Mahan Farm Camping

This was a beautiful stop! Although my encounters with humans was minimal, the Lindsay was very friendly and ready to help in any way she could. It was super easy to get into the spot (you have ACRES of room to get it right!), and a very clean place. I love horses - grew up with them and miss them. But I know people might be concerned with any smells, and you can put that to rest. This place is really kept clean. I walked throughout the 113 acres with my dogs (OH THEY LOVED IT... places to run [note: not fenced. Make sure you have a solid "come" command!] and play) and came across MAYBE two piles of horse poop way, way, way off the beaten paths... Incredibly beautiful trees, blue skies in the daytime, and the night sky was black velvet with diamonds strewn across. OH MY! Peaceful - the only sound I EVER heard were a few horses whinnying from afar and contented nickers as I walked past others. It was fun to see riders, pet a few friendly horses, and love on the miniature horses. No WiFi, but if you want Wi-Fi while you're out there, you aren't paying attention to the important parts of living and traveling. I will return... and hopefully have more days!

Mahan farm

Site was next to horse barn and was fantastic. Very level. Electric and water hookups were easy. No sewer available but we were only there for one night. Their property is very quiet and beautiful. At least 20-25 horses to watch. Will be going back.

Second stay and just perfect. My rv is self contained so I stayed out in a pasture under huge beautiful oaks. The owners are easily reachable if needed and very accommodating. The horses are wonderful to see. Very peaceful.

The space and nature were beautiful. The horses were amazing sites also. It was peaceful and quiet. The only thing would be to add a sign as to where you expect campers to setup. There are many oaks along the drive, so to say by the oak is hard for first time hipcampers..

This was an amazing overnight stop! So happy we opted for this and not a traditional campground. Horses and great hosts! Try Backwoods Crossing for dinner if you have time.

Gorgeous land! Loved camping hear and being around the animals. Lindsay was very communicative and friendly to make sure we were comfortable and prepared for the cold weather. Only downfall was no sewer hookups and no shower available. Would definately come back!

An exceptional place to stay

This is the best HipCamp I've stayed at so far in Florida. Anywhere on a large field is available for camping and there are plenty of trees to create privacy and provide shade. Its quiet and restful, a beautiful place. Lindsay was super helpful and her directions worked better than relying on GPS - so don't use GPS directions. Highly recommended.

Incredible horse farm with vast fields and beautiful old live oaks, sweet horses and great photo opportunities. Restful, safe place to stay. Hosts were very accommodating. We enjoyed waking up to the sound of whinnies in the morning. We also enjoyed the Red Shed pub down the corner.

Camping with horses! Yes please!

We did 2 nights of primitive camping at Mahan Farm- we saw a bunch of nature and enjoyed morning strolls around the farm with our 2 dogs. It was magical. Brett and Lindsay put a grill, charcoal, and kerosene out for us. We slept under a 100+ yr oak tree. There were dwarf mini horses. Whats not to love :)

Stopped in Tallahassee at Mahan Farms for 1 night with our 40 ft fifth wheel. Everyone was super friendly and helped getting parked. Horses all around, even two mini horses that my little loved to see.

Fantastic place to stay

This working horse farm is such a breath of fresh air! There are so many horses there and they are so well cared for and loved! Brett stopped by as we first pulled in, gave us the overall gist of things and offered help if we needed it. We felt safe and had plenty of space to let our dogs run around. The people who board there as well as work there were so kind and welcoming that we felt like we were part of the community.We would definitely stay there again if we come back through there!

The farm is a beautiful property with sites that put you right in the middle of the activity. You can see the horses, lessons, and day to day farm activities. The sites have water and electric. Brett and Lindsay are very friendly and willing to talk about the amazing work they do. Would definitely stay there again.

Great Camp Location

This was our second visit, and it was just as great as the first visit. Brett and his team ensured we were able to connect our RV and if we were in need of anything. Highly recommend this gorgeous horse farm for an overnight stay in Tallahassee.
