1100 acres of gorgeous natural land at the headwaters of the Medina River. Crystal clear and clean spring feed water. Fourth-generation family owners. Remote camping. Very private with plenty of varied terrain for hiking swimming, tubing, biking or just hanging out in a hammock enjoying the breeze and peace and quiet. About 2 miles as a crow flies from Lost Maples State Park. You drive through a 13,000-acre ranch to get to us. We are at the end of a dead-end road with one way in and one way out. NO FISHING As our topo map shows we have a wide variety of terrain ranging from steep cliffs with huge views to shady canyons. The river cuts through the middle of the place and is surrounded by four hills that each have their unique characteristics ranging from flat oak-covered to rocky steep ridges. I guarantee you will find beauty all around. We do have a couple of fun areas to try your 4-wheel drive out. Please dont make your own....stay on trails. There are plenty of places to swim. When the Ladder is reserved, you may not swim there. Please be respectful. We have 1.5 miles of both sides of the river so plenty of places to swim. It varies a lot in depth and width over the ranch. Every camp spot has access to all the swimming holes except the ladder when it is booked. The main swimming holes are-- 1. Below the Green Cabin 2. With a huge focus on community and culture, Paradise has tons of space for people to come together and enjoy the company and also areas to wander off and find a quiet lakeside spot to relax. You'll also be able to catch one of the best breathtaking sunsets on the lake! The wildlife we have on the property is amazing! I have deer that sleep in my front yard, opossums, 600 bird species, and my favorite… the armadillos! We offer Kayaking on the property for a fee. We have a beautiful Hammock Garden free for guests to kick back and relax. Texoma Water Taxi is a text away to give guests a ride anywhere on the lake including restaurants. Rock-N A Ranch is roughly 20 minutes away and offers horseback riding. The Cabins and Campsites are within walking distance from each other but far enough away to create that illusion of privacy. We do have a neighborhood close by but you can’t see or hear them due to the woods.  In my travels, I try to bring back something I’ve seen or learned to help improve the guest experience and environment. You’ll notice little touches of Asia, Mexico, and even Hill Country Texas! We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service and treat every guest like family. We’re always a text away! You’ll see us out and about on our golf carts. If you ever need anything just holler (: Check-in time is at 3 pm. Our staff works really hard to make sure everything is perfect for your stay and we can’t guarantee it will be if you arrive before then. Parking, we work really hard to keep our property beautiful. 1100 acres of gorgeous natural land at the headwaters of the Medina River. Crystal clear and clean spring feed water. Fourth-generation family owners. Remote camping. Very private with plenty of varied terrain for hiking swimming, tubing, biking or just hanging out in a hammock enjoying the breeze and peace and quiet. About 2 miles as a crow flies from Lost Maples State Park. You drive through a 13,000-acre ranch to get to us. We are at the end of a dead-end road with one way in and one way out. NO FISHING As our topo map shows we have a wide variety of terrain ranging from steep cliffs with huge views to shady canyons. The river cuts through the middle of the place and is surrounded by four hills that each have their unique characteristics ranging from flat oak-covered to rocky steep ridges. I guarantee you will find beauty all around. We do have a couple of fun areas to try your 4-wheel drive out. Please dont make your own....stay on trails. There are plenty of places to swim. When the Ladder is reserved, you may not swim there. Please be respectful. We have 1.5 miles of both sides of the river so plenty of places to swim. It varies a lot in depth and width over the ranch. Every camp spot has access to all the swimming holes except the ladder when it is booked. The main swimming holes are-- 1. Below the Green Cabin 2. Paradise on Lake Texoma (formerly Paradise Cove) is a beautiful, secluded commercial campground located in the "Big Mineral Arm'' of Lake Texoma. Built in the 80's by the Corps of Engineers, Paradise has been a mainstay of the lake for many years. Recently, the current management team are working to grow Paradise into something special. With a huge focus on community and culture, Paradise has tons of space for people to come together and enjoy the company and also areas to wander off and find a quiet lakeside spot to relax. You'll also be able to catch one of the best breathtaking sunsets on the lake! The wildlife we have on the property is amazing! I have deer that sleep in my front yard, opossums, 600 bird species, and my favorite… the armadillos! We offer Kayaking on the property for a fee. We have a beautiful Hammock Garden free for guests to kick back and relax. Texoma Water Taxi is a text away to give guests a ride anywhere on the lake including restaurants. Rock-N A Ranch is roughly 20 minutes away and offers horseback riding. The Cabins and Campsites are within walking distance from each other but far enough away to create that illusion of privacy. We do have a neighborhood close by but you can’t see or hear them due to the woods.  In my travels, I try to bring back something I’ve seen or learned to help improve the guest experience and environment. You’ll notice little touches of Asia, Mexico, and even Hill Country Texas! We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service and treat every guest like family. We’re always a text away! You’ll see us out and about on our golf carts. If you ever need anything just holler (: Check-in time is at 3 pm. Our staff works really hard to make sure everything is perfect for your stay and we can’t guarantee it will be if you arrive before then. Parking, we work really hard to keep our property beautiful. we really enjoyed our two days stayed at Mike's place (temple of the bird). we reached right at the thanksgiving eve and the place was buzzing. food, music, campfire...it was such a cool experience at the heart of terlingua ghost town. If you like mingling with a crowd and make new friends, you are going to enjoy this place. Mike is an awesome host and helped with everything that we asked for. he replied to all my messages promptly and the decked out kitchen was a real plus. We rented the sleeping bunks which were affordable and cozy. terlingua itself is pretty cool with the dark sky and you can see all the stars. one thing to note, it is not exactly close to big bend, and having a car with high clearance, like a 4x4, really helps to move around. i hope i can go back just to stay for a few days and chill. thanks Mike and keep flippin'

I absolutely loved this camper! Private location, very well stocked, and the little deck with the comfy furniture was perfect first thing in the morning. I have watched deer while sipping coffee, lazed on the couch under the umbrella enjoying a nice breeze, and cooled my feet in the river in the late morning. It was the relaxation I needed with just the right amount of space. Alright TLDR is over so here is the breakdown. Pros: ~VERY WELL STOCKED for the most part (dishes, tea pots, towels, washcloths, even a outside sink for room to wash dishes, ect.) ~ gas stove (just remember to turn it on) ~ fantastic distance from the river ~ beautiful views (especially nighttime for stargazing) ~ Comfy furniture! Legit wanted to nap outside in good breeze. ~ Privacy! I could only see one cabin unless I went to the main camp grounds. ~ Public area's are also well stocked and taken care of Cons: ~Only one pot to cook on. There was a griddle as well but I didn't test it. Absolutely would have grilled outside if there wasn't a burn ban. ~ The path to the restrooms wasn't well lit but you're out in nature get a headlamp. ~ One of the showers uses the hooked latch that kept slipping if the door was bumped. There was twine to help hold it in place but please someone get that fixed with a more secure latch.

I stayed over the weekend with a friend (M27, M32) TTOTB was a fantastic vibe- home comforts in a desert setting. The host, Mike- went out of his way to make sure we had a great time both at camp as well as some great bars in the nearby town. Amazing stars at night, and most weeks there is usually something going on for those who like a social vibe. We stayed in the container, no complaints at all. Will be coming back one day!

Heavily wooded acreage with goats, horses and donkeys. There is no light pollution and if there are no clouds you can see the stars very clearly. We have a ton of wild birds. Owls and Cara Cara are common. There are deer, feral hog and two resident packs of coyote. We also have ring tail cats, which are nocturnal and rare. The best seasons are October 1st thru the end of April. It gets VERY hot and dry in the summer and can just be miserable. We have a shared bathroom and an outdoor shower and tub. If you are a single woman or a family with children, we don't take other bookings while you are visiting the farm. You will have the place to yourselves. The only exception being my family and I, if we are working or staying over at the farm. We should have a second bunkhouse up and running by fall of 2025. If you are tent camping, you may camp anywhere on the property but there are certain spaces that may make curious horses your roomies.

I bought the property in 1986 and began restoring and rebuilding. In 2019 I retired here from NYC and began exploring possibilities for sustainable tourism. West Texas is one of the best places in the United States to view the Milky Way (both Big Bend parks are certified as International Dark Sky parks). We use shielded LED lighting around buildings and pathways to cut down on light pollution and optimize stargazing opportunities for our astrotourists. And we are applying for dark sky certification from the Texan By Nature program. Bear in mind that this is the desert, in all its rugged glory. There are critters, rocks, plants with thorns, slippery slopes, sink holes, rusted artifacts and broken glass from decades long past. Bring sturdy shoes and a flashlight, and stay on the paths! Our intention is to provide remote, low-density accommodation for folks who are respectful of the land.

Beautiful land in the Chihuahua desert north of the Christmas mountains and south of the famous 9 point Mesa. Just north of Mexico and 30 min from Big Bend National park and The Terlingua ghostown . West Texas. Off grid small house running on solar power and rain water catchment. Very cozy. Plenty of land for camping also, discuss with Jim for pricing, if interested. Mr. Keaveny built the house himself over a 10 year period. Very private, although Mr. Keaveny lives on the property in his Jayco most of the time, and sometimes a camping site is rented ----however always giving the house lots of space. Great place for long term rental, see discounts.
