Enjoy our newly renovated communal Pavillion which offers access to 4 different kind of grills, a brick pizza oven, a propane firepit table, games, a microwave, coffee maker, and a fridge stocked with drinks to purchase. Our bathroom facility is located right nearby and now features permanent indoor lighting. Well water is available from the sink located near the bathroom.
Please remember, for the safety and comfort of our animals and guests, unsupervised interactions with our animals are not permitted. All animal interactions must be scheduled and supervised by our experienced staff. Also please remember that while our farm is a total of 30 acres, only about 1/3 of that is available for open use by campers, the rest house our beautiful horses and other animals.
Our farm is situated just a short drive from local attractions. We are 10 miles from the Historic Georgetown Square, 11.2 miles from the serene Blue Hole, and 38 miles from the hustle and bustle of downtown Austin. Authorized paid guests only. No, overnight non authorized visitors (strictly enforced). Not suitable for very young children. Please include your child in your count. Campfires in designated area only with permission (burn ban sometimes). Bring firewood.
Community vibe 'round here; everyone is expected to be quiet and respectful of one another and clean up after themselves "leave no trace" style. Six night maximum stay.
Bring a tent and gear needed to be comfortable. 2 private hot outdoor showers, rustic kitchen and 2 charming flush restrooms included. Wood fired sauna available. Visitors are expected to clean up after themselves especially in the kitchen, showers, restroom and, of course, your campsite. Trash and recycle containers are around or, better yet, pack it out!
We are a 2 acre compound on a secret and secluded little street 5 miles due South of the capitol of TX and even closer (2.5) to the very hip SoCo area (Continental Club, Jo's Coffee, Guero's Taco Bar, El Mercado and lots more). I have 3 cats, 11 chickens, 2 little donkeys and sweet 4 mini goats here at my little and funky 'farmette' right on Williamson Creek (sometimes flowing and not really swimmable) and next to a huge wooded greenbelt with a quiet and unused nature trail. This is not a KOA or a state park. This is a home hostel/campground. It's kind of rustic and we like it that way. You may see a roach, ant or cricket and you may also see a deer, fox or coyote. We are busy and not always able to visit for long. Lots of remodeling and flood related cleanup chaos here but also lots of pretty and secluded nature. Short walk to bus stop and historic Sagebrush HonkyTonk and Austin Bergstrom Airport is 9 easy highway miles away. Rustic outdoor shower/kitchen/privy. BYOTent. No wild or excessive drinking//partying here please and please remember: no smoking. WE NOW HAVE A COVERED PING-PONG PLAYING AREA !

Street parking. Camping is a very short walk from parking lot. We have carts to tote your gear if needed. Sorry, this campground is not set up to be able to park next to your site. We do not supply towels, toiletries, tents or bedding.
Camp fire in designated fire pits only with approval. BYO Firewood. NO GENERATORS OR RECORDED MUSIC. Quiet time: 9PM-9AM. Please be mindful and respectful of your neighbors.

McDonald Farm sits in the historic farming community of Jonah, TX between Georgetown and Taylor on scenic Highway 29. McDonald Farm is named after the patriarch of the family, J.H. Mcdonald, who first acquired the property in 1911. The farm sits on the bank of the San Gabriel River and features a lush canopy of huge pecan trees, sprawling corn fields, prairie, and forest.
We are a working farm! We primarily grow corn, but we also have livestock on the property. During daytime hours, you will likely see a variety of farm chores being completed. We offer a self-serve farm stand for our customers with fresh eggs, jelly and even pasture raised chicken - all produced on the farm.
We are only 7 miles from the Georgetown, TX historical district and square. Some say it’s the most beautiful town square in all of Texas. Enjoy shopping, dining, and festivals!
There is road noise. Highway 29 can be busy at times, despite being a two-lane road. Quiet hours are after 10 pm Sunday - Thursday and midnight Friday and Saturday.
Access to our river site is included in your camping fee. This secluded hike-to (~ 1-2 minute walk) site is peaceful with limestone cliff views and no visible homes or signs of civilization. The trail head is accessed by a dirt road that winds around our corn field and into the woods, and can be accessed by any vehicle in normal weather conditions. We will provide warning/refunds if the river road becomes 4x4 only. Fishing is allowed with a valid Texas fishing license. There is no overnight camping on the San Gabriel River. All camping is at the main farm area and campers are able to come and go from the river site as they please (day or night!).

3. If you have an extra vehicle, please park it with your other vehicle.
4. If you have a 3rd extra vehicle, let us know and we will direct you where to park it.
5. Please be courteous of other campers space and road access.
6. All kids are free. If your kids are 17 and under do not add them or it will charge.
7. If you have an impairment please let us know before booking so that we can ensure a space is ready and suitable for you.

The April 8, 2024, Solar Eclipse was an AMAZING Experience with OVER 200 Guests on the Ranch to View the Eclipse! Everything went Extremely WELL Without A Hitch! Thank You Dave for bringing your 4 Telescopes and Screen to View the Eclipse! Several others brought their Telescopes and Fancy Cameras! Thank all of you who shared your Telescopes!
The Ranch has OPENED UP More Camping Roads to make more room for More Tent Camping! Used allot of them during the Solar Eclipse! Of Course You Can Take More Rocks OUT! "KNOCK YOURSELF OUT" (LOL) PUT ROCKS STACKED IN A PILE ON NORTH END OF LAKE and Bill and Kaz will pickup the Pile. (Thank You in Advance!) NO MUDDING with 4X4 Vehicles because leaves BIG Ruts in the Mud and messes up the Lake Environment! Keep the Lake area beautiful!
Kaz always had a DREAM to help kids with Life Skills & Mentor in God’s Principles because she had Christian Mentors growing up! They were always there for her through her life and kept her focused down the right path and stayed out of trouble and learned a tremendous amount from them! Bill her husband supports her and they raised 7 children together and have 10 grandkids. Kaz father was Asperger's Autistic and from 5 years old started showing Kaz hands on learning skills that are still instilled in her today! She found this to be a Valuable Lesson from her Dad. These methods and skills through the years working with her own children and other children through the years with different organizations confirm to be very beneficial and encouraging for the children growing up. Bill and Kaz have shared equally through all they’re projects during they’re 40 years of marriage. They’re Jack Of All Trades, Artists, Shown in Art Shows, Remodeled Homes, Churches, Work on the Ranch Together, and Etc. They are able to teach others how to do things that can benefit kids till they graduate and have a better understanding of what they want to do in their lives as an adult and PLUS have the mentoring to guide them through life.
The Ranch has its main Mission to work with youth but is open to Renting the Ranch House that Sleeps 1 to 20 guests, and RV/5th Wheeled Campers Camp Sites and Tent Camping for them to Enjoy the Marvels that God has Created and Lot's to Experience, Explore, and Observe!
The Ranch is PERFECT for Hosting: Weddings, Special Events, Retreats, Family Reunions, Youth Activities, Church Activities, Boy/Girl Scouts, Boys/Girls Club, RV Camper Clubs, and Etc. to accommodate whatever you need for the special essentials you would like to have provided for your special event!
The Fishers of Men Ranch (Name) is Biblical and was Given to Kaz by the Lord 4 years before finding the Ranch. You see that the Lord had something Special here for Bill and Kaz to do for others Long Before they purchased the Ranch the LORD had His PLAN for Bill and Kaz. They have owned the Ranch since, July 2016.

The camp area is 9 secluded, fenced and wooded acres laced with all-dirt flat biking and walking trails on our property. We encourage you to bring your bicycles along. The bird watching is great!

Tent camp site close to the river can accommodate up to two tents. Water and electric close by. Outside shower and toilet at the laundry shed at the top of the bank. The river decks are shared with other residents and visitors. Kayaks, paddleboards, and 2 canoes are available for rent. You can fish, swim (at your own risk), grill and chill. You'll see other canoes and kayaks floating the Colorado River. Please ask before hanging hammocks on the deck (depends on other guests using deck).

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Amazing Camping Experience!
We absolutely loved our stay at Brown Chicken Brown Cow Ranch! Chad and Michelle are incredible hosts who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They are so kind, friendly, and helpful, and you can tell they genuinely care about making sure their guests have a great experience.
One of the highlights of our trip was getting to go up and feed the cows with our three boys! It was such a special experience for our family and made our stay even more memorable. ❤️
If you're looking for a wonderful place to camp with a welcoming atmosphere and amazing hosts, we highly recommend Brown Chicken Brown Cow Ranch! We made some great memories here and are already looking forward to coming back. Thank you, Chad and Michelle, for such a fantastic experience! 🐄🏕️

We had a wonderful time camping at 3232. There were only a couple of bumps along the way. The site was well maintained although we ended up at K. The space was plenty for us and our doggo. The only negative we had was the drive got congested some from people parking in it. the drive is tight. This made it difficult to get to the site with our vehicle most of the time, but we worked our way around it. Just be mindful and move slower so you can avoid accidental damage to your own vehicle. We will be back for sure. Loved the time here.

This property is incredible. I felt so secure and at peace here. As a solo female camper safety is a huge deal and I slept soundly on this land. The camp hosts are the sweetest couple and welcomed me in with warm smiles and fun stories. The camp sites had everything I needed for comfort, from hand made fire pits and chairs and tables to cooking utensils, sinks with fresh water and outdoor restrooms that provided privacy and comfort without sacrificing the outdoorsy feel. All of the sites were perfectly dispersed for privacy. And the outdoor shower was pure magic. There’s something healing about showering under the stars and I had the hardest time leaving. If you’re looking for an easy camping trip to connect with nature, stay here, it was absolutely incredible and I can’t wait to come back.

My husband and I camped here with our 1 and 3 year old. We absolutely loved it. Our site was private and the perfect space for our boys to explore and have fun. Sheri and Johnnie were the nicest people and so welcoming. Their property is beautiful. We are already planning our next trip back.

We had a great two nights at the Redbud campsite. There was a good amount of privacy and being surrounded by tall bamboo and other native trees. Kasey (host) was helpful and responsive and offers a great camping opportunity minutes from the bug city.

We had such a great experience at Katrina’s place. The site is easy to access, quiet, clean and in a great location. Her listing was accurate and clear and Katrina was such an attentive and kind host. The amenities (dish washing area, dining area, fire pit and chair, composting toilet) truly set this place apart and are very mindfully stocked with things that made our stay easy and convenient. You can tell she cares for her property and we very much enjoyed our stay! Highly recommend!
