We happily welcome pets, provided they are kept on a leash. Each individual tent site location has a trashcan, Loo, portable camping toilet/tent, grill for campfires and cooking and picnic table. We also have 100 acres with hiking trails for you to explore.
Situated on-site are over 100 undeveloped acres boasting numerous hiking trails, ideal for mountain biking or a serene walk amidst abundant wildlife, including trophy Whitetail Deer, Turkey, Armadillos, Hawks, and other captivating wild birds. Revel in the breathtaking Hill Country sunsets and immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring star-filled nights. We have 2 miniature cows , 2 baby miniature cows and a Donkey kept in fenced area near our Oak Grove for those of you who enjoy seeing farm animals.

Come stay in our sweet semi off grid cabin just between Austin and Marble Falls Tx. Near beautiful Lake Travis.
There’s a short somewhat steep hike from the parking area by the road up to the cabin. Again the trail is steep and approximately 30 yards long. Keep this in mind because your belongings will have to be carried up the trail. If you have 4x4 you can drive up top closer to the cabin. This is a glamping experience and you will need sleeping pads, bags and pillows. We do not provide bedding. The cabin sleeps 4. 2 on the futon and 2 (preferably kids sized humans) up in the loft. There is electricity but no running water, so bring water. There a/c heat and a mini fridge/freezer. Also a sweet vintage hifi system with a good vinyl collection.
Turkey Bend recreation area on Lake Travis it’s just a couple of miles down the road. Marble Falls and Austin are both about the same distance away approximately 17 miles. Hidden Falls adventure Park is approximately 7 miles away. Lago Vista Texas is the closest city with restaurants and gas stations and grocery stores. This property is on a dirt road and light pollution in minimal so this is a great place to stargaze! The parking area is also dirt and somewhat uneven. There is 2 docks to swim, fish, or just to relax on. One of the docks has underwater fishing lights too. Come out and sit on the docks for your morning sunrise!
The cabins are some of the last old fishing camps from the 1950's that have been remodeled. They are very up to date and come fully furnished. Very spacious and comfortable for a nice relaxing stay. The house is very spacious. So much room to spread out and not be cramped up. Large patio with a table and chairs, gas BBQ grill, very nice large round fire pit, boat ramp if you bring your boat, and fully equipped kitchen.

Soooo many trees and such a beautiful property! We loved our stay and will definitely be back. The glamping set up is just perfect! Bed is super comfortable, camping cookware provided, electricity and unlimited firewood is a huge plus! Let’s not forget the coffee station and convenient location of the loo for all your bathroom needs. We had such a peaceful and relaxing time around the campfire, under the stars and moon. Exactly what we needed, a wonderful reset! The host is so friendly and responds quickly. Don’t hesitate and book this site, you will be in camping heaven!

Lovely place to stay with a lovely view. Lodging was clean and well kept, the host was kind and accommodating, and check out was simple. Our stay was quiet and peaceful, enjoying good views with coffee in the morning and stargazing with wine at night. We had a great time staying at Daniel's glamping site, about 15 miles from the entry to Colorado bend State park. The campsite and tent were clean and tidy and secluded in a cedar grove, with solar lights and a fire pit (wood included) and grill for cooking. There was a couple hundred yards walk to a full bathroom with a shower and wifi. An extra tent with cots and bedding was also available for the kids, and was setup prior to arrival. Overall a wonderful time, perfect for a short weekend at the park, and would absolutely stay again. Thanks Danny!

Weekend Trip to North Star Cove
Unique glamping experience, beautifully located with exceptional peace a quite. Facilities are clean, and kept to high standards. Nearby Llano is a welcoming city with historical attractions, also several of the Texas State Parks that are unique and worth visiting. Star gazing was amazing!

3 nights at North Star Cove
We absolutely loved the dome! It was so private and serene. Beautiful views of the sunset in the evening and deer passing by in the morning. The dome itself was clean, well designed, and well appointed (down to the airfryer and adjustable desk with a monitor!). The bed was really comfortable with no shortage of linens and the A/C was nice an powerful! It was a very short drive from Llano, close to Enchanted Rock, and just far enough from Austin to feel like a true getaway. Hands-down an amazing experience!

Our stay in the safari tent was really nice. Exactly as pictured and described! The setup was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed for a camping trip without the hassle of packing heavy gear. The bathroom with the powered rooftop was such a great bonus and made the experience even better. We loved the balance of being close to nature while still having all the little comforts covered.

Sites 1, 5, and 7 have the most privacy, with long trails leading off the path to more remote sites (stay with the paths to their end - you'll be glad you did). Site 4 also has a long winding path, but strangely winds up near Site 8 and not far from the trail.
Site 3 is picturesque, under a large single oak close to the trail. Sites 2, 6 and 8 are also just off the trail but with decent surrounding trees for hammocks.
The Windmill trail is an easy path, so for a more challenging hike you can do some of the trails on the East side of the park and take the Gorman-Windmill connection trail over.

One of my favorite TX state parks! We camped down by the river, and the sites are roomy. There is a picnic table by each site so you don’t have to carry your camping tables down to the walk-in sites. You park up top by the toilets and walk down to the river sites. There are other walk-in sites that require more of a trek as well as regular campsites. Always full when we visit regardless the season. Fun drive into the park, too! If you have to arrive after 10pm, just call and get the gate code.

We camped Wind Mill, where the backpack hike in was about 1.25 miles. The terrain hiking in was smooth in some spots and rocky in others. An easy hike in unless you carry a wagon for extra stuff or you have small kids. We saw parents having to carry their wee ones into camp as they arrived. The campsites were spacious and you have privacy. The required burn had just been performed 2 weeks prior, so alot of the ground had been charred over. No water or toilets, so be careful where you squat. The skies were dark, so we saw lots of stars. We had a good time overall.

Deer will walk right through camp grounds. Critters at night can be loud. Definitely make the hike to Gorman Falls. Steep climb down and back up, but worth it!

Lots of little waterfalls all through this state park and the campsites have some trail heads right next to them. Great facilities. Some campsites had covered areas and others didn't so it's something to look out for.

Colorado Bend is quite possibly one of the most unique and spectacular State Parks in all of Texas. I was shocked when I heard we had waterfalls here! The trail to Gorman Falls is somewhat tough at the end, so be prepared (we went and got rained on, made the end extra tough). Completely worth it, we did the hike twice with camera gear to get photos. I cannot recommend this park enough! Go after a good rain to see the falls really flowing.

Very nice if you can get a site near the gravel bar. It is impacted so choose your site carefully so you don't end up camping in a mud puddle! Shade, river, and an easy hike in all make this very worthwhile.
No potable water, No fires are allowed, No toilets, but pets are allowed as long as they are on leash. (Potable water and toilets are in the main campground.)

We had an amazing time at Colorado Bend. We camped with another family and the sites were perfect. The kids loved the swimming hole, we hiked a few of the shorter trails and also took the guided hike to Gorman Falls. It was absolutely gorgeous... but was challenging with a two year old in tow. We plan on visiting again in the spring!

We stayed in the walk-in sites, close to the river. We got there on a Sunday afternoon about 2:00 and had the pick of the park. We chose site #3 and loved it. Nestled under a tree, with views of the river. We had shade, picnic table, access to water and the compost toilets up the stairs. There are no showers, but there is an outdoor shower closeby. We chose to just do "the essentials" and I washed my hair standing beside the tent. Firewood and ice is sold at the headquarters, cash only, until 5:30. There are a ton of trails, but we only had time for one and that was Gorman Falls. Really pretty at the falls. Definitely recommend this park.

Gorgeous park situated on the river with trails leading to swimming holes and falls. Group site 48 is wonderfully shaded and right on the water... a perfect spot to introduce camping to your baby!

It's worth noting that this State Park has no shower facilities, so go in with that in mind. That being said, this park has miles and miles of backcountry trails to hike and guided cave tours as well. You can rent a kayak, go fishing, go for a swim in the shallow and slow-moving Colorado river, or just hang out with friends by your campsite. Tent sites are not quite drive-up, although you can park pretty close (within 100 yards generally)

The hike out to the primitive site is a gentle one, as others have said, but it is long enough to remove you from the sights and sounds of the drive-up campsites. Being located right on the river is a blessing and curse. We went over 4th of July weekend and it was hot as hell. Having the river right next to us was nice for cooling down and filtering water, saving us the need to hike it in with us. The flipside is that mosquitos and riverside bugs flocked to any source of light after the sun went down and the humidity was high.
On the whole, I still enjoyed myself a lot and this park has so many great things to offer that it's worth the trouble. Just go in ready to sweat.

Primitive camp sites are slightly under a mile from the trailhead, and you must pack in all gear and water. The trail is shady and flat, so it's an easy hike for beginner back packers. Peeks of the river can be seen all along the trail, and the tail connects to other park trails that will take you to Gorman Falls. Camp sites are private and far enough apart that you will not see other campers (though you may hear them, so hopefully they are courteous).

Absolutely love this state park and Gorman Falls is truly a gem of the Texas Hill Country. There are several campgrounds to pick from in the state park camping area- I suggest asking for Spot 22 if it's available. It's situated under a huge Cedar tree that provides some much needed shade on warmer days in the park. Plus it has easy access to the Colorado River!

On a hot summer day, Spicewood Springs are a comfortable and beautiful destination within the park. It's a short walk from the parking lot to the large cool clear spring to splash around in or you can walk upstream through a network of shallow pools and falls.

This camping area is about one mile away from the main campground next to the visitor center. The area is beautiful and our group were the only group in the entire area. You do have to backpack in, however the hike in is very easy and worth it to be away from the crowds.
