Garcon Point to Antonio Garzon following his 1781 Siege of Pensacola in consideration of “his good services rendered as an interpreter to the Indians of Pensacola." The grant was held for 35 years before Maria Garzon, who survived husband Antonio, sold the land they called Garzon’s Point to Joseph (Jose) Bonifay.
The land uses were favorable for cattle grazing and turpentining through the 1800s. Many more pioneer families moved into the area and began their own business in the booming industrial opportunities of western Florida. It came to be known as Yellow River Marsh State Buffer Preserve on June 12, 2000, when it was purchased by the state of Florida to protect rare and environmentally sensitive lands, plants and animals.
Through generous donations, Preservation 2000 and the Florida Forever Program, more land was added to protect contiguous habitat of the Garcon Ecosystem.
Today Yellow River Marsh Preserve State Park provides recreational opportunities for hiking and nature study along the Great Florida Birding Trail among rare and endemic plant species and within one of Florida’s oldest multi-cultural frontiers.The preserve is located in Santa Rosa County on Garcon Point, which separates Escambia Bay from Blackwater Bay.
Nearly 20 rare and endangered species of plants 🪴 and animals make their homes along the bay and its wet prairies, dome swamps and flatwoods.

This is the beautiful wild coast of Florida's "Big Bend." Located halfway between Perry to the north and Steinhatchee to the south, Keaton Beach is an outpost town with a laidback, relaxing atmosphere. No motels, no fast food. The wild, natural public beach has a shaded picnic area, restrooms, a boat ramp and a 700-foot fishing pier. These are prime scalloping waters from mid to late summer, and the area is famous for year-round fishing. We recently bought this property with an old hunting cabin owned by a well known baseball coach. The cabin is currently transformed into a residence. We have 4 RV spots available in the front of the property.. Only an 8 minute drive to the sandy swimming beach of Keaton Beach (see pic above) or 20 min walking distance to Adams Sunset Beach. We have a nice little RV pad on the back of our coastal home. Situated on a little bayou that opens out into Choctawhatchee Bay. Crab Island is only a 10 minute boat ride away. You would have access to our small dock and there is a neighborhood boat ramp less than one hundred feet away. This is a great place for kayaks, wave runners, and small boats. If you don't have a boat, we can set up any kind of trip you want. We are all licensed captains and own multiple Crab Island businesses. So we can set up charters for you on the following boats:
Sailing trip on a restored 1963 Pearson Ensign. Can accommodate up to 6 people. This is a classic sailboat that is easy to sail and easy to learn to sail.
A restored 1966 Boston Whaler that is perfect for couples looking for a sunset cruise, etc. Can accommodate up to 6 people but it perfect for 2 -4. We can go to Crab Island, look for dolphins or find our own private island beach.
Waverunner tours. We can take you on a guided wave runner tour looking for dolphins and private beaches. You will drive one wave runner while our licensed captain guided you on another one. Insurance does not allow us to rent these out solo but there are many good vendors in the area to do that.
Inshore flats skiff targeting redfish and trout on light spinning gear and fly rods. This boat is best fished with no more than 3 people.

The neighborhood is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Fort Walton with large oaks and magnolias providing plenty of shade for bike riding and walking. Downtown Fort Walton with its shops and quaint restaurants is only a mile away. Didn't bring a bike, we have 2 you can use.
During the summer, there are fireworks every Wednesday night that are viewable from this spot.

We had a great time at this location. But to be honest we were just sleeping here.
There are some things that might not make it so for others. It is very close to a busy highway, which is very noisy.
While there is a NICE bathhouse, there was no hot water. And there were no window coverings on the double French doors that served as the entrance. It faced a driveway so there was traffic going up and down. So basically you were exposed.
The owner has a wonderful big dog. Sweet as sugar but when the dog came running at me full tilt it was a little unnerving. She was not under her owners control. Plus I had my two smaller dogs on leashes and I was actually afraid of what they might do to the bigger dog.
I asked if he might put his dog up which he wasn’t willing to do.
All that being said it served its purpose

Brian and his wife were fantastic hosts even when a little maintenance popped up… they were quick to deal with it with a calm manner and all is well. The property entrance and exit took some getting used to but the added security being inside of a locked gate was something we enjoyed at night. Will definitely keep this place in mind for the next trip!

This was our first HipCamp stay, but I anticipate it may remain our favorite. Amanda was a perfect hostess and her property is absolutely magical!! The river access is so beautiful, with sand bars and rocks to explore. Just sitting in our RV listening to the wind in the pines was so tranquil. This place has a wonderful, healing energy to it.
We've just recently started our RV life journey, and Amanda's bath house was the best shower we've encountered to date!
We will definitely be back when we're in the area!

Our camping experience on Amanda's property was beyond expectations. Each camp site is situated to provide a feeling of being alone with nature in a beautiful and peaceful setting. And the amenities! The camp kitchen and bath house were convenient and nicely stocked but designed so that we could still pretend that we were "primitive camping." Coldwater Creek is lovely and having the opportunity to camp along it while still having these amenities is really unique.

Sand Between Your Toes was a fantastic place to stay. Even though the owner lives on site, the property felt very private, quiet, and secure. It’s centrally located and closer to the Rosemary Beach end—which we preferred anyway.
While exploring the area, we drove past several RV campgrounds where people were packed in tightly, which made us even more appreciative of our choice. Staying at Sand Between Your Toes was absolutely the right decision.
The driveway entrance is on an incline and a bit narrow, but Brian suggested backing down the road and approaching it at an angle, which worked perfectly—we had no issues at all. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and we would highly recommend it.

I loved tent camping at my site! I ended up at #5, but overall if you’re tent camping definitely go with this site!! It’s easy to find, relatively private, right on the creek, big enough for a tent, 6ft table, and some chairs around the fire pit as well as a hammock with some strings to dry out clothes/towels. Ms. Amanda was so nice and was very attentive and even came to ask if we had misplaced an item. The creek is shallow but absolutely see through and there’s little pods of bass that swim through so fishing is possible. I brought my little dachshund and she loved it as well. There’s spots to park so you’re not lugging your things .5 miles, it’s maybe an 500 yard walk or less to the site from the parking spots. Overall, it was a wonderful place and I would highly recommend!!!!!

Great proximity to Apalachicola and amazing views and sunset from the private dock. The site has good privacy on both sides. The power and water are on the “wrong side” for a back in site. It’s not a far distance but be sure to have a longer water hose and power cord. There is a long hose provided but it isn’t a drinking water hose. The road noise isn’t bad and the area felt safe. There is also a sidewalk within a half a block that goes all the way into town. Also, the side streets off the main road are all very low traffic and walkable (in my case, dog walking). Amanda is very responsive and wants you to have a great experience.

I was traveling the pan handle adventure trail and requested a site and let the host I was in the need of a place to stay that night. She responded quickly. The property is beautiful and the site is scenic. Amenities include bathrooms and showers (which are heated) and a small pavilion with a coffee bar. Everything is very clean and nicely maintained. This was our first Hipcamp experience. It was in a perfect location to visit with our grandson which is close to the Naval Diving School. Ocean is eight minutes away, and a two minute walk to Lake Powell. Restaurants and stores are close also. The RV spot was very nice. This is a back in spot which the whole yard is fenced. They do live in a RV on the lot while building their little home. Brian was very helpful with any questions we had. We stayed six nights and will book again when in area.
