Negative tides are putting the Captains on holes that are not usually available during Summer season. If you want to fish and have your own boat we have boat parking. If you want to fish and do not have your own boat - don't worry - we have some excellent captains that we can recommend. Steinhatchee is located in Taylor County Florida along the Gulf of Mexico. Inshore and offshore fishing is year-round. Scallop season is July/July to September. More than 20 springs are located within 45 minutes of Steinhatchee. Too numerous to count are the Florida Wildlife Management areas that are accessible by car and allow for birdwatching and animal siting's of deer and wild boar. Steinhatchee River is a kayaking, fishing and paddle boarding experience. The local restaurants/Marinas are within five minutes of the campground.
