The feeling of peace is about 1 mile off the road. Pulling into Apple Cove you'll see we've cleared areas for tents and small van style RVs. There is an individual fire pit for each camper, a small rock bottom creek runs through the 15 acres for a nice, relaxing view of the woods. The kids and I set up a swing set, and a spot by the creek to play and splash. Now, New York is a 420 friendly state. Enjoy yourself but please be respectful of others

This is a very laid back camp so come enjoy a camp fire down by the the river and chill. If you are feeling not so chill, you can walk over to the white water rafting tour company a few hundred feet up the road from us.
Our camp sits on 32 acres of mountain and trails. You also have access to a public rail trail that runs through our property and follows the river.
Things to note: This is a brand new camp! We are are off grid and operate on solar. We offer fresh potable water from a newly drilled modern well and spigot which only runs on a solar panel during daylight hours. There is a new construction communal outhouse and a separate fresh water sink for washing hands, dishes etc. We ask that you are respectful of the provided facilities so other campers can enjoy a clean and relaxing vacay.

Please note: We ask for photo ID. Once we receive your photo ID via text we will provide exact directions to our property. Please plan to check in no later than 4:30pm as we are not available for later check ins unless we agree to meet you.
We host NYS Police along with local police/sheriff deputies here through our organization Hearts in Hand Horsemanship LLC. Don't be surprised if you see a NYS trooper or police unit parked up in the field near the horses.
All fires must be completely out unless you are physically with your fire. We supply 5 gallons of water and more is available to drink, wash dishes and put your fire out. Please respect our rules. Fire safety is necessary to keep everything safe here for all of us. Thank you for understanding.
Here in the mountains we can experience very cold nights. We supply a small pile of firewood for a small fire at no charge. If you like, you can gather more dead wood (not live trees) in our forests. Please bring lots of clothes and layers. Stay warm!
Smoking: We are primarily a non-smoking/vaping farm and appreciate you smoking/vaping in your vehicle not on our premises please.
Partying: Nope not us. Our farm is peaceful and quiet and so are our neighbors. Please party elsewhere and come here to relax in the blissful quiet of nature. Quiet music, just playing some Spotify tunes and acoustic musicians are welcome here. There's a great bar restaurant 5 minutes from us, "17 Cherry Plain Sq". Live music, great food and something like 40 beers on tap. Party there then chill out here with us.
Breakfast and the best beef this side of the Mississippi can be found at Gardners Cafe and Icecream Shop only 5 miles up 22 South from our place. You can enjoy a big fat omelet with homefries and bacon then grab frozen hamburg and steaks from Gardner's own local beef grown wild and free outside.
Cherry Plain Sanctuary Farm is adjacent to miles of public forest. Peace and solace can be found in these quiet mountains. In addition to amazing hiking, backpacking mountain biking, road biking right from your Hipcamp site, with kayaking nearby.
We are 10 minutes away from Cherry Plain State Park (which has a gorgeous lake and kid-friendly sandy beach), and even closer to the Taconic Crest Trail.
Our location is nestled between the Taconics of New York, the Green Mountains of Vermont, and the Berkshires of Massachusetts.
Come share our paradise, bring your outdoor adventurer gear (you will be glad you did) and we will share our favorite local destinations with you.
We ask that all hipcampers who are primary guests be 21 years of age or over. Children are welcome but we will not knowingly rent to anyone under 21 years of age.
There is a $50 additional charge for garbage left at our farm including cigarette butts (we are a no smoking farm!), broken glass, bottles, cans, plastics, containers, bags and other trash.
This is a pack in and pack out working farm not a party spot. Renting from us constitutes your reading of our rules attached to each property, your understanding and your agreement of our policies. We loved camping at Cherry Plain! The teepee was spacious and extremely cool and the surrounding area was beautiful: trails leading into a fern-filled forest, horses and goats grazing in big pastures, a state park ten minutes away with a pretty pond to lay by. Jules and Jerome were very gracious and kind to us. Great hosts :) bring more blankets than you think though—the nights get cold! Julie provided us with some extra blankets. The site also had plenty of firewood and water provided.

Beautiful sunset, very clean tent, pit toilet, and easy trail to hike on. Short ride to Letchwood State Park. Price was right.
Glamping camping spot. As an older couple who stop camping, we will be back.
Bed was very comfortable and easy to get out of. Quiet, relaxing. The homemade cookies and coffee pot were great.

Despite the rain, 20+mph winds, and temperatures wavering quickly from the 40s to the 70s, I loved my weekend away! The stove inside the tent was a bit of a learning curve, but it kept me warm and dry. Cooking over a fire is my favorite part of camping, and the fire pit was perfect! Finding the driveway and the walk to the site were really easy, and it felt very private. I could hear some conversations from the other site, but didn't see anyone all weekend. Overall, I'd be excited to camp here again!

Weekend Trip to TainoWoods Fairy Magical Sweet Land
It all went well I pulled up and the land was lush even in the rain the place looked magical & emaculate. I parked in my spot then my party & I headed straight for the tent of our dreams. We spent time on the water, built a fire, and enjoyed our Memorial weekend stay in the bliss of Hipcamp.

Weekend Trip to Overgrown Ridge Camp By Letchworth
Went here with my girlfriend for a raining weekend getaway. Jalin was very responsive and accommodating. Even with the rain we stayed dry and warm inside the tent. Beautiful property and stars are amazing at night. Highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Overgrown Ridge Camp By Letchworth
We were excited to try this experience and it turned out wonderful. It was a cold wintry weekend but as long as we kept the wood stove filled, it was very cozy. Jalin + Rosetta are very hospitable hosts and have a lovely place to stay.

So relaxing! Tent has everything you need. The wood stove kept the dog and I warm and comfortable all 3 days we were there. Perfect spot to unwind and enjoy some winter camping. The pour over coffee and chocolate chip cookies were delicious. Jalin is a top notch host!

Weekend Trip to Overgrown Ridge Camp By Letchworth
My girlfriend and I went here for Valentines Day. We went to letchworth state park before hand and saw the waterfalls and walked around the available paths that weren’t closed off in the winter. The site is about 20 minutes away. The driveway was easy to find and plenty of space to park and unpack. Jalin left us a wagon to put our stuff in and walk the plowed path to the tent. The tent is very secluded and private and quite cozy inside. It’s very clean and tidy inside. The chocolate chip cookies he left were delicious. The bed was quite comfortable and we stayed warm from the wood stove and the blankets provided even though it was below frozen outside the tent. We were very happy with our stay and would recommend to anyone visiting in the letchworth area.

Camping here was great! The tent was cozy, and warm even in the middle of winter with its wood stove, in a private section near short trails in the woods on the property, and was a welcoming stay.

This was a really fun stay in a well-equipped tent. The bed was super comfortable with pillows and extra linens provided. The dresser had some cooking utensils and the hosts even provided pour over coffee and cookies! The wood stove helped keep the cold away (in the teens at night) and they even got it going before we arrived and dropped off 5 gallons of water. Having solar power and lights was really great. Probably the nicest outhouse I've ever been in. Jalin was really nice and very accommodating having plowed the snow on the trail back to the tent (about 150 yards). We snowshoed on the trails and took our dogs out in the snow. They loved and so did we!

1 night at Overgrown Ridge Camp By Letchworth
Beautiful property and so convenient to not have to put up my own tent. The tent is wonderful equipped with a wood burning stove. I camped on a reeeealllly cold & windy night so it was nice to have my Mr. Buddy heater to supplement in the middle of the night when I didn’t feel like tending to the fire. I didn’t have time to explore the other paths and I’m so bummed because it looked like an amazing place to frolick! If you are a star gazer, this is your place! The hosts were so amazing and very accommodating. I appreciated the fire!

Weekend Trip to Overgrown Ridge Camp By Letchworth
The site is tucked back in hidden from everything but a field. The tent is great and the wood stove worked wonderfully once we remembered how vents work. The bed was quite comfortable but pick your side wisely if you are over 6 ft.
The outhouse seems brand new and the short trails around the property are a nice morning walk.
We were comfortably warm in the 30s, except for when I let the fire go out. Will definitely be stopping by again when it warms back up.
