This 12.4 acres of wildlife on the Colorado River is full of so much natural beauty! We're Located In Smithville Tx Home Of Hope Floats! 5 mins from downtown! Plenty of stores if needed! Roundtop And Lagrange Tx home of the antique shows (15-25 mins) Sherwood Forest Fair (25mins) Beautiful Historic Bastrop (12mins) 🚨PSA Please Be Advised🚨 This Is The Country Where Folks Do Hunt And Shoot!! Although Your Completely Safe, You MAY Or May NOT Hear Gun Shots!! If You Have A FurBaby That Is Panicked And Stressed From Fireworks Popping And/Or Gunfire ( AS I DO ) It May Be Best 2 Leave Them Home,, To Prevent Any Uncomfortable Anxieties That May Occur IF there happens to be gun shots. PLEASE NOTE (TP) CAN BE PURCHASED BUT IS NO LONGER PROVIDED AS WELL AS TOWEL BUNDLES. 🚨🚨 We Can Not Control Mother Nature Guys! 🚨🚨 If There Has Been Excessive And Continuous Rainfall Travis Co. WILL Open The Gates On Us Little Guys Down River! (which makes for the BEST fishing BTW #MonsterCats) But This Will Inevitably Flush The River Stirring Up The Sandy Bottom Which Usually Takes 2-3 Days To Clear Out. When that happens the Beautiful SandBar Is NonExistant As The Rising waters Cover it. This doesn't happen with A Down Pour Here And There As Stated It Would Have To Be Heavy And Consistant Fall For Days For This To Happen And Does Rarely Occur But We Have Recently Had A Rare Season With Hurricane Baryl barreling through Our Parts Of Texas That campers weren't so happy about so I just want to note it here as something to keep in mind!!! Hipcamp now offers a weather insurance that you may want to add to your booking just Incase Mother Nature decides to smack us around a bit. PLEASE BE MINDFUL THE PRIVATE DOCK IS THE RIVERRAT SHACK BNB GUESTS' RIVER ACCESS!! Please be respectful and courteous to All Guests and their campsite's and individual spaces!! 🙏 📢 PSA 📢 Reading The Shower Instructions Is Best Done B4 Entering The Shower!! Always turn the hot on 1st and do not add any cold until it's All The Way HOT 🥵 We No Longer Have Cows Grazing!! 📣Attention Campervan's 📣 A Campervan is a type of RV And RVs Are Only Allowed @ Campsite 3 As To Not Block The River Views From Other Camper's. If You Have A Campervan And Want To Be @ A Bank Site.... You'll Need To Get Permissions From The Host 1st, B4 Booking!! 🙏 This Can Be Accommodated But Will Have To Be Ironed Out Ahead Of Time!

finding solitude and nature (tent)
We had a nice time but there are a few things worth mentioning as I appreciate an honest review myself. First, we wish we could have been told about the water conditions prior to arriving as the conditions prevented us from enjoying the things we booked the trip for. A friendly boater stopped by when we arrived and said Austin had been releasing water which was causing a lot of muck along the banks, especially at this property and they thought it would have been nice if the host would have cleared that out for their guests. The muck was from the bank to about 20ft out and had a layer of green on top and seaweed below the surface. This didn't make the idea of swimming very appealing and a little frightening. Fishing was impossible because if you wanted to cast far enough you needed a weight but they weight would make your hook sink so when you reeled in you caught all the seaweed below the surface, even with a weedless lure. We were able to get our paddleboard out but it was exhausting and almost couldn't get back to shore. Lastly, I'm a rockhounder and was looking forward to exploring the banks and a little snorkeling. This wasn't possible unfortunately either with the conditions present at the site. We were able to find a public boat ramp where we could enjoy these things but it would have been nice to stay on site as we intended, especially for the hefty price ($157 for two nts). The hosts were responsive, it was a beautiful property and much needed trip away form it all.

We loved our time tent camping here! Very accommodating and the flushable toilet and running shower was a huge plus

We had a fun short little getaway for one night only. Loved how small the campgrounds were, with only 3 or 4 nicely shaded sites available. So perfect if you don’t want to camp with big crowds. Bathrooms were clean and a nice upgrade from other camping facilities - flushing toilets and hot water showers! Lots of space for our family to toss the frisbee and kick around the soccer ball. My kiddo especially loved fishing from the banks and reading a book in the hammock. Only thing I would recommend to campers visiting is to also bring closed toed shoes as there were lots of ants around. Nature, go figure lol. Bridget was a very communicative and friendly host. Thanks for the stay! We will be back with friends!

Serene river space and great host!!
My sister and I had such a wonderful time, Bridget was incredible helpful and kind. Communication was top notch and we appreciated all of the amenities so much. We had fun taking the kayaks out on the river too! The bathhouse was super clean and we loved how small and private the space was, but that we still had space from the other campers. The property and river were just beautiful! We lucked out with gorgeous, cool weather and even though we only stayed one night, it was such a great getaway. We can’t wait to bring our families back for a longer stay! Thank you, Bridget!

We celebrated my son's birthday here camping on the river. The kids had an awesome time camping, fishing, and playing around in the river. Would definitely do it again!
