Weekend Trip to Cherry Plain Sanctuary Farm

The teepee was roomy, had 2 large fire pits, 5 gallons of water and plenty of firewood. Also, the animals on the farm were very sweet. I enjoyed the quietness of the location and the friendliness of the hosts. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get away for a night under the stars!

Weekend Trip to Mariaville Goat Farm Yurt

The whole experience was wonderful from start to finish. I love traditional camping, but that is difficult to do with a two-year-old. The treehouse site on this property allowed me to enjoy many of the things I love about traditional camping, while also being comfortable for my family. Our two-year-old loved interacting with the goats, as well as a very friendly cat who dropped by for regular visits. Ed and Rick were incredibly accommodating and responsive to our needs - they even went above and beyond by freezing some ice packs for me so I could tend to a pre-existing knee injury. They are wonderful hosts. I highly recommend this site for families, or anyone else interested in a hassle-free and comfortable outdoor getaway.

This site was perfect for us! super private, yet, with breathtaking views. It was clean and organized. everything was well thought and simple to find and operate. This is one of the few glamping sites which I feel is perfect all year round.

Weekend Trip to Private Catskill Glamping Retreat

This site was perfect and had everything we needed; Elon was very easy to communicate with and extremely helpful. There were games and cozy blankets in the tent to keep us warm and occupied during the rainy morning, and the sounds of the stream to lull us to sleep at night. I would highly recommend this site and hope to return soon!

Weekend Trip to TainoWoods Fairy Magical Sweet Land

Such a great place to get re-connected with Nature! Jesse and Chantel welcome you to their sanctuary with hospitality and gratitude! I highly recommend taking up Jesse on the ATV ride if you have a lot of gear to bring to your site. He charges $25 cash for round trip assistance. If you can carry it all, be aware the property slopes down towards the river bed, and you will need to make sure can carry it back up to the parking at the top of the slope. There are several sites on their property along the paths they have created in a way that flows with the landscape. The platform they have built for the Bell Tent great! Sits above the river bed where you can hear the water ramble by and listen to the birds singing. We bought wood from Jesse for the fire pit and we were given some cedar to put in our fire that Jesse will explain to you how it is used in the Taino tradition. The fire pit kept a good deal of the bugs away, and tent was great for two of us and our gear. We welcomed the morning's sunshine with Chantel and Jesse greeting us and with their traditional chants and prayers of gratitude to Nature, which they were kind enough to translate for those who didn't understand the language. We left feeling like we made great connections to the land and with Jesse and Chantel who we look forward to seeing again on our next stay. Bo matum!

I love this site! This was our second time visiting and booking the same site! It is comfortable and has its own picnic area and fire pit set in which is amazing! We have small children so it was really accommodating of them! The outdoor kitchen located further in the land is helpful! Weekend Trip to Upper Shire Campsites Hudson Valley

We loved camping at Upper Shire! The cabin was amazing. It was cozy and had all of the amenities that we needed and then some! It was well built and very cute. We definitely recommend taking the canoe out on the little pond. It was gorgeous. Joanna was extremely hospitable. We are definitely coming back.

Weekend Trip to Piebald Mountain

We honestly weren't sure what to expect for our weekend in the Bell tent. Sure, the hipcamp posting looked beautiful but we were were skeptical about how private it'd actually be & with a rainy weekend forecast we began our trip hoping for the best but prepared for the worst. However, all of our concerns melted away as we pulled up to the bell tent. The location is absolutely stunning. Nestled in the lush mountain, we woke up to a view I continue to dream about. The tent itself is MASSIVE and sooo roomy. It's stocked with everything you could need including an incredibly comfortable queen bed, mini fridge, wood burning stove, all the necessities one could need while camping and beautiful string lights that provide the perfect ambient lighting. Despite the scattered showers, we spent our days hiking down the road in cherry plain state park and checking out some of the local farmers markets and antique shops in the neighboring towns of Berlin and New Lancaster. We even welcomed the rain at night as the sounds of drops hitting our tent was the perfect calming white noise to put us to sleep. So yeah - this place is amazing and we will DEFINITELY be coming back! OH! I almost forgot to mention how incredible the host, Tarah, is! She reached out ahead of time with additional info and provided an entire spreadsheet of things to do in the area. what's more, when she saw the weather forecast was bad for my dates she offered to push my weekend back a day since it was clearing up. <3

We loved camping at Lilou's Landing. The views were beautiful with the snow covered ground and we were very impressed with all the extra touches. It was extremely comfortable for being mid-December and there was plenty of wood to keep us warm. We were still able to enjoy the trails and most of the amenities available. We will definitely be booking again!

If you look long enough, you may even see some shooting stars. The property is 93 acres and offers well manicured hiking trails that can even be used for Mountain Biking enthusiasts. Wild animals such as deer, raccoons, fox, owls, hawks, humming birds, bald eagles and more have made the land their home. Fireflies tend to take over in the summer months, its a beautiful thing to see. It's the perfect place to get away and enjoy nature all while being close to restaurants and downtown Olean if needed. Enjoy cooking on our rustic fire pits or light a fire to just enjoy the crackling sounds and warmth at night. A safe place for kids to run around, enjoy family time and the simple pleasures Mother Nature has to offer. It's perfect for anyone who just wants to get away and immerse themselves in the country. We have 2 camp sites ready right now both come with a fire pit. One is more secluded which is campsite #2 and the one with the valley view is campsite #1. Showers are seasonal. The last day for shower use is Oct 15th. You’re more than welcome to bring your own portable shower hook up and use the shower house for privacy. We apologize for any inconvenience. You will need to have a cigarette lighter access to use the shower to power the pump. We recommend bringing flashlights as our property is solar powered and there is no electric on the property. On low sunny days, solar lights may not last as long into the evening. On rainy days the property can be very muddy and access to the top of the hill to the sites would be best accessed with a 4WD vehicle as well as winter time with snow on the ground. If you'd like to charge your phone we advise you to bring back up battery packs as there is now electric hook ups on site. The most private sites are Cloud 9, Bunny Pit and Lilou's Landing. The cottage is located down by the main house and not at the top of the hill. Pets are welcome, please clean up after your dog. * No firearms or explosive devices of any kind are allowed on the property.

Our home, vegetable and herb gardens, mini-orchard of various fruit trees, and little farm are situated on the front few acres with the forest and campsites situated behind the barn and pond. We currently have an off-grid luxury tent set up for your use in a small clearing near the front portion of the forest, as well as several spots throughout the forest available if you prefer rustic tent camping with your own set up. We're still growing, and hope to add water and electric one day, but for now we welcome you to fully immerse yourself in the beauty of nature and enjoy the off-grid experience. We have a communal portapotty set up with a makeshift handwashing station for your use, and you can feel free to bring a generator or rent ours. We are happy to provide tours of the farm where you can meet the animals, or to show you around the forest. There are several easy trails throughout the woods, along which you will find raspberries, blackberries, mushrooms and other things to forage at various times of the year. It is a perfect place for bird watching, seeing other wildlife, and stargazing. Please be aware that you will find ticks, mosquitoes, and poison ivy throughout the woods. We are actively using regenerative approaches to manage these issues, but they are an unfortunate part of nature and we ask you to use caution. Please don't hesitate to ask if you need help with identifying anything. We are located a few minutes away from the beautiful and historic Medina village, along the Erie canal, where you will find several cute shops, restaurants and bars. There is also a boat launch, a skatepark, several playgrounds, and grocery stores within a few minutes from us, and we are just down the road from the National Iroquois Wildlife refuge. Niagara Falls, Buffalo, and Rochester are all within about an hour drive as well if you're looking for a central base from which to explore the WNY region.

We are a safe place for women who are traveling alone. We ensure everyone's quiet experience by not publishing our actual address. Please note: We ask for photo ID. Once we receive your photo ID via text we will provide exact directions to our property. Please plan to check in no later than 4:30pm as we are not available for later check ins unless we agree to meet you. It is dark at 5pm so early check in is critical. We host NYS Police along with local police/sheriff deputies here through our organization Hearts in Hand Horsemanship LLC. Don't be surprised if you see a NYS trooper or police unit parked up in the field near the horses. Fires: We allow small fires in specific spots, namely the fire ring at Camping on Blueberry Hill, at Ft Sky and inside the Tipi. Campsite fires are allowed weather permitting, when it's not windy and must be kept small. If it's windy then you can still have a fire in the tipi. No large fires or bonfires. All fires must be completely out unless you are physically with your fire. We supply 5 gallons of water and more is available to drink, wash dishes and put your fire out. Please respect our rules. Fire safety is necessary to keep everything safe here for all of us. Thank you for understanding. Here in the mountains we can experience very cold nights. We supply a small pile of firewood for a small fire at no charge. If you like, you can gather more dead wood (not live trees) in our forests. Winter is coming soon. Cherry Plain Sanctuary Farm is adjacent to miles of public forest. Peace and solace can be found in these quiet mountains. In addition to amazing hiking, backpacking mountain biking, road biking right from your Hipcamp site, with kayaking nearby. We are 10 minutes away from Cherry Plain State Park (which has a gorgeous lake and kid-friendly sandy beach), and even closer to the Taconic Crest Trail. Our location is nestled between the Taconics of New York, the Green Mountains of Vermont, and the Berkshires of Massachusetts. Come share our paradise, bring your outdoor adventurer gear (you will be glad you did) and we will share our favorite local destinations with you. We ask that all hipcampers who are primary guests be 21 years of age or over. Children are welcome but we will not knowingly rent to anyone under 21 years of age. There is a $50 additional charge for garbage left at our farm including cigarette butts (we are a no smoking farm!), broken glass, bottles, cans, plastics, containers, bags and other trash.
