Swim, kayak, or canoe...but there’s no better way to beat the legendary Texas heat than by grabbing an inner tube and enjoying a calm, steady float along a river known for an abundance of fossils and its wildlife. Bring your own tubes, kayaks and canoes, we are currently replenishing our inventory.
Or perhaps you prefer to fish the shady tree-lined banks. Either way, you'll see a variety of birds while you relax on or beside the cool waters of the Colorado River.
We're kid and dog friendly (leashes mandatory) and we love musicians. Bring an instrument and join us for an impromptu jam session in our special events room or around the campfire. Cook dinner on our BBQ pit. Firewood is available onsite
A few rules...
1. Check in is before sunset. We ask that all Hipcampers wait at gate for staff to guide you to your location for safety reasons. Contact us if you arrive ahead of schedule.
2. No wondering by the upper level cabins (these are private property). Showers are behind these cabins. Please respect staff spaces.
3. If you have an extra vehicle, please park it with your other vehicle.
4. If you have a 3rd extra vehicle, let us know and we will direct you where to park it.
5. Please be courteous of other campers space and road access.
6. All kids are free. If your kids are 17 and under do not add them or it will charge.
7. If you have an impairment please let us know before booking so that we can ensure a space is ready and suitable for you.
8. All dogs must be on leash. Please clean up your dogs Poop.

Come stay in our sweet semi off grid cabin just between Austin and Marble Falls Tx. Near beautiful Lake Travis.
Upon arrival you can park in the flat dirt driveway in front of the boat. The trail up to the cabin begins right there.
There’s a short somewhat steep hike from the parking area by the road up to the cabin. Again the trail is steep and approximately 30 yards long. Keep this in mind because your belongings will have to be carried up the trail. If you have 4x4 you can drive up top closer to the cabin. This is a glamping experience and you will need sleeping pads, bags and pillows. We do not provide bedding. The cabin sleeps 4. 2 on the futon and 2 (preferably kids sized humans) up in the loft. There is electricity but no running water, so bring water. There a/c heat and a mini fridge/freezer. Also a sweet vintage hifi system with a good vinyl collection. It also had Bluetooth capability.
Turkey Bend recreation area on Lake Travis it’s just a couple of miles down the road. Marble Falls and Austin are both about the same distance away approximately 17 miles. Hidden Falls adventure Park is approximately 7 miles away. Lago Vista Texas is the closest city with restaurants and gas stations and grocery stores. This property is on a dirt road and light pollution in minimal so this is a great place to stargaze! The parking area is also dirt and somewhat uneven. The place was great! The gated area was huge, plenty of room for the dogs to play fetch and chase each other around. Airstream has everything you need. Hosts were super accommodating, let us borrow salt and butter which we had forgotten. We would definitely stay here again!

This place is like an entire homey camping neighborhood renting out the entire camping neighborhood experience. The grounds were beautiful, the staff was so friendly and helpful, and it's situated right near tons of river activities. I stayed in a tiny home with my 5 year old, but we're trying the teepees next time!

Weekend Trip to Magical Lakefront Retreat Property
Wonderfully relaxing. It's a short drive from Austin, but you feel miles away. The minute we stepped foot on Travis's land, we felt calm and content. The blue loft was clean, fun, and funky. Kiddo took the loft bed since my creaky knees couldn't handle the ladder. The downstairs futon is good for sleeping, so we both had our own spaces. The AC was wonderfully cool which was necessary in the heat of the summer. Mornings and evenings were cool in the shade. It was nice to pick one of the various picnic spots scattered about to have breakfast tacos and coffee and in the morning. We brought our paddleboards, but it was much too windy to go on an adventure. Instead, we tied them up to the floating boathouse and and watched a few boats and jet skis having fun while rotating from swimming about to floating with the waves. The covered deck of the floating boathouse it so nice and shady and the perfect spot to get out of the sun for a bit. We had dinner at some of the awesome places that Travis recommended-- The Lighthouse on the Lake & Angel's Ice House. While out & about we got breakfast and snack supplies. All good. It was the perfect getaway!

Ultimate dog family getaway! Completely fenced in yard, no holes. My boys (dogs) loved the sound of nature out there and enjoyed the freedom of just roaming around. This is our second visit on this property and we will definitely be back again. The hosts are wonderful and easy to communicate with. The property is lovely and easy to navigate. We can’t wait to come back! Thank y’all so much!

Weekend Trip to Calm Water Cove

This glamping site had all the essentials and more! Really appreciated being within easy access to Lampasas (15min) and Colorado Bend State Park (20 min). I would highly recommend Daniel's site to anyone wanting a couple or family getaway

Weekend Trip to Sound Ground
My gal friend and I had a great time at Sound Garden. We had the campground all to ourselves which made for lots of music playing and exploring the little trails throughout the grounds. 🎶🌱
Agarita was very comfortable, especially since it was a step up from the usual tent/air mattress situation. Very clean and cozy.
Loved our visits from the ground animals, Rita and Cinnamon!
Could have easily wandered over to Blanco State Park for some water relief, but we had enough activities and the weather was beautiful, so we stayed put.
Kasey was a great host and the campground (including the outhouse) was super well kept.
Bring bug spray!

1 night at 13 Acres Meditation Retreat
I went with a very good friend and we enjoyed the natural habitat and quiet atmosphere. Everyone was nice and of the main set!

Weekend Trip to Happy Horse Camp & RV Getaway
Host was great. The place is a unique gem for both tent and housed camping. Really enjoyed my stay in one of the sheltered units The Camping Palace. Has electricity and a small fridge/microwave.

Group trip
The tent was perfect for our family of 4! We only stayed one night, so we didn't need much room. He offered an extra tent for the kids if we needed extra room (which we didn't). He had a heater and portable AC which was very helpful at night to sleep comfortably. Bed, cots, and sheets were sturdy and comfortable. We enjoyed the hammock and the grill. He provided firewood, and I also loved that there was heavy duty hose with a sprayer attachment close by for washing.
He met us at the site when we arrived and explained how everything worked. The composting toilet was on site, but the was a pretty good sized rip in the covering, so not very private. But he told us about the actual bathroom just a few minutes walk away, so that was nice to use. There's also very long walking trails in the back that my daughter loved! We found a few ponds and also a windmill.
Overall, I would recommend this spot for anyone who wants to enjoy a camping experience without all the setup. It was only 15 minutes away from an HEB, so grabbing dinner supplies was super convenient. We would definitely return!

Weekend Trip to Twisted Oaks...
It was great, cozy and very accommodating. The area is filled with buttercups, green grass and lots of character. John is an awesome host, friendly and always around if you need him. It's a beautiful , rustic and very peaceful place to camp. The Airstream was great and I highly recommend a stay

Weekend Trip to Urban Hideout
This is truly a gem. When we looked into staying a few nights in Austin, even small airbnbs were unaffordable. The sweet little trailer was enough for 2. The bed was extremely comfortable. The yard with the humongous live oak was magnificent.

Weekend Trip to The Outpost
This place was so great in every way - the deck was perfect for coffee, a cocktail, and a dip in the hot tub. Jessica was so responsive and helpful, the trail on the property was awesome and we explored all over. There was so much attention to detail here and it’s an outstanding place to stay. So eclectic. Still close to everything, but sitting on the deck was quiet and full of nature. Even enjoyed peeping some chicks with the chickens that were roaming around 🥰
