Really enjoyed this spot. We were passing through for a few days and needed to be in between friends that were located in PCB and apalachicola. It’s walking distance from public beach, great food/ Dollar General/Ace Hardware near by and very quiet at night. I mirror what others have said about unevenness of Pad and sewer hookups being a bit high. Probably only challenging for those of us with smaller travel trailers. Having two water supply hookups, 50,30,20 amp electrical hookups and this awesome shed with RV accessories extras, a washing machine, chairs, table, hoses, etc. makes up for any of the small site inconveniences. Can’t wait to stay here in the spring/summer so we can really enjoy the area. We recommend this spot and the host was great, instructions were great and communication was timely. Thanks for a great stay!

Leila’s spot was great. We loved that it was only a block from the beach. The shed storage and laundry machine was helpful- especially because of the humidity and moisture over night. It was hard to get clothing dry without a dryer. (We used a laundromat in town) The black tank hook up was not threaded to secure a connection but it still worked. Red tide was high while we were there.
Overall it was a beautiful spot just steps away from a beautiful dog friendly beach. We loved the location and so did our pets. Would recommend!

Our family loved the proximity to the beach and to the Shipwreck Oyster Bar-walking distance to both. Having access to a washing machine was such a great bonus-saved us from having a bunch of dirty laundry to deal with when we got home from our trip. And having WiFi was great for our student that is enrolled in a summer class. Nice large site. Being a block off the main road and July 4th weekend, it was surprisingly quiet.

Corner paradise one block from the beach. Well maintained, concrete slab with full hook ups (30 & 50 Amp) plus WIFI (great for remote work). Short walk to the beach and a DG store. Make sure you visit the Ship Wreck restaurant, you wont be disappointed. Outdoor shower and washer are available. Easy access in and out. Motion sensor lights for convenience. Very nice location and will definitely stay there again.

Personally we loved it! Short walk to the beach, to shipwreck and a bike ride to store. The site is pretty level but does require some manipulation. Theres 2 water spigots both located at the front of the camper (a 25ft hose should suffice but a 50 would get it done.) Power is located at the rear as well as the septic hook up. Make sure to bring septic hose support so you can fix the slight incline.
Grass perfectly mowed, storage buikding on site made putting stuff out of sight easier and a washing machine to stay ahead of the laundry.
Neighbors are fantastic and it made us feel a little easier knowing they were around.
We highly recommend the site and will absolutely be back soon.

Absolutely, the site is convenient to the beach and restaurant. It's a wonderful community and everyone is really friendly. The wifi works great. If parking your Rv aim for the middle of the driveway so you're closer to level and bring something to elevate your sewer hose. It's perfect for us, Thanks Leila!

Overall we had a great experience! Close to the beach! Wi-Fi was great! Bring extra sewer pipe. The pad is very unlevel on the fence side like 4". They have a 4 by 4 we used. It took a hour to set up. Be sure and eat at killer seafood it was brick and morter before hurricane now food truck but still fantastic.

We love staying at Rum Runner! We've stayed here before and absolutely love the quiet neighborhood, friendly people and close proximity to our favorite beach. Leila installed wi-fi this year, which worked great! We will definitely come back!

I almost hate to leave a great review because this large lot may not be available next time we want it. This is the 2nd time that we have stayed here for a month and we just love being just a block off the beach. You can walk down every night for a sunset. Our 38ft class A just fits, the large washer in the shed is awesome and Palm trees swaying in your residential lot that you share with NO ONE! ❤️

Just a block from the beach! We loved it.
Just be careful where you park on the side of the road to get to the beach, the sand is super soft and you'll get stuck like we did! Had to call a tow truck ($100 out the window 🥴).

We loved the location! Short walk to a beautiful beach. The site itself has some issues. We have a 37ft Class A and didn’t fit on the (broken) concrete pad which made leveling difficult. The sewer hookups were too far back and too high off the ground. Undecided if we’d stay here again; would look for better options first.

Great neighborhood so close to the beach! We enjoyed riding bikes with our kids around the neighborhood and even down to the Memorial Park. Easy, quick bike ride to Dollar General down Americus Ave. off the busy road. We also enjoyed Shipwreck Oyster Bar literally two blocks away. The washer onsite was a nice bonus, and my daughter enjoyed her first experience hanging clothes on the line to dry. The storage shed is a little close to the camper pad but it does offer some extra shade. We were prepared with extra hose after reading reviews on here, so the distance to the water spigot wasn’t a big deal. It was missing the “handles” so we had to turn it on with pliers. Not a big deal for us. The big yard was great for our dog. The walk to the beach was quick and easy, and we did end up purchasing a beach wagon, which we should have done years ago! There were even extra chairs and beach toys in the shed. Leila was quick to respond to all our questions. I would be prepared with all sorts of insect repellent and a fly swatter because the biting flies were an issue both at the beach and the campsite. I think it’s just par for the course for the time of year. It was a great trip, great location, and we would stay there again!

Rum Runner site is very convenient to beach access with just a little walk and cross over the road to the beach. Beach is awesome and very clean and unpopulated. We threw everything in our wagon,no big deal at all
The neighborhood is quiet and safe and the site is just two blocks over and one block behind The Shipwreck Oyster Bar.
We rode our bikes to dinner two nights of our stay. The site is paved but the pavement is a bit uneven so bring extra leveling blocks. The property is nicely grassed. We have a 35' TT with three slides and it fit perfectly and we were able to put out the awnings out as well with no space issues. The sewer and electric is on one side near the back and the water is near the front on both sides. It has 50/30/120 hookups. An outdoor shower and clothesline for drying towels. The water hookup on the drivers side had broken handle so we couldn't turn it on - we just used the one on the other side. The site is located btwn Port St Joe and Mexico Beach and is convenient to everything you need. The beach is dog friendly so our pups enjoyed their time as well. It was a perfect place to stay for our trip to the beach!
p.s. there is a small storage building w a washer and extra beach supplies if needed.

Great location, just one block to the beach. Sewer and electric on the back end of the driveway and will be directly behind your rig. Might need the black hose cradle to slope your hose as the sewer hook up is a bit elevated. Metal shed to store you beach chairs and what not. Sturdy clothes line with lots of room for beach towels and blankets. Friendly neighborhood!

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Rum Runner on Leila’s land. The distance to the beach was about a block from the site, and it was an easy walk to the ocean. The lot was clean and had enough space to set up yard games or other activities. It would have been nice to have an outdoor table with chairs when the weather was nice to sit outside. It was extremely hot, so not having an outdoor table didn’t impact our stay. All the hook ups were easily accessible.
We would definitely plan to stay again if we ever end up in the area.

We had a great time! The location is good, 1 block from the beach and very quiet. The only thing we didn't like is there was NO shade anywhere! None! We were baking in the sun all day till the end of the day when the sun moved over in the early evening! So bring cover! You'll need it.

Very nice area, 1 city block, cross the road and you’re walking out onto the beach. Love this area, no major condos or hotels. A lot of beach with less people. The site is nice, little yard barn could set back more but it does provide a washer if needed so I’m sure water connection and sewer plays a part in that. Our fifth wheel is 31’6” bumper to king box, no issues. Power at the back, sewer at the back (you will most likely need two 10’ sections), water towards the front.
Will definitely plan on staying here again if it’s available next year.

My girlfriend and I traveled from Georgia to stay at the Rum Runner Site. Leila was a fantastic host, everything was as described in the original listing, and she was very prompt to respond to any questions I had! The beach is just a two blocks straight up the road from the camper and was extremely easy to access. The beach was also super friendly for our dog, and many others who had dogs out on the beach. The shipwreck raw bar was also within walking distance (about five blocks), and was delicious! There is also a food truck area about half a mile away by the Exxon Mobile gas station that we frequented for ice cream and good sea food too. Overall, we would recommend Leila’s hospitality and this site to everyone. We hope to be back soon!

We actually didn't get to take our trip due to tornados in our community on the day we were supposed to leave. I can't say enough about Leila who without hesitation gave us a refund. Prior to that she
was very quick to respond to my questions. I'm looking forward to planning another trip at this location.

Wonderful and spacious site! The shed was great to keep our double stroller in for the kids! Cell service was spotty at times, couldn't get service inside the camper but we could outside, never had that happen before. We think the tin shed may have played a factor. Neighborhood was great for walking our dog around. It was quiet, we never heard any of the other neighbors. This is the first time we have stayed somewhere besides a state park, we were unsure if we would like it but this is way better than a state park or RV park! Thank you for the opportunity to stay on your lot!

This property was the perfect spot! Huge yard, full hook ups, use of a nice size shed was a big bonus, outdoor shower was great for us and for our pups! Quiet neighborhood and only 1 block from the Gulf of Mexico!!
The concrete pad was plenty big enough for our camper and our outdoor set up.
Leila was a great host, quick to respond. We would highly recommend this property!

We really enjoyed our time at Rum Runner. The site was so spacious and extremely accommodating! The view of the ocean and the sunset on the ocean was beautiful. We took our dog and we were able to take him to the beach with us. Nice view of really nice homes. There was plenty of walking and golfcarting. Store and restaurant real close. We plan on going back!

Unfortunately there was a miscommunication on dates & when we got there it was already occupied. What we saw it would have been perfect. Communicated with host about refund & sent hipcamp message but as of yet I haven't heard anything back.

Leila’s Rum Runner site was extremely family friendly. A spacious grass yard for children to play. Comes with all amenities you could need while camping out. Very spacious concrete pad to park and relax in your yard chair and cookout. Comes with all hookups which is extremely convenient for comfort. You can see the ocean from your view, with only a 3 min walk to be in the sand and swimming the ocean. She was extremely accommodating with any questions, and answers promptly. Thank you Leila for a wonderful experience with our family!

It is very close to the beach. Theocratic is quite and safe. I met several neighbors and they were all very nice!
I wanted to extend my stay and add another night. Leila answered my message quickly and I booked another night. Response was quick and easy.
I have a small teardrop trailer. The water is at the front of the concrete pad near the road. The electrical and sewer is on the opposite end. I should have brought a 50 foot hose so I could hook to both of those and the sewer at the same time. However, I did not and could not. If I had had a longer water hose, I could have parked closer to the back and had all three hooked up. I'm new to this (and had read the description & thought I was overly prepared), but my water hose was not long enough for me to hook to all three. This did not affect my stay. I will stay here again and I have ready purchased a longer hose for my next visit.
Cons: I think the outside shower had the plumbing capped off. I tried to use it to wash sand off, but at a glance, it did not looked hooked up. However, there is a small spigot near it that I used instead.
