A pet friendly, off leash, dark skies 6 acre slice of paradise in North Florida on the banks of the Suwannee River. In 1990 the State of Florida banned logging within 1,000 feet of the Suwannee River so Southeast Timberlands sold off it's holdings and we were lucky enough to purchase 6 acres and 444 feet of riverfront. A designated "Pristine Scenic Waterway" with very steep banks, the Suwannee is one of the few"wild" rivers left in the United States and can rise over 30 feet to flood stage almost overnight; yet due to its unique topography we can access it no matter how high or low the water. The Forest Service has bought up the surrounding lots, creating a 10 mile Conservation corridor supporting the National Scenic Florida Trail, it's clearly marked footpaths and natural attractions. To that end, we have left the old growth upland forest the way we found it. The campsite is a natural feature as is the Zen deck and canoe launch, a swale draining the ridge. The campsite is level, the lane to the river slopes gently dropping in elevation 20 feet over 1,000 in making it easy for able bodied guests to navigate their way to the white sugar sand beach. We want to share our retreat with those who are looking for a real wilderness experience in an exclusive private setting. A Waiver of Liability is required by all guests as the Wilderness is an inherently dangerous place. We only offer one accommodation per weekend with a maximum of 8 people, because we only have 1 toilet, so our guests can have the seclusion they desire and be free to enjoy the natural wonder of the woodland experience in any manner they choose.

Pet-friendly,exclusive 1 reservation site, we want first time campers to feel safe and comfortable in our wilderness with electricity and running hot water.   Bring your Tents, hammocks or sleeping bags (and electric blankets if it is cold) , to our acre private campsite. Our campsite offers an outdoor bathroom facility with an enclosed flush toilet, sink and hot water shower, a picnic table and a fire pit with log seating.  A large charcoal grill with utensils is provided but bring your own charcoal.  Our large screened platform room has a ceiling fan, lights, electric outlets, a table with 4 chairs,  a hammock, a kitty perch and room for a queen-size air mattress,  The Veranda, a covered outdoor living area perfect in the event of inclement weather, has a ceiling fan over a table and 4 chairs, a wood burning fireplace, wicker love seat, 2 Adirondack chairs and child-size rocking chair, and the outdoor kitchen offers a fully functional, hot water,  sink and food prep area.  A 42 gallon covered garbage pail is provided but you must pack your trash out with you when you go. Our beautiful 6-acre river retreat is adjacent to thousands of acres of  Conservation Easement and hiking trails on the banks of the Suwannee River and one of the few "wild" rivers in the United States.A three-minute walk down a broad, shaded, gently sloping path takes you to the beach and banks of the Suwannee River, with clearly marked orange blazes outlining the Florida National Scenic Trail and a 1/2 mile Scenic Loop to one of the few waterfalls in Florida.  There is direct river access all year long for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, biking, bird watching and fishing on site, with live music at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park, folk festivals at the Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center and Big Shoals Class III whitewater rapids all within a 15-minute drive. Go on eco-adventures, dine al fresco at the riverside gazebo or just spend the day lazing on the zen deck reading a good book watching the river float by.  A community picnic area with covered pavilion is accessible by car or golf cart 2 minutes away. and your privacy is guaranteed by the deeply wooded grounds and exclusivity is ensured as there is a one group per site policy. Families with young children, people over 25,  2 large or 3 small dog maximum and cats are welcome.  No gasoline powered ATV or dirt bikes.

Our two acre private, pet, friendly off leash, dark skies level campsite comes with 30 and 50 amp hookups. potable water, dump station, flush toilet, sink and hot water shower, a picnic table and a fire pit with log seating. Charcoal grills and Tiki Torches are provided but bring your own charcoal and refill oil. The screened platform has a ceiling fan, lights, outlets, a table with 4 chairs, a hammock and a kitty perch, The Veranda, our covered outdoor living area, is great for inclement weather, has a table and 4 chairs, lighted ceiling fan, a wood-burning fireplace, wicker love seat, 2 Adirondack chairs and child-size rocking chair. The outdoor kitchen area offers a stainless steel basin running hot water sink, stainless steel prep area, outlets for your appliances, a charcoal barbecue grill and utensils. Hands down our favorite family camping spot! Janet is an incredible host and Jerry is incredibly welcoming and helpful. We love the space and all the amenities. Our kids always have a great time, and our pup is always happy here! We can’t wait for another visit. ❤️

Janet was so easy to work with! This spot has everything you need and Janet and Jerry made everything all ready with firewood and all! The river is a nice short walk and we really enjoyed fishing and playing in the water. We absolutely loved this spot, we felt so secluded and safe. Our young boys and dogs had so much fun running around. The horseshoes were so fun and the sleeping porch was amazing to have the extra sleeping space. Hope we can have the chance to stay longer and explore more of the beautiful Suwannee River next time!

We really loved our time camping here. I did it solo and with my family of three young daughters, wife and two little dogs. I found that it had everything we needed and I enjoyed the solitude and beauty of the land. I highly recommend it.

Janet and her property caretaker Jerry were amazing and super hospitable. I would highly reccomend this site to anyone looking for relaxation and fun. Plenty of hiking trails, river views, and nature. Close to a dozen swimming springs to explore. Our family will be back. 💜

This is the best Hipcamp experience I have had. A secluded boondock spot alongside the majestic Suwanee River and next to the Florida Trail. Beautiful scenery and wonderful hiking trail without having to leave your site.

The property itself is filled with magic. It is set next to the Florida Trail and the Suwannee River. The endless trails and nature not only sets it apart, but makes this campground unique. The amenities that are included in the site are well and above everything you need for camping. The covered patio is massive and has a microwave, fridge, grill, flattop and just about anything you need. My wife and two boys loved this place and we will be back :)

Absolutely wonderful stay! We went with our kids and puppy. Even with the rain, our stay was comfortable and fun. This was our second time there and won't be our last! Janet is always a wonderful host and Jerry checked on us daily.

What a great stay! Very secluded but only 10-25 minutes away if you forget a necessity. Space was clean and host Janet was very welcoming: We loved sitting around the fire ring and hanging out under the canopy with the fires. We visited during new moon and the stars were absolutely incredible!I loved that we could clamp with some comforts like a toilet and hot water but feel isolated like we were the only ones around!

Great spot! We felt secluded and like we had plenty of privacy while feeling safe the whole time. Such a great blend of roughing it while having the basic necessities. The disappearing creek, waterfall, and where it all comes out into the Suwannee are worth a trip alone. It’s nice being able to enjoy the bluffs well above the river or have multiple access points down to the waters edge. Plenty of flora and fauna as well. We came across deer, raccoons, opossums, black racers, millions of frogs, wild persimmon, lions mane, chicken of the woods, and more without having to leave the trail. We will be back!

Me and my pup had SO much fun Glamping last weekend! Janet is a great hostess and Jerry made sure I had everything I needed (including things I forgot to bring). I spent the majority of time at the G Spot (gazebo) on the river! Watching the river, the sun go down, doing my yoga and listening to music in this paradise. The weather was amazing! We enjoyed a fire in the outside fireplace each night while we watched the moon come up. EXACTLY what I needed after a week of anxiety and turmoil! Reset my soul!

What an awesome camping spot! We LOVED letting our pup roam freely—and our kids had an excellent time. “Best trip ever!” Jerry was an excellent help, too; friendly, accommodating, welcoming. It truly was a trip to remember! NOTE: while the site was quite pest-free, we did experience a ton of ticks (mainly on our pup) through the woods. Prepare yourself! We WILL be back!

My boyfriend and I had a great time camping. Janet was a great host and Jerry gave us a tour of the property and checked on us daily to make sure we had everything we needed. The property was amazing with access to launch our kayaks and a miles of hiking trails adjacent to the property. We camped in august, so having power for our fans was a huge plus. A cold shower after a hot day was definitely welcomed. We kayaked and hiked the trails near the campsite. We didn’t see a single person, with the exception of Jerry, the entire stay. The screened in porch and covered patio area were great places to spend the evening relaxing. We will definitely be back!!

Private location for campers needing electric hookup. They provide outdoor shower and bathroom, grill.. For extra 25, they will provide, outside sink, microwave, hotplate. The Suwannee River was way too low to use the canoe launch. You could use it to put your kayaks in, but not realistic to get them or yourself out at this location. Upon the advice of the hosts, we did purchase tick repellent. Our dogs had the Seresto collars already. I did find 2 ticks on myself. We did kayak from the Suwannee River canoe outpost around 7 miles from the camp. It's $2 per kayak.

Phenomenal camping experience! The campsite is remote and safe and even has nice touches like outdoor fireplace with comfy seating and an outdoor camp kitchen that includes microwave, fridge and coffee maker. My dog and I set up a tent and enjoyed the peaceful night breezes. We hiked many shaded miles thru property and adjoining state land and my pup loved swimming in the Suwannee River. Jan is friendly and welcoming. Great place for families or a girl's group trip as it is one group at a time. Bring the pups they love the freedom to explore.

First time "glamping" and definitely worth it! Even though it was a cold, rainy weekend we stayed dry and had an amazing time thanks to the woodstove, pole barn, and screened porch. Janet was super communicative and Jerry made sure we had plenty of wood and anything else we needed. Amazing hiking along the Suwanee, really a magical place. Thanks again for everything!

Great site with incredibly kind and generous hosts! Our group tent camped and enjoyed all the amenities of the site including the fireplace, bathroom, and mini kitchen setup. Janet and Jerry made sure we had everything we needed and even gave us stuff to make smores

We had a perfect weekend at Janet’s property. Jerry was available with anything that we needed. The site is gorgeous and has everything you need. Our two pups loved being off leash and exploring with us. The outdoor area with the fireplace was utilized non stop. We would have breakfast by the fire each morning, even in 90+ degree weather. We slept in the screen room and really did not have any issues with bugs as long as we weren’t in there with bright lights on at night. This getaway is exactly what we needed and there is so much to explore on the property. We will come back soon, maybe close to late fall and this time we want to bring friends so we can introduce them to this peaceful awesome property. Thank you Janet and Jerry for being so kind and accommodating.

First off let me just say Janet the host is SPECTACULAR. This was our maiden voyage with our RV so I had a bit of anxiety but Janet made sure everything went smoothly! Super secluded site (which was exactly what we wanted)

This private and very quiet oasis on the river is an outdoorsy persons heaven! We brought a golf cart and explored tons of kept trails and country roads. We also took our paddle boards on the water which was refreshing. Lots of catfish but no gators (thank God!) The host and neighbor are amazing and extremely accommodating and extremely quick to respond if you need anything. We LOVED our stay and would totally go back.

We had an amazing weekend!! We came for the weekend for couples weekend to have a few days to relax. The campsite has everything you need and very comfortable. It is very private and beautiful views and hike. The owner Janet was great and made our weekend even better. We will definitely be coming back and probably bring the kids next trip 😁

We had a blast. I brought my dog and he was in heaven. The weather was cold and raining but since the property had plenty of rain protection and fire place/fire pit, it didn’t spoil our fun. We slept in the screened in room and used the outlets for electric blankets. We’ll be back again!

Such a fun site. Access to amenities so you don't have to rough it while still being close to beautiful nature trails. You can get what you want out of it - whether that's hiking/fishing/activities or just relaxing by the fire all day. Brought my two year old and she had a blast.

Six of us spent a weekend camping on Janet's land which is perfect for our Tab clamshell and a few tents. Covered areas really came in handy as it rained a bit. Fireplace that is under cover was terrific during the rainstorm. We stayed cozy and dry. The camp site was private and quiet. It is perfect for a small family or friends gathering. Dog friendly. The area surrounding the camp was a surprise with wonderful, marked hiking trails leading to a enchanting waterfall. Not something you get to see often in Florida. We will be back!

Beyond your typical tent camping

Janet is a great host, providing everything you could need for an elevated camping experience. Two options for a camp fire, some starter wood, and a lovely basket with s'mores were a nice touch. The main covered area with sitting areas, cooking and prep area plus running hot water for cleanup, so convenient! The tiki torches helped with the mosquitoes, and the screened hangout area was perfect. On top of all that, multiple access points to the river for fishing, paddling, and relaxing were fantastic. Plus there are miles and miles of trails to explore and really enjoy the area. Overall extremely enjoyable and highly recommended!

Hidden Gem Along the Upper Suwannee

This was our second stay at the adjacent sites that make up Suwannee River Glamping. Our first stay was at the G-Spot (Ginny's Gazebo), which was a cozy, romantic, and semi-primitive tent site right on the river. That trip was so great that we returned with friends and rented this larger RV and glamping area that is set back a short distance from the river. Our RV camper was able to utilize the hook-ups, while the tent campers used the on-site amenities. The bathroom area was clean and in good repair and contained a real toilet, sink, and shower with hot water. The pole barn was set up with a camp sink, table and chairs, electric griddle, coffee maker, toaster oven, tiny fridge, grill, fireplace, tiki torches, and more. We also brought an extension cord to run power out to our tent from one of the multiple outlets. We had plenty of room and privacy all weekend, plus lots of nature to explore. During the day we enjoyed hiking along the Florida Trail, checking out the creek, and scrambling down to reach the beach. Back at camp, the big fire ring was perfect for when it got chilly at night. During the planning stage, Janet was so easy to work with, and she and Jerry were both very helpful on-site. They both go out of their way to communicate as needed and to make sure you enjoy your stay. We felt very appreciative for hosts like this who share such wonderful properties with us Hipcampers!
