We loved the private site, right on the water! The empty lots on either side provided real privacy. The amenities provided were very much appreciated, especially the outdoor shower, which help limit the amount of sand we and our pup brought into our motorhome. We had the beautiful beach practically to ourselves over our entire three nights. We will definitely be back again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Escape to the Cape RV! It is a beautiful site within feet of the gulf with water views from every window. The pet-friendly beach made it nice to enjoy the sunny days with our dog. It’s only a mile from the general store and 15-20 minutes from restaurants in Port St Joe. We will definitely be back!
We have been all over the country in our motorhome and stayed in many wonderful places. However, nothing truly compares to parking just a few feet from the water, with 100 yards of pristine beach to yourself! This was our second stay at Escape to the Cape, and it will not be our last. A truly breathtaking location!
If you have a class A, bring extensions for your electric and sewer and park facing the water. The view out the windshield is magnificent!

My husband and I love this spot! Our 2nd time and have already booked for next year. Beachfront spot. Not crowded, only a few houses to left and right. Very calming, relaxing spot. Love it!
It was like our own private island for the week. Heaven! That’s all I can say.

Wow! What a special place! Truly beach front camping and so private with an empty lot on each side and only a few houses in the vicinity. The beach is dog-friendly. It’s only a short stretch of beach but if you want access to more beach, you can just walk around the small condo with the sea wall.
A bike path runs along the road so you can bike or walk the short distance to the little town.
If it wasn’t such a long drive from Central Florida, we would camp here at least 3 times a year. We are so spoiled now that we have experienced Escape to the Cape!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Escape to the Cape. Picnic table and outdoor shower there. The nicest thing of all was the location of the site which truly was oceanfront. This site also is in an area of private homes so the beach is not crowded. Truly a wonderful spot!

This FHU RV site is just a few steps from the gulf. The two lots on either side are empty, so there is a luxurious amount of space between the site and the neighboring houses. We had water views from every window!
This is a great camping site situated seconds from the beach. Another plus is that there are no close neighbors (compared to the usual campground layout). Full hookups and wifi also made it a very comfortable stay.

This may be the best beach camping spot ever! This is right on the beach and very private. The sunset views are amazing. It is on 30A but the road noise is hardly noticed. It is my favorite camp spot so far
My family absolutely loved Escape to the Cape site. You are literally 30 ft away from the beach. We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets and gazing at the stars every evening sitting on the board walk. We have already told friends and family about this wonderful site. We look forward to booking again next year.

I loved this RV site! It was not hard to back into and there is plenty of room to pull over to the side of the road and back in. It is beautiful there. Not over crowded and is a great place to destress and relax.

Perfect RV spot!!! This spot is a unicorn. We hated to leave knowing a private spot right on the beach is so rare. We will definitely be back! Great Electric, water, sewer, and WiFi! We love the area and the beach was all to ourselves.
Overall we had a great stay here. We would definitely love to stay again. The question I was asked is: “Would you recommend this site to your friends”?
My response: I would recommend the site to some of my friends, but not to others. Here’s why:
1. The site while very level (we literally backed I with no need to level our trailer) could benefit from more gravel. This would significantly reduce the sand you will have everywhere. We stayed at another “on the beach” location the week before and got almost no sand in our camper and hookups because they had an adequate amount of gravel.
2. Below the shower head is so rusted out that it literally sprays you in the face with a high pressure stream that’s downright dangerous depending on your height. The owners stated they’d have it repaired at the beginning of our 9 night stay, but that didn’t happen. To be fair it was a holiday weekend and they don’t live close.
3. They stated the garbage is picked up twice a week on Saturday and Monday in the welcome message we received. We arrived on Tuesday and the can was overflowing with trash to the point the lid wouldn’t close. Saturday came and went and the trash was still overflowing. They said they have issues with the waste company not picking up. They may want to reconsider the placement of their sign which blocks the view of the trash can holder.
Aside from these nitpicking things….fantastic views, easy access to the beach, semi-private though right off the highway.
A lovely beach escape! We come each year to scallop in the bay, but spending our down time on the beach was a perfect addition to our annual summer tradition. Our kids obviously had a blast and us parents enjoyed the ease of the site. The shower was much needed and appreciated to rinse sand off all our feet before entering the camper. Despite being close to 30E, the road noise was minimal. My favorite treat was viewing the stars at night on the deck - what a beautiful night sky and the most shooting stars I've ever counted. What a fun trip! Oh, and the kayak launch is quite handy to this site for those who want to explore the bay.
Amazing Stay, loved the set up and easy access to low populated beach with private walkway. Highly recommended!!!

Awesome campsite! Absolutely loved it. The only complaint we have is it is booked for the week we want it next year! We will be back.
We loved this special spot on the beach! A breathtaking view and no one on the beach! It felt like "old Flordia" with a quaint coastline. The weather was a bit rainy so we heading into the town of Apalachicola. What a fun place explore! We would definitely come back!
Beautiful section of beach. Shower to rinse of the sand. We had a wonderful time and hope to go back!
