Here's what we did...
Camped on site. Hooked up to fresh and sewer. Made arrangements w/ Eric for a Sunset Cruise on Sunday. Eric and his family (wife and daughters) are great 'salt-o-earth' folks. Easy. Accommodating. Communicative. Its not a remote camp in the Colorado woods, but it is aomewhat private and the folks make their presence scarce. Ask about Crab Isl. Ask about the great public beaches in FWB. Eric and Darlene are life-long residents and can give all the pointers you'd want. The spot is 100' from water. Bring your own boat or kayak. I had arranged for a cruise at sunset with a little extra heap'n helpin of 'romantic', and they delivered! A great down home presentation of goodies, all the stuff for beverages of your choice, and a private spot to watch the sun set over western skies. Our Cap'n Darlene superbly maneuvered into secluded islands and beaches. Go ashore and she'll set up chairs on a secluded beach. Or choose to stay aboard and she will go find the best spot to watch the colors. She is there to please. All in all, great spot to camp with great folks providing a touch and knowledge of what's what. Book'em if you like something a little less noisy and more refined in all the right ways. Great folks!

Wow both my Mother daughter and I feel so blessed that we got the chance to stay at Eric’s spot . Eric and his family are truly fun, kind and so generous - it was a gem to hear tips from someone local born and raised in the area . We felt so blessed to be staying in this peaceful sanctuary far from the hustle and bustle of busy Destin . If you’re looking for a boat trip we highly recommend Erics family boat business- we went with Erics wife a seasoned boat captain on a gorgeous private boat ride where we saw mama and baby dolphins and got to swim in those clear blue waters ! So grateful for this stay and we hope to be back in future ! 10/10!!

This was our second time staying at Eric's spot and it was once again wonderful! Incredibly easy to hook up electric, water, and sewer. He's added a nice outdoor sofa on the Hipcamp side of his property as well as a little fire pit, which he provided wood for. We enjoy strolling down to the dock and sitting on the adirondack chair. Downtown Fort Walton Beach has a few cool coffee shops and eateries which you can walk or bike to if you want to avoid the midday traffic.

We enjoyed our stay. It was so peaceful. A lovely neighborhood for walking. The beach is a short drive. We have a 31ft class c and didn't have any issues parking.
We will definitely come again if we are in the Gulf again

Eric’s spot was everything promised. Very nice man, he even started us off with a bundle of wood incase we wanted an evening fire. The cozy seating area was protected from the wind and a very nice spot for morning coffee!

Do you like to fish? Maybe just play with your water toys? This is your spot! The nearby (quiet) boat ramp with easy access to the bay or sound is a major bonus. Beaches, downtown, shopping all just mins away. Clean and tidy spot with a cozy bench and nice little fire pit. Would definitely book here again.

What a gem! Great central location for all that you want to get out and do. And then return to a quiet, private location to relax. Eric welcomed us upon arrival and was very communicative during our entire stay. His knowledge of the area was impressive!! Our day trip on The Wild (pink boat) to and around Destin (Crab Island) and Fort Walton (private island) was so much fun!! Dinner (twice) at Clemenza’s at Uptown was delish!!! We beached at Beasley Park and biked the neighborhood. Don’t second guess it, book the trip!!

Nothing but good things to say about this spot! Eric is fantastic! Pad was easy to get into, and its pretty much right on the water! The location is bikeable to everything as well which made it very convenient for us! I saw a review about the dock not being accessible, that is not the case. Dock is well maintained and a great little perk! We have dogs as well and while we keep our dogs leashed, we did allow our lab some off leash time to swim, and there were no issues. Will 100% stay at this location again next time we head down there!

We loved this spot! Eric’s communication was prompt, it’s a beautiful area & it was quiet. We had a blast on the dock fishing and watching animals. We definitely plan to come back and stay longer!! We appreciate Eric and his wife for allowing a space like this to be available! It’s perfect!

Eric’s spot was just as described. It was easy to pull in and out with our trailer and get fully hooked up. The site was very level. We loved having full hook ups for those post-beach showers! Eric helped us back into the spot, gave us a quick lay of the land, and offered dining recommendations. The little sitting area with Adirondack chairs was a comfortable spot to enjoy the gulf breeze as the sun set. We highly recommend and hope to be back!

This is a great spot, we really enjoyed it..!! It is very level and spacious, with a view of the water and boat landing. Perfect for accessing Destin and water sports, a Publix nearby and restaurants. We plan to return. Thanks to Eric for sharing the property, he was very detailed and attentive and shared many tips about the area. Be sure to ask about his boat and jet ski trips....

We can’t say enough wonderful things about Eric and his hospitality. He had the site set up for us with Adirondack chairs, umbrella, fire pit, and a small table when we arrived. His communication with us was great prior to our arrival and all throughout our stay. The spot is very clean and is nicely set up with water, 30 amp, and sewer. Eric took us on a 3-hour boat trip all around the area on his restored pink boat which was the highlight of our trip. We slept with the doors open on our Class B, and felt completely safe in the area which was quiet and peaceful. The dock has been refurbished and is a perfect place to relax and unwind. We loved getting to explore Fort Walton Beach on Eric’s recommendations.

Mixed emotions rating because the pictures are deceiving. When I look at the pictures of the dock especially there is a lot of grass, but we were asked not to recreate or allow our dog on the grass near the camper as it is not part of the owners property. The dock was also a large drawing point but it was in disrepair as well so not usable as the ad states. It is a decent fairly level spot to park if you are just looking for that. We did find a lot close by to do, and the owner was very friendly and welcoming, even got us a bundle of fire wood for our arrival.

We stayed on Eric’s property. It was very convenient and easy to find. Great location, right at a boat launch and a short drive from beaches and boardwalk. I would recommend staying there for anyone wanting to stay at that area.

Beautiful spot, great location! Change of plans because of the Hurricane and it turned out to be the highlight of our trip. The dogs couldn’t be happier to swim with us in front of our spot. Eric helped us parked and was a great host. We also booked a charter to Crab Island with him and it was totally worth it! Thanks Eric for your hospitality, we had a great time & thinking of coming back another time.

Perfect location!!
Parking and spot was great. Quiet. We loved that is was close to everything but far away enough from the chaos of Destin traffic. Great close location to multiple beaches, cute downtown area and small dog beach. Stellar calm spot for paddle boarding or kayaking right there. Boat ramp was not a bother at all and quiet all night. Host was helpful and gave privacy. Caught big catfish at night. Great fun!! We would book again!

Booked a last minute Memorial Day weekend stay. Eric reached out immediately and was very communicative about what to expect and how to connect if we had any questions. He was available when we arrived, answered some logistical questions regarding traffic, restaurants , etc. He offered us bikes and use of the dock, and asked if we needed anything. The spot and setup were great; we were right by the boat dock, and enjoyed watching the activity. We even had a great view of the Memorial Day fireworks! Neighborhood was quiet at night. We will definitely stay here again!

I loved camping on Eric’s property. The water views were relaxing. The area where we camped felt pretty private. Full hook up as advertised, for a self contained camper. Just feet away from a boat ramp where you can launch your kayaks and explore the shoreline.
The location is near a beautiful beach, and a nice shopping area. The neighborhood is pretty.
A handout sheet with info about local restaurants would be nice. There was no wifi, so we couldn’t research that easily.
