Long before Blackwater was here, this part of Georgia was the ancient coastline. Today, where that old coastal "trail ridge" meets the St. Marys River, you find a soft white private sandbar along a shallow, clean, refreshing, dark blackwater river surrounded by native woods.

The St. Marys is a freshwater, rain-fed river flowing from the Okefenokee Swamp.

Primitive camping is permitted at designated wooded high grounds in the middle of the property. It is a 5 and 10-minute rugged hike in to the middle ground respectively. The trail remains under development, so please bring close-toed shoes or boots for hiking throughout the property (depending on rainfall, there may be mud and water).
We have two primitive campsites These campsites are first come first serve, they are not assigned when booking.
Our Glamper tent is a 10x12 canvas furnished full size bed with bedding, pillows and enough floor space for two sleeping bags.
The tents are located off a short trial, but rugged 2-minute hike from the parking area. We provide the opportunity to go camping without having to pack the tent.
Closed toed shoes are highly suggested as well as plenty of lighting with batteries or solar charging capability. This is a rugged, fun and serene camping experience.
Located less than 10 mins to Navarre Beach, - 30 mins to Pensacola Beach, - 15 mins to Naval Live Oaks, - 45 mins to Fort Pickens, - 50 mins to NAS Pensacola, - 45 mins to Santa Rosa Island, - 35 mins to Okaloosa Island, - 40 mins to Destin.

Osceola National Forest is 200,000 acres of exploration with your name on it! In the northeastern Floridian forest, pine flatwoods and cypress-hardwood swamps surround, with diverse wildlife abound. In this leafy paradise lives gopher tortoises (they act like gophers, but are tortoises!), alligators, black bears, and the skunk ape, also known as the “stink ape,” which bears an uncanny resemblance to bigfoot. Areas of recreation include Ocean Pond--a fave place for boaters, skiiers, and campers, and Olustee Beach for swimming, fishing, and picnicking. The park is also open to hunters and fishermen with permits. With so much land to explore in this National Forest, we wouldn’t be surprised if bigfoot was hiding in there!

You'll have the camp site all to yourself--we sometimes need to water the garden, but otherwise avoid the camping area when it's occupied. Enjoy a variety of seating areas on our half acre lot full of fruit trees and flowers, or watch the sunset from the hot tub. Camping is easy with washer, dryer, fridge, stove, microwave, dishes, coffee pot, toaster and blender, all in an air-conditioned shed. Don't want to cook inside? Use the propane Jennair grill with gazebo and lights. Clean up is a breeze with our stainless steel triple sink and 4 gal hot water tank.

Blackwater Ranch is a real gem of a property. Lots of activities, plenty of space, and tons of easy access to the river, which is the star of the show. One of the unique features of rivers in this area is their white sand beaches and Blackwater Ranch has some of the best I've seen. The river was low when I visited (drought) but I can tell that even when full it is a fairly shallow and slow moving river with multiple spots that stay shallow due to the way the water deposits sand, making it a great river for younger kids. Even the bugs weren't too bad, which being summer in FL/GA was a welcome surprise. The property is equipped with the necessities for a comfortable experience (water, electricity, pit toilet) but still very primitive and rustic.
I camped one night solo but will certainly be back with a group of friends!

The site was exactly what the ad listed! Very large site with full hook ups including a residential washing machine. There were multiple drying lines with clothes pins to air dry anything needed.
You are essentially right between Mexico Beach and Port St Joe so plenty to see and do. But the best part is being within walking distance to the beach with public access straight to the water!
We will definitely look into staying here again for our next trip to the area!

Vegetable gardens to share, a whole kitchen, washer and dryer, hot tub, games, outdoor shower, and so much more. It’s gated so the kids could run and play safely with lots of places to play hide and seek. Glamping at its best!

I can’t recommend staying here enough. My husband, my daughters, and I spent a week at Joe’s, and I wish we could have stayed for two more- it was the best family vacation ever! The house is set up with everything you need to stay more than comfortably, and the bathroom was like a little spa. Everything was perfectly spotless, supplies were ample, the ac was so nice and cold, and the bed was so comfortable. I can’t say enough about how wonderful the host is. He is one of the nicest and most interesting guys you’ll meet- his hospitality is what made our trip so special to my family. His knowledge of the area, and fishing expertise is invaluable- definitely reach out to him about booking a fishing trip if you stay at his place. 10/10 experience- we were already planning our next trip before we left!

We absolutely adored this spot. Eric was super friendly and very helpful for us to maneuver our 34’ tow trailer. He even saved the (public) spot in front of the rv space so we could arrive and park seamlessly.
Way more privacy than a campground, better views, more residential feel. We took our SUP onto their harbor and into the bay every night for sunsets. Easy paddle.
Bonus: great views of fireworks on the beach, close to Publix, views of the water, and a cute patio and fireplace setup behind the rig.

Will definitely book again! This spot was perfect in so many ways. There was plenty of space for our toy hauler, boat, two vehicles and golf cart. Loved the privacy and walking out to the view of woods which gave it a more private feel. Great location! Beach was very convenient within walking distance straight up the road. We had our golf cart which was great to be able to ride to the beach, Shipwreck Raw Bar, the gas station and Dollar General. Outdoor shower was great for washing off the sand from the beach visit. Outdoor clothes drying rack and picnic table were also great amenities. We have camped at the nearby campgrounds and we love this spot the best! We look forward to planning another trip and reserving this spot again in the future.

The Gulf Stream Beach Camp is a perfect little getaway — quiet, clean, and just a short walk to the beach. The RV spot is level, private, and fully hooked up, and Kelly is an outstanding host who keeps everything in great shape. Loved the fenced yard, ocean breeze, and easy access to Port St. Joe and Mexico Beach. I’d absolutely stay again.

An absolutely amazing spot and the best beach trip we have had with our camper. It was great to be so close to the beach and also so close to 80% of the actual retail/restaurants on the Cape.
There aren't really any downsides to the camping spot itself, but if I was being picky, the orientation puts the morning sun rising full bore onto the site. We have an awning extension shade which helped tremendously. Like I said, it's by no means a deal breaker of any sort, but an added shade option for the morning hours helped us enjoy the time before heading to the beach.
I can definitely see why this spot is so coveted. My wife and I will try our hardest to come back to this spot every time we come down to Cape San Blas.
