Spring Break 2023
The time we spent here, specifically site 3, was amazing to say the least. RV site 3 is in the center of the RV sites, shaded, near the showers and restrooms which was an added bonus. The camp host Andrea was very helpful, ensured we had everything we needed and checked in on us during our stay which was great. Our kids enjoyed the river(it was a bit low but that was expected), we got to swim and fish. We met some great campers while we were there—we will definitely be back

The place was amazing! The space was cozy, the surrounding environment was quiet and peaceful, and the people who checked me in were just incredibly nice. Everything I needed was provided for me, and they were able to accomodate any requests I had.

Perfect "boutique" Hipcamp
Absolutely perfect place! Boulderdash is the Hipcamp equivalent of a boutique hotel—it's beautiful, thoughtfully designed, has everything you need, the facilities are immaculate, and you've got the luxury of full hookups, but without the crowding and noise of a huge RV place. The view is TO DIE FOR! Can't wait to come back!

Tent Site 4
We had the best time at Boulderdash! A front was blowing in when we arrived, which made the heated bathroom even better. Lynn, Carol-Anne and Andrea were all amazing. We enjoyed evening walks on the riverbed and watching all the deer and ducks wander around. It was quiet, serene and close to everything. The drive to Hill Country Natural Area was less than 30 minutes for an easy hike to a great view. All around an excellent experience.

We were late getting there and didn't call to let them know.... And they were there waiting for us to greet us, and we're vary kind. You can tell that they really care about the place, and it is a lot better maintained then the state parks.

We were incredibly impressed with the environment that Carol-Ann & Lyn created. The amenities at Boulderdash are so well maintained (bathrooms, electric hookups, sitting areas). You can tell they’ve put a lot of thought into creating a top-notch experience for guests. They are very clear with their rules. This led to a great environment with respectful campers.
We can’t wait to come back!

Riverside Tent Site 2
Cute spot along the Medina River
We absolutely loved this spot!! We stayed down at site 2 along what would normally have been the water line, but with the drought we’ve been having there was very little water (which we expected). That said, even with no water we still enjoyed ourselves thoroughly, since the temps were mild and the breeze was plentiful. Enjoyed hiking the dry riverbed at sunset. Stars were plentiful at night, with very little light to interfere.
The communal kitchen space was a real perk, we had running water only steps away from camp. We tend to be fairly self-sufficient so we never used any of the other amenities (bathroom/shower), but it was nice to know they were there if needed. Loved all the solar lights scattered about the property! Firewood is sold on property which is a real convenience. Really enjoyed the complimentary deer corn and birdseed, saw a good many deer wandering around, and 4 ducks that seem like permanent residents.
We can’t wait to come back when the river is full, this spot will be even more amazing with plentiful water to swim in. We’ll be back for sure!!

Riverside Tent Site 2
This camp site is very well maintained and super convenient. There is toilet and hot shower and they are super clean.
All camp areas can access water and electricity, which made it a lot easier.
The view next to river is also very night during sunset. The only missing part is there isn’t that much water in the river during Oct.

Tent Site 4
Campsite #4 is very private, but we ended up upgrading to Site #2 by the river which was surrounded by beautiful huge cypress trees. Lots of shade and space to bring the vehicle right up to the site for easy setup and takedown. Firepits have grills on them which we gladly took advantage of by grilling burgers!
Lovely property owned and ran by lovely people. Excited to go back!

RV Site 2
We had a very scenic and tranquil stay here. We fed the deer and enjoyed every minute of our time here. We would definitely recommend Boulderdash to anyone wanting to camp in this area.

Camping on this property was like a little slice of heaven. Owners and host were so friendly and helpful. If you ever want to get away and not be in a crowded camp ground, this is your place. We will definitely be a returning guest.

Boulderdash Cabin
Carol-anne's cabin was great! The cabin was clean with plenty of clean towels and all the stuff we needed for the weekend. The A/C was a huge plus given the 100+ weather. Access to the river is easy although the water level was low. Our dogs still loved the water. We also enjoyed the campfire and used the grill for burgers.

The people that had rented a riverside spot didn’t show up so they let me upgrade for free. They were very friendly and accommodating, and the spot was very nice. Would highly recommend for those looking for a relaxing time by the river.

This is a great place to camp! Love that the water is right here since it was in the 100s during our trip. The grounds are well maintained. The river was gorgeous. The owners are very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. Loved that there are 2 bathrooms with showers and also a water station next to our campsite. My kids loved feeding the baby ducks. We will definitely be back

Perfect Family Camp spot.
Wonderful site for camping. Hosts were great communicators. The site has an outdoor sink and counter as well as electricity to charge up your devices. The river was perfect for the kids to play in all day. We loved it and will definitely be back.

We couldn’t have asked for a better first camping experience! The hosts were great and checked on us both nights! River was low making it perfect wading height for my toddler. Even my 16 year old dog had a good time! If you want an outdoor experience with great amenities like fire pits, showers, bathrooms, and an on-site necessity store with ice and wood, this is the place! We will definitely come back and hopefully when the river is higher!

We enjoyed our stay at Boulderdash #2 and the camp hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The weather was nice and the RV pad we stayed on was fully equipped with everything we needed. The camp is situated at the foothills of the Medina river above the lake and the views were satisfying. We were made to feel at home by the camp hosts and our kid enjoyed playing with the hosts kids. The time spent at Boulderdash #2 was well worth it and is a short drive into Bandera, the Cowboy capital of the world where dining and shopping are abundant but not overkill. A city park in Bandera had horse rides that gave my kid a chance to be a Cowboy for a few minutes. Will come again.

Great weekend camp spot!
This was such a great spot for a weekend getaway! The owners were really helpful and communicative before our arrival and the manager, Andrea was so nice and accommodating. The spot itself has plenty of room in a beautiful wooded area. We got to see a giant porcupine in a tree and some deer (and the local geese and duck), which was really fun. There’s a paved path down to the river and then you walk over some smooth rocks to get to the water. It was absolutely beautiful and just high enough to be able to swim. We set our chairs up in the water and relaxed for the day. Our two dogs were very happy there too. We’ll definitely be back!
